I hope Richard Todd comes back in someway. He was just a common sense guy.
I think shes great. I remember her when she did weekends on chan. 5. She's come along way
If you don't want Tara, send her back to Charlotte! We'll take her back in a second. Charlotte has become a talk radio wasteland.
I'm glad someone brought up Q and Storey. Here's the thing - they seem like nice enough guys, but their voices are identical; I've listened to them for years and still can't tell who is who. And whichever one gives little news tidbits gets flustered too often for it to be his full-time job. A typical story: "Yesterday in North Chalers... Charste... Yesterday, a man in cha... Chasterdon depo... ok... yesterday, a deputy in Narleston... North Carles..." After a while, I'm like "just forget it and move on". I will say though, kudos to those guys and Sherry for picking up the slack after Todd left. They did go above and beyond. I just wish Rocky D could get a gig with a wider audience. He's severely under-appreciated here in the lowcountry.
I just want someone to give me local news and views. Unfortunately, Charleston as a tertiary market just doesn't have the call-in IQ needed to support great radio, (see the current crop of 1st Dist candidates - and yes I am a native). All the people with whom I have had contact in local radio are nice folks, but all their shows lose me after about 30 mins. We can't expect Larry King from Bugtustle. Praise the Lord and pass the Dogma!
I completely disagree with this selection. Tara is no Ann Coulter by any stretch but she's no Richard Todd either. Her 'Liberal Latte' crack the other day sealed the deal for me. Richard was right of center and sure he'd get stuck on an issue or two but he was even in his contempt for both Liberals and Republicans. He understood that just because you call yourself a Republican doesn't mean you're a Conservative. Tara is just abrasive and loves to hear herself speak. I will always love John Quincy and Fred Storey but they can't keep me there. Charleston has a definite dearth of local talk radio talent. Hell, as much as I can't stand Rocky D, he's better than Tara any day and at least I can enjoy his show.
I'll admit, it took me a while to warm up to her too, but she's kind of grown on me. Compared to Todd's daily harping on not being able to play Crazy 8's with his son for fear of being arrested for gambling, or the Crosstown flooding, I'll take Tara any day. And don't even get me started on the mindless witch hogging up the airwaves on 94.3 Now, if we could just cut down on all these nonstop Jeff Cook realtor testimonials...
I recently moved here, and only got about a month or so of Moredock.
Loved him.
Will Moredock.
Runner-Up: Matastrophe.
Fuck off, Jack Hunter.
"Since Mat usually finds and executes justice on wingnut CP commenters ."
And if need be, I or others execute justice on Matt's far left wingnut shit.
How did Clarkie and/or Larry not win? It's rigged I say!
Congrats, matastrophe. I'm gunning for your crown next year. Let me get the ball rolling:
All pregnant women should have mandatory abortions. Guns are for pussies who can't handle their beefs like real men. I want to get gay married to Larry Carter Center.
Game on, bitch.
Congratulations to my talented Creative Writing students at the Academic Magnet High School for winning best locally produced video for their Six-Word Memoir film! Watch the film at:

unfortunalty the woman that writes for city paper does not have a clue what minx is really about. Minx no longer discusses sexual issues in the publication. We believe that women get their empowerment when their mind, body and spirit is aligned as one. We focus on words of Enlightement filled with Encouragement to move forward in life through ones own Empowerment. To learn more about Minx, check it out at www.charlestonminx.com
Congrats! It was the beets and pickles that swayed my vote.
THANKS to everyone who voted! XO

Re: “Best Local TV Anchor”
Carolyn Murray is also the most jacked news anchor. Look at those shoulders!
