Molly is lucky really. Just like American Idol, it's better NOT to win. I mean, how many ANTM winners are actually successful? Molly is gorgeous and will be a great model, Brittani will crash and burn. I'm so disgusted (and I'm an old lady!) that I won't be watching that show again!

Food for thought:

A flat income tax rate of ten percent on South Carolina's 37,247 families that make $200,000 or more (and just using that low figure to do the math) would yield $745,280,000 in tax revenue.

There are around 366,000 families in this state with incomes over $100,000.

The remaining 1.7 million households have an income less than $100,000.

223,585 of those have an income of less than $25,000.

Now, tell me why there are budget deficits in this state.

I am serious. Can anyone here (or the City Paper) do an actual analysis of how the state's revenue system really works? Are there hard statistics on how much the upper three percent of the state's family actually pays in income taxes?

Can anyone do some research into what those households do to make their money? I am willing to bet not all of them are small business owners. If they aren't, and therefore they aren't creating jobs, then even by the logic of the Tea Party taxing them would not hurt job creation.

ETV radio is one state service that I use among a scant few, so I am disappointed by this news. However, this is not surprising as the state is broke, broke and everyone's going to be feeling some sort of sting. She said she wants to protect education and that is a higher priority to me. I have no idea how they plan on keeping this state open for business with drastic cuts being the rule of the day.

I can't blame them for fulfilling the wishes of the electorate... I chose to live here as did the rest of us.

As most of you are well aware, I am working on my own documentary film called “Waveless Summer.” It will feature pseudo-surfers who will travel around the globe in search of beaches without waves. Folly Beach, SC will be featured as one of the sites in this movie. As the film maker, I would like to showcase nationally that you can have a burgeoning surf culture without actually having any decent waves to surf throughout the year. I would publicly like to thank Jaxx for his technical expertise in making this film a reality.

Paddling out on a bright blue sunny day early in the morning..no one anywhere in sight...just the pelicans and a samll but glassy set rolling in..sure maybe its smallish but ...A waste of time?...a waste of time is when i feel compelled to comment on your negative post. Spoiled may be the key word. What purpose did your negtive post really serve?
Frankly i hope more people have your opinon and waste their time somewhere else. More enjoyment of the local beaches for the rest of us. Finding the bright spot in where you happen to live may be something you have yet to attain. I've never met someone yet, who truely enjoyed surfing, that didn't try to make the best out of any conditions..whether its flat or storm break..some fun is always to be had.
I wish the film makers the best of luck, although i could really careless if folly is well respected by others..as for me...i'll be out gettin wet! :)

The washout at Folly will be a nationally respected surf locale when it can produce waves which isn't likely to happen in my lifetime.

Unfortunately, our beaches do not have the degree of steepness needed for decent waves on a regular basis. I enjoy surfing and became really spoiled by decent waves in Florida and elsewhere. Surfing locally is just a waste of time.

I really enjoy the hippodrome, although almost every time I visited the place was empty.

The seats were crazy comfortable and the people who worked there were cool.

Seeing as how this is the only movie theater downtown, closing time will be a sad day.

somebody find me and we'll make a unique movie-going experience work here on the waterfront... This whole building needs a marketing overhaul. I've never seen ONE billboard or advert for this place. there are too many shuttered windows in our downtown districts. If a run-down Waffle House can be converted to a Mex eatery and thrive next to a working scrap metal yard, why can't we have a downtown upscale silver-screen?!

Do they have the same script as the Ghost Hunters of TAPS? Because I never get tired of that script. It's an amazing script, really, since you can take it into almost any building in the country and shoot it the exact same way and put it on TV over and over again and people never seem to get tired of it. And that, really, is the brilliance of "reality" television.
