I hate to break this to everyone... but just because Rue de Jean has a French name does not make it a French restaurant. Their menu includes sushi. What about La Fourchette? It is owned and managed by an actual Frenchman, trust me go in there and he will come and speak to you at some point during your dinner. What about Fast & French? Or even Fat Hen or Fish for goodness sake?
As far as "best French restaurant," this is not only a poor choice but an insult to the authentic and wonderful French restaurants that Charleston has to offer.
Apparently the "New York Style" refers to nouveau cuisine from a northern English city. I'm from New York and Andolini's is not like anything I've ever seen either in the city or in the more mundane regions anywhere in the state. Perhaps a qualifier should be that before voting on New York style pizza, you must actually know what it is. But, alas, if that philosophy were to be emplaced on all "Best Of" categories, it would permanently skew all of the results we've grown to expect..........Nevermind.
You know, it's really funny... I've eaten Andolini's pizza and it's ok - if you've got the munchies and have an uncontrolled urge for anything to fill your stomach. Last year, I made a trip to NYC and while I was there, I ate at the place where Sabatino spent years "learning the trade". It was "to die for"! I've only had better pizza in one place - Italy. I'm here to tell you that I couldn't taste any real difference between NY pizza in NYC (the Bronx) and NY pizza at Sabatino's. Sab's pizza is, by far, the best place in town and the ONLY place in town to get real NY pie.
A closed place won?
@Aleyeast but they went to Jersey Mike's...which is from NJ lol
well done city paper.
Has no one ever been to The Woodlands? Or how about Perfectly Franks at least?
Well, what is the REAL best new restaurant?
Brock's double cheeseburger is one of the best I've ever had. Not sure I understand the California spin (In-N-Out) at a restaurantly so overtly committed to local and regional cuisine, but I'm not complaining either.
No, mayor, tells us what you really feel
This pick is ridiculous...Andolini's isn't even in the top 10.
Let's see....Sabatino's, La Pizzeria, and on and on and on.
Andolini's is dog crap pizza...
YOU have to be kidding? Not? What a joke.....
Accent on Wine in Summerville may be small, but the quality is fantastic.
Do NOT compare a Mercedes to a Honda
This is a no brainer. Not even a close contest. Congrats.
obviously, voters have never been to a deli or sub shop in NJ
No love for small business here. Large selection of wine doesn't mean good selection of wine.
Do you think Brock could make a double cheeseburger? I don't think so....He's out of his apron.
it is painful to see true enuff. Try a sub/hoagie at Philly's there is no comparison. If you can stand to not have a cheesesteak that day. Better yet, just get both ! :)
Try any of their flavor combinations you won't be disappointed.
