Re: “Cheater critique brings karmic butt bite

Jen, do you think I don't know these things? I'm not an effing idiot. First of all, you're quoting things I didn't say. Second of all, you missed the point entirely.

Now please tell me exactly HOW I am supposed to "let go of the hate" towards her??? It's not that easy, especially when she's not the least bit sorry.

For godssakes, let me vent my hatred in the Love/Hate column without coming down on ME for being angry with HER.

Re: “Cheater critique brings karmic butt bite

PaulW, have you ever been in this situation? I appreciate the respectful comment because it sounds like it comes from genuine concern -- but it has not been quite 2 years yet, and any knowledgeable counselor will tell you that the typical "recovery time" after an affair is *at least* 2 years. This is a HUGE thing to get over, and it would be helpful if the other woman bore some of the brunt or at least helped the situation afterward by acknowledging her role and apologizing. But as I said, she apparently has no conscience whatsoever.

Re: “Cheater critique brings karmic butt bite

Are you kidding with this? She didn't 'come along and ruin your life' - your husband did when he fell for her 'skanky charms' and dropped his pants. And he can be sorry all he wants - he should be - he's the one who made a vow to you - she didn't.
Be clear, I'm not defending her (she'll get hers), but the lion's share of the blame rests on your lame-ass spouse.
Direct your anger onto the proper person and let go of your hate towards this woman. It's obviously easier for you to vilify her than your husband, but forgiveness is not for the other person - it's for you. If you don't, you're well on your way to becoming a bitter old woman..

If this is how you feel after two years, you might, with all respect, reach out for some counseling.

Re: “No road nannies needed for lightnin' quick lefty

Some states, Illinois for example, have a law against hogging the left lane. We need one here too. When all else fails I see nothing wrong with passing Nannie on the right and give them the "whatsa matta wi you baby"? look as I go by.

Re: “No road nannies needed for lightnin' quick lefty

It's me!!! I'm the one doing 10 over the speed limit in the left lane - not below, but breaking the law by going 10 over - and you come tearing up on my ass at 60 in a 40 zone and start blowing your horn and tailgating and I don't get out of your way - why? - just to piss you off, a-hole!

Re: “No road nannies needed for lightnin' quick lefty

Lol..agreed...maybe not for the reason of "love of all things sacred and beautiful", but plain courtesy and rules of the road, left lane lingerers can get their slow asses out the left lane. Gotta love those folks who you can literally SEE STARING at you in their rear view mirror with that "Yeah, Im driving 10 miles under the speed limit in the left lane, and WHAT look on their face...".. AGGHHHHH!!!!!

Re: “Bleeding heart dreamland gets a mouth full of tea bags

PaulW,
Your arguments sound like a copy and past debate. Let me counterpoint.
Limited federal government= Yes, like keeping the fed gov't out of public schools and returning that responsibility back to the states. Since the feds took this over it has gone downhill. Also, I don't want the feds teaching my child to go along to get along only to reach college and be told that one must think for one's self.
• Individual freedoms =I love this one! Motorcyclists have to carry insurance just like automobiles. Can you show me where you pay for their injuries for life. Can you show me a biker that is living life as a vegetable that you are supporting? If that is your only argument, then we should kill off any old and terminally ill citizens that are costing the public money. What about smokers, bungee jumpers, bicyclists that ride our highways, policemen and firefighters. All risk their lives so we should not keep them.
• Free markets - "maybe we should eliminate the minimum wage so that large corporations can make several more billions of dollars while so many more employees wouldn't be able to make enough money to feed their families?" This has already been done in the food and beverage market. But back to your point: education helps keep one from making minimum wage, whether it be skilled workers or phd's.

But the helmet issue really irked me as this is put forth by so many who can't stand that they have to wear a seat belt while bikers comtinue to fight for their right to ride helmetless if they are over 21.

I thought the intent of the love/hate section was to write in a conversational tone. The people ripping the author didn't write any more intelligent, or in one case not even a complete sentence.

Re: “No nude dudes for this pizza person

True, it only costs a small portion of a food's price to actually prepare that food. But anyone who thinks the rest of the money paid for a food item is "pure profit" for the business is talking out of his/her ass. Rent/mortgage, utilities, labor costs, insurance, paper goods, advertising, trash services, general maintenance - do you think these services are provided as charity by The Restaurant Fairies?
