Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

'First of all, Illegal immigrants are criminals.'

While technically correct, a more accurate description would be refugee.

Tired, poor, huddled masses indeed.

The fact that you are hung up on categorizing them as criminals because they are crossing an imaginary line out of desperation shows how little regard the GOP has for them. Or anyone really.

The GOP has shown time and time again the only 'compassion' they display is for an unborn fetus, or for rich white men. Fuck everyone else.

The GOP's idea of compassion is defunding planned parenthood (the primary source of contraception and OBGYN care for the impoverished) and outlawing abortions....then defunding medicaid and welfare for the children once they are born. Fuck you, got mine.

Grand Old Party of fucking assholes.

Re: “There isn't enough interaction between the different communities in Charleston

I really enjoy reading Kearney's articles. He strikes a chord with me. What he wrote is very true...norlmacy, the unknown.etc

It takes us all to make it happen. But the city needs to their part as well.

Well written!

Interesting that you quote Mark Krikorian. The man is an avid anti-Hispanic racist and has had ties with White Supremists. If that's what you've got to support Trump and yourself, you are part of the proof that the biggest thing Trump has shown from his rise in the Republican polls is their massive constituency of bigots and under-educated idiots.

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

Trump may have overstated the "they send" and yet, check this out:

In 2005 the government of Yucatán produced a handbook and DVD about the risks and implications of crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
The guide told immigrants, among other facts:
- where to find health care
- how to get their kids into U.S. schools
- how to send money home.
Officials in Yucatán said the guide is a necessity to save lives but some American groups accused the government of encouraging illegal immigration.

In 2005 the Mexican government was criticized for distributing a comic book which offers tips to illegal emigrants to the United States.
That comic book recommends to illegal immigrants, once they have safely crossed the border, "Don't call attention to yourself.... Avoid loud parties. ... Don't become involved in fights."
The Mexican government defends the guide as an attempt to save lives.

"It's kind of like illegal immigration for dummies," said the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, Mark Krikorian.

"Promoting safe illegal immigration is not the same as arguing against it".

The comic book does state on its last page that the Mexican Government does not promote illegal crossing at all and only encourages visits to the US with all required documentation.
That's a joke ...right?

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

First of all, Illegal immigrants are criminals.
The very fact that any immigrant enters our country for one of the following reasons
makes them a criminal. We have laws. We need to either enforce them as they exist or do away with them.
a) entering without authorization or inspection
b) staying beyond the authorized period after legal entry
c) violating the terms of legal entry
Section 1325 in Title 8 of the United States Code, "Improper entry of alien", provides for a fine, imprisonment, or both for any noncitizen who
enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration agents, or
eludes examination or inspection by immigration agents, or
attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact.

The maximum prison term is 6 months for the first offense and 2 years for any subsequent offense. In addition to the above criminal fines and penalties, civil fines may also be imposed.

Re: “There isn't enough interaction between the different communities in Charleston

I agree that we need to continue the dialogue, and to retain the memories of togetherness, forgiveness and love that our community shared during the days after the Emmanuel 9 shootings. We can each contribute in numerous small ways, by looking people in the eye, holding doors open, acknowledging those who look different from us, treating every person that you come into contact with as a human being, not a human resource. Little things can add up! Charleston has been an inspiration to the world, we can certainly be an inspiration to ourselves!

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

He's racist because he's wrong in mischaracterizing tons of hard-working, normal mexican people as criminals when they are not.

Desperate maybe, but not criminals.

But that won't stop idiots from getting dog-whistled into supporting him. This isn't Castro literally sending criminals to Miami. It's a stream of impoverished and desperate people trying to make money for their families. There might be criminals among them, but his shitty racist generalization is really what we've come to expect from the GOP.

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

So you'd think that if Trump says Mexico is sending these people, then the Mexican government would get really pissed at the accusation, but they're not. Why? Because they're smarter than most of us and the US media. They realze Trump is just a loud-mouthed egomaniacal buffoon. And as soon as Americans wake up to that, he's done.

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

Well, Hell, if Mexico is sending their people, we've got a beef with the government, not the people they're sending. But, then again, I don't think Mexico is sending them, I think they're coming on their own. But I could be wrong.

