So many commenters just proved you right. The worst kind of ignorance is when one doesn't only deny reality, but actively refuses to acknowledge the truth. Not worth my time to refute the idiots, but I will say a resounding HAHAHA at them.
Faux-News strikes again!
I agree with local hutch 100%. Go and live in Chappequa with the hildebeast and Bill. By the way did you know that slavery was created by the Democratic Party? They also came up with the KKK. The Confederate flag does not represent slavery either. Go and get your facts straight Mat. While we are on the treason subject did anyone hear about the treasonous acts that our current lame duck president committed? Well apparently he told central command to "cook" the information coming in and not report it to anyone. That information pertained to ISIS and their proliferation. Go and listen to Hannity from Friday... Such corruption with those Dems.
Your "intentional ignorance" of the Civil War is what is so unacceptable. I can see that you really used your Thesaurus when writing today. If you are so miserable down here with all these ignorant red necks, why don't you move? I would suggest California, as those kooks would make you feel right at home. Or maybe Hillary's house?
The author needs to go back to NC. He's actually a troll, who writes with malice. More than likely an unhappy person & has a bunch of cats as companions. Sad the publisher won't reorganize all this. Probably will need to deal with him at a later time.
The traitors were brought back into the fold, for better or worse, with a perpetual chip on their shoulder which has been passed down to morons with access to the internet.
Treason, you say? How many were convicted and executed for that crime in relation to the 1860 secession? Surely it must have been hundreds, or thousands?
Yes, Cid. Assholes come from all walks of life. Treason supporters, however, are more niche.
The most interesting part of the flag displays at The Battery are the not one but two incidents this year resulting in arrests of tolerant leftists who stole from and assaulted people they disagreed with.
Because theft and violence are wrong, except if someone says something you don't want to hear.
MatC - looked like you picked up two more devoted fans and followers for your fan club with this commentary. G & G is a idiot magazine for idiots from off. I do like my Southern Living though, its got recipes that I always say Imma gonna make that but don't and I like Rick Bragg. Forget the flag, do not screw with Southern Living, my Grandma will come back and kick your ass.
"Intentional ignorance"? Nah, more like unabashed stupidity.
I will help you move
Boy, you love complaining about living in South Carolina. I'm not sure why you haven't moved yet???
We need to repeal the law giving national security briefings to the presidential candidates. Trump will release our national secrets to his friend, dictator Putin of Russia. He is a very dangerous candidate, surely planted by the Russian secret police. He can't be allowed to know any of our secrets.
After 240 years of existence, Americas best choices for the leader of our country is between a modern day Hitler or his opponent, a political liar and the establishment that elected her, who actively and purposely shut out one of the most altruistic, honest politicians to ever run for office. While I am choosing the liar to prevent the Hitler, it does not mean I will follow along like a good sheeple. We will be watching Billiary and her wall street cronies, slithery snake oil saleswoman that she is.
I respect your arguments, Mat, but I see a "yuge" difference between the candidates.Trump is a fool & a buffoon, probably mentally ill, and Hillary a more or less center-right, AIPAC-subservient, probably sane person who seems to have been pulled a little toward the left by the influence of Sanders. Trump could get even much worse, but she may improve a bit. Anyway, half a loaf--or even a crumb--is worth choosing over nothing.
Since our state is going to go to Trump, we have the luxury of voting our consciences, even if that means not voting for national candidates. I'm going to vote again for the deeply experienced, knowledgeable, committed Hillary Clinton despite her flaws because I've not revised my voting standards for this one particular candidate to demand perfection. If addressing anthropogenic climate change, universal health care and women's rights is conservative, then so be it, although I feel that there are a lot of conservatives on this site that would bristle at such a characterization. You know, since they absolutely, positively reject all of those things with every fiber of their beings.
Vote Gary Johnson. 15% of popular vote will get libertarian party invite to next presidential debates.
Granted the choice isn't great this year. Hillary is not exactly transparent. But Trump is dangerous. He is clueless about the constitution; he is an ego maniac who bashes John McCain, other veteran heroes. He has an economic plan which is a disaster from the 10 trillion dollar deficit caused by his tax cuts for the wealthy, to deporting 12 million illegals, to favoring protective tariffs. He is a compulsive liar; i.e. no relationship with Putin when for 3 years he bragged about the relationship; his backers didn't remove the Ukraine plank from the republican platform; it is a real Purple Heart medal not a copy; he is worth 8 billion; the list goes on and on. He wants to monitor mosques and ban muslims. He is a national security nightmare as judged by every national security expert whom I have heard speak.
Clinton's Supreme Court appointments will overturn Citizens United, one of the most destructive decisions in Supreme Court history. She is stable which Trump is not; she's steady which Trump is not; she is knowledgeable which Trump is not; she is not thin skinned and she is not a bully; she is experienced which Trump is not.
This is the single most idiotic article I've read in a while.
