Sanford had South Carolina fall on the sword because of his refusal to accept federal dollars while he was a Gov (Federal stimulus money to keep teachers and emergency responders employed) and a Representative (returned millions of road paving funds when SC had the highest % of unpaved roads in the nation). We are a poor state that needs infrastructure and teachers funded. I could care less about his personal life, I'm more concerned for South Carolina.

If Jenny Sanford hadn't let herself go and put some effort and WORK into their bedroom,... Then Gov Sanford would not have had to "outsource" their martial relations to Argentina! She's typical of the lazy "entitled" US worker Gov Sanford is always talking about. Jenny is exactly the 47% (read TAKER alimony, child support, etc.) that that our party warns us about.
Besides, Sanford respects our Tea Party Patriot values. He doesn't waste our
hard earned tax dollars on trips to Argentina to "hook up" with some ho, does he?
Question to my fellow Tea Party Patriots - If Sanford's mistress gets preggers, is it an anchor baby? As a Tea Party Patriots, we must support Mark and our GOP family values candidates.

Attacking the child went beyond the pale-- he is not a public figure, and does not deserve public ridicule, especially in wild speculation. This did not come off as funny or intelligent-- just low brow and nasty.

This one will go down in the books as one of the most tasteless attacks on a very talented and willing person who wants only to go to DC and help us. If he has some personal flaws, well, join the crowd! If most of you would look at his political record, you will see that he is head over heels above Colbert Busch in experience. Can't you folks just "get off it" and think about the future of our area for a while. Want another Pelosi? Well, that is what we will have if this newcomer, with absolutely no experience in politics, gets the vote.

I noticed that Sanford was running ads during Mad Men last night. Wonder what demo he's targeting there? And we know why he couldn't bring his son back to his house, you know who was there and she hadn't yet been introduced. We saw what happened when they finally met at his victory party a few months later.

OMG I laughed throughout your whole article, but the unfortunate truth is all of that and more is probably true. I am a democrat true and true....but I got into an argument with one of those viagra toting GOP's (check him out at the Staples in North Charleston) who dared to tell me that Women are emotional voters. I told him - no we are just smarter than they are.

Wow! 1st what a stupid, hypocritical rant.
2nd There are a lot of stupid people in Charleston. And I love liberals bashing Sanford while ignoring all the idiots, criminals, tax evaders, womanizers, cheaters, and worse among leaders of the Democratic party.
Sanford is a saint compared to Kennedy(s), Clinton, and oh yea, that serial cheater and pastor, MLK. So please, just stop, you make yourselves look like idiots!! It is the left after all that says these things don't matter.
@Too Bad - Women are emotional voters. It has been well documented that women often vote based on who they find more attractive. There were countless interviews last year with women saying they agreed with Romney on economic issues, but were voting for Obama because of abortion & contraception. That's sheer stupidity. If Obama keeps fucking up our economy & country things like abortion & contraception will be the least of our worries.
FYI There is no war on women from the right and the president doesn't control abortion. That being said, many Constitutional scholars feel Roe v. Wade was poorly handled by SCOTUS creating bitter divides in America, which is why they will NOT across the board legalize gay marriage. If Roe v. Wade were overturned tomorrow there would still be legalized abortion. Abortion would go back to each state, as it should be. Abortion, drugs, gay marriage, and other emotional social issues are used by the left to hijack presidential elections despite the fact that the Constitution does not give the feds jurisdiction over these issues. These are states rights issues and that's where they should be debated & handled.
If the left really wanted to neutralize and de-emphasize the influence of the Christian right they could very easily do so by removing abortion from the national debate. A place it never belonged.