Re: “The Agenda: Roof charged with hate crimes; McGinley to Berkeley?; West Elm, Field & Stream opening soon

Here's a question. Why does the media make celebrities out of these idiots? I don't have the need or the desire to know their names or see their faces. I wonder how many would perform these senseless acts if they knew that they wouldn't get a write up in the paper.

Re: “Supreme Court history maker and Pride grand marshal says, 'We have more to do'

Clarkie - Whose God? Yours? Your God is very unhappy those who pass judgement on others. Another case of the direct line to God. Is it because God has no time to micromanage and has appointed you the supreme office manager of Earth? Perhaps you need to burn a little sinsemilla and clean the body and mind, you will feel much closer to Jah and perhaps gain some insight into brotherly love. Peace out Clarkie and remember Live and let Live as there are many versions of God.

Re: “Charleston Pride hosts its first ever same-sex wedding expo

Oh, and clarkie, FYI: Sodomy is NOT confined to "homosexual" relationships - straight people have and do use butt-holes, too (and some just are). However, given my husband's Vietnam war (protecting your rights to disagree with whatever) service related disability, we don't engage in "sodomite-sex" so there is a slim chance you may approve of our marriage.

And don't start the "who is the woman in your relationship" crap either. There is NO woman in our relationship - we're BOTH men. Ewwwww, right? Well, I had straight sex in order to stay in the closet for many years but that is about the grossest place I have ever put myself into. Ewwwwww! To each his or her own - LIVE AND LET LIVE.

If you are worried that our existence is going to bring the end-times, why hasn't it happened yet, because we existed BEFORE christianity was even created (by man)? Otherwise, if the end comes today because of us, then you ARE prepared, right? You are living a sinless life, I presume. And given you are dishing a log of judgment, you must be "clean" as Jesus - except for that judgment thing, anyway. You are on your FIRST marriage, never engaged in pre-marital sex and NEVER EVER masturbated, I am sure.

I know I am casting a lot of judgment right now but it is your god that said, "judge not, lest ye be judged" (paraphrased), so you get judged back when you cast it out.

@CIACulinaryKid. Thank you very much! We had shared over 32 years together before we were able to wed in our home state - and hope to make another 32 years, however age ain't on our side. Again, so glad of the support our community has seen in the "Holy City" and it's WELCOMING traditions.

Re: “Charleston Pride hosts its first ever same-sex wedding expo

"How can a city like Charleston call itself "The Holy City" and then hold their first Gay pride parade with all the wickedness and unclean persons marching down the streets"

It's pretty easy, actually. Just envision a world where self-loathing homosexual church-goers and church officials didn't make it a point for 150 years to cut off their nose to spite their face when addressing the idea of homosexuality. Or if not that, to draw attention away from their impulsive desire to drink, cheat and/or swindle.

In all of the scriptures, is there ANYTHING that's regularly interpreted more stringently than the handful of vague verses pertaining to homosexuality in the Christian Bible?

Moreover, why is the subject of homosexuality the ONLY TOPIC that routinely elicits Dark Age rhetoric from the Christian community? We're talking fire-and-brimstone, snakes-in-pulpit, talking-in-spells creepy shit here (such as the comment you just wrote, Clarkie). Most of the people spouting such nonsense wouldn't know the Sodom and Gomorrah story if someone threw the manuscript at them and it brazed their slack jaws as it fell to the floor in the puddle of drool.

It's all in your head. Seriously. As soon as you realize that you've been brainwashed and it's YOU who is upside down rather than society, you can start coming to terms with your own sexual identity.

Re: “Watch Lindsey Graham destroy his flip phone with a samurai sword

umm nope.
You just missed my previous comments.

The exact quote is..
"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people. It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably— probably— from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast."

Regardless if you agree with him or not. It helps to deal in facts.

First and foremost he was referring to ILLEGAL immigrants. A very important word in any discussion and one that seems to get dropped more and more in any discussion.

Nothing in those comments is meant as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

Your the one who is uninformed and making your assumptions based on biased news
and not just a man's words and deeds.

Again do you have any facts to support your opinion?

Do you happen to know how many latino americans he has in his organizations from all levels of business?
