Re: “The P&C's editorial board is cowardly at best, complicit at worst

I'm more disappointed in the South Carolina dem party. I feel like they meddled in the primary unfairly. They gave Bernie zero chance to win. Pathetic. And I lost respect for one particular pol that I thought was truly a revolutionary- turns out he's just trying to move up.

Re: “The P&C's editorial board is cowardly at best, complicit at worst

The P&C did do its homework. It is you who has fallen for the Obama administration's
push to close the base on really what is just a pretext to justify a political decision.

"In Dabiq’s nine issues (the isis propaganda mag.), for example, the word “Guantanamo” appears just four times. “Israel,” “Jew,” and “Zion” together appear 133 times, and “Crusade,” 387. Even “Kashmir” and “India” together make ten appearances, while “Drone” shows up seven times. In the eighth issue of Dabiq, Guantanamo is only used in passing to mention that a mujahid was once held there. However, the world “hijrah,” or the call the immigrate to the Islamic State, is invoked 38 times. Considering that one of the four appearances of “Guantanamo” is in a footnote and that the other references appear almost incidental, it becomes obvious that Guantanamo is not a primary driver of ISIS’s English-language print propaganda."

I'm just needling Haire a bit; he redeemed himself with me when he refused to delete Hunter's disgusting columns.

Pronghorn is right, as per usual. Dwayne Green is a must-read out of morbid curiosity. His lack of command of persuasive language is awesome.

Jack Hunter is disgusting.

However, I'm surprised you're surprised, Chris, that a conservative editorial board is conservative and self-serving. Is it even noteworthy? However, what is noteworthy is your column made me thirsty and hungry. Let's go drink some liquor and eat some chicken?

Re: “The P&C's editorial board is cowardly at best, complicit at worst

Of course it's beyond shameful to have paid Jack Hunter, who was not a staff writer but a contributing columnist; I agree with TROLLSLAYER about that. His level of racism was inexcusable. I'll never forget it, and I do my best never to let him forget it -- as he tried to do when he asked Chris Haire to delete his columns:

http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/Haireof…

Even Bill Kristol's shameful rag linked to the Moonie-broken story (I'm not going to link to it, but it's in this column):

http://www.weeklystandard.com/rand-paul-ai…

I think it's extremely important not to forget this; so I don't.

---

On an extremely less shameful, but nonetheless noteworthy misstep is the City Paper's publication of Dwayne Green as a columnist. His "writing" and "thinking" is beyond cringeworthy, and utterly transparent in motive. Dwayne Green is an insult to anyone who thinks. His transgressions are petty when it comes to Hunter, though, and I almost feel badly for mentioning him directly after a sub-human racist, but that's the way it'll have to be for me, as they're the only two people in my five (?) years of reading the City Paper that I hate.

---

On a more positive note, the City Paper was the springboard for Paul Bowers's career. I've long maintained -- even (way) before he left for the P&C -- that he's the best reporter in town.

I have to wonder how many of the trolls popping up here to "support" Bernie are actually right wingers bent on sabotage.

Re: “You can't unsee this video of Hillary Clinton getting down at the Music Farm

Fellow Democrats, support Bernie or risk losing the general election this year. Why?
https://youtu.be/QxjIDa5Ezq0

Fellow Democrats, we are GENUINE progressives pledged to either write-in Bernie Sanders in the general election or vote Green if he is not the Party nominee. Why would we do this?

We will not accept another Wall Street-backed candidate for President. While we want a woman in the White House, the United States needs a political revolution to bring an end to our plutocracy which is a government by and for wealthy people. Therefore, we cannot and will not vote for Hillary Clinton, an untrustworthy establishment candidate funded by billionaires.

If you support anyone but Senator Sanders in the primaries or caucuses, you will divide Democrats, and you will be on your own in the general election. Let's not have a repeat of the disastrous 2000 election.

We must ‪#‎UniteBehindBernie‬‬, an honest and principled Senator, or you'll risk having Donald Trump or Senator Cruz nominating the next Supreme Court judges.

Re: “You can't unsee this video of Hillary Clinton getting down at the Music Farm

Hillary is universally unpopular amongst the young?
According to this Republican pollster, she is less popular than Bernie but more popular than anybody else in the race.:

And BTW, it's easy to see who the trolls are; they pop up out of nowhere and only comment on one subject.

We refuse to support another Wall Street-backed Democrat. The un-electable Secretary Clinton is almost the same as voting Republican: hawkish, pro-corporate and not worthy of trust. Remember Ralph Nader? We can't risk having a declared Republican appoint the next Supreme Court judges, so let's #UniteBehindBernie, an honest candidate with integrity.

"Hillary is universally unpopular amongst the youth and independents two demographics you need to win a general election"
Independents for sure, and centrists/independents determine every national race.
Youth? Not so much, every election it's "oh the youth are going to come out and change everything" but it never happens.
So the question is will she be more unpopular amongst independents by general election time than Donald Trump?

Re: “You can't unsee this video of Hillary Clinton getting down at the Music Farm

If you support Bernie and you won’t support Hillary Clinton then let the DNC know that by signing this petition. Better to let them know now while something can be done. Hillary is universally unpopular amongst the youth and independents two demographics you need to win a general election, plus she has a 57%disapproval rating. Republicans are voting in far greater numbers this year because Trump brought a lot of new people into the process. If Hillary wins the nomination not Only will Trump be the next president but he will have super majorities in the house and the senate. If the democrats wont nominate a candidate with real values then we are all going to lose.

Re: “Trump: Vatican 'ISIS' ultimate target,' Pope being used as a pawn by unnamed other

Mr. Trump before you make statements about the Pope get your facts straight the wall around the Vatican was built over 1100 years ago to keep out the Saracens but today there are many completely open gates accessible to all and the Mexicans didn't build any part of it or was forced to pay for it. Being a good Catholic I can only hope you get what you truly deserve and the White House is not one of my wishes for you.

Trump is a fool & a boor. Unless you compare him with the other Republican candidates, at which time he becomes relatively intelligent and a near gentleman.
