Frankly, America needs its balls back. Eat what you want, but protein stuffed with MSG/steroids along with salt and sugar are just that and provide no nutritional value. Chick-fil-a is a business just like a church—just never drink the kool-aid from either!
This article is interesting to me as a gay person, specifically the line where Paul Bowers says,"I support marriage equality. But I'm not going to stop eating at Chick-fil-A."
Here's the thing; you cant support something while knowingly spending your money at an establishment who contributes millions against the thing you're claiming to support. If you have Gay friends and support them then drive across the street and get a chicken sandwich at Wendy's or Burger King or McDonalds or Ms. Winters or KFC or the hundred other places selling chicken sandwiches. If you don't care enough about them not having the same rights as you to walk across the street to another restaurant, then they can probably do without your "support."
If you are Christian and believe that somehow as a member of that group its your responsibility to tell others how their families should look or what type of life they should lead even though it has absolutely no effect on your own family or marriage or private life; go ahead as long as in the next breath you aren't talking about how supportive you are of gay people. You can't have it both ways.
Feck ChickFila for discontinuing the LEMON PIE & also for not supporting marriage equality! I am boycotting that place indefinitely! And that's a lot of revenue they'll lose from my family & business! #assjacks
FINALLY. Thank you!
I met 8th largest Economy.
better to cut what is not necessary for the state during this time of depression, worse times are coming folks so buckle up your seat belts, more cuts are coming for those state workers pensions that will most likely not be able to be paid
Many states and cities in those states are seeing big problems coming . Bankruptcy will have to be declared to stop the unions that have made it bad for many states financial position.Look at Calif. has the 8th biggest Budget in the world. they are in deep trouble. and much of it we find out is because of leadership fraud and cooking the books for decades.
He was my english teacher for 2 years...
One day when I was cutting Skip ReVille's hair I asked him what he had been doing since the last time I'd seen him. He expalined how he was volunteering at a local private school as an assistant principal. When I asked him why he would take on a job like that without receiving a paycheck he told me that he felt it was his "calling". He said that he "felt very passionately about working closely with young children in a christian environment". By the time he left my chair, I was feeling like a lesser person. What a great guy, right?? So selfless in his acts! Not, exactly. A few months later he was arrested and I realized how gullible we all can be. I realized how manipulative predators really are. Until then, I didn't fully understand how much thought and planning pedophiles/sexual predators put into satisfiying their own selfish, sick, twisted desires. I applaud Scarlett Wilson for getting this monster off the streets but I feel that the court let his victims down by only sentencing Skip to 50 years. I'm sure he won't make it out alive, but he essentially took the lives of his victims. His heinous acts forever altered their inner selves and changed whatever path they were currently on in life. None of them are the same person they were before Skip ReVille entered their lives. His victims may still be walking this earth, but they will never live another day without experiencing the horrendous side effects of the abouse they have endured. So, to only give a 50 year sentence is truly an injustice. Life without the possibilty of parole is the very least the court should've given Skip ReVille.
Disgusting. If he touched my son he would be a dead man
Civil rights should never be left to the states.
Fundamental rights should not be left to the states. The Court has told us that the right to marry is fundamental. They had to make that clear against the backdrop of anti-miscegenation laws, in Loving v. Virginia. If you can't be denied the right to marry based on race, there is no legitimate reason for denying the right based on orientation. The people of this country have a fundamental right to choose who they want to marry.
Clarkie loves Soddom and Gomorrah - misquotes and misuses it all the time in the name of God whenever homosexuality is part of the discussion. Isn't it blashemy to use God's name in vain. Not so sinless after all, eh?
Clarkie, you are free to hold anyone or anything in contempt and I am sure many of us would welcome your contempt, if you can reconcile contempt with the teachings of Christ. The question is of law & social practice. Also, are you not embarrassed to use the "of one flesh" trope? What does that mean? As a figurative expression, it's sort of cool, but if we imagine a kind of quasi biological merger, why does it matter what gender the partners were, pre-merger?
Clarkie - When do I get to vote on whether you can marry?
This was not left to congress. it was given to the states to decide what Marriage was and the laws of it . only a man and a woman can re-produce the next generation and a child needs a Father and a Mother to properly raise and teach that child the Moral way to become a Mother or Father , wife or Husband. The very life of a Nation and society hangs in the balance if it destroys the Marriage institution of one Man and one Woman as one flesh. We must remember that the sodomite male or female is a person who perverts that Institution with their Lust (not love) for the same gender in a sexual way.its all about perverted sex and sin . more on this issue later. any state that doesn't ban such immoral standards of sodomite marriages should be held in contempt.
Your poll leaves out a likely option: the courts mandating the right of homosexuals to marry.
The states, not Congress, have always decided mariage laws. If the federal government is going to require same sex marriage (which it should) it needs to occur with the Supreme Court determining that it violates equal protection to deny homosexuals the right to marry.
At&t driver shows no remorse for the life he took and the lives he affected, his DMV reccord shows numerous speeding violations and wreckless driving, yet he paid gladly a $135.00 fine. Still driving , still employed by At&t. Seems future bike riders safety is all that is mentioned anymore. How about changing laws that would not allow this man to ever be behind the wheel,. Does he have to kill again to address this?............................Stumped
This is just another case of "over-reaction" by government... leaving us with a worse option.
As an avid cyclist, and a frequent user of the JIC, I am terribly disappointed in this decision. The connector took a cyclist from a place that was relatively safe, to a place that was relatively safe. The use of a the bridges over the Ashley and the Wappoo cuts is almost suicidal for a cyclist - from the narrow space in which you must ride your bike, to the slippery metal surface, to bike lanes that appear and dissappear. Surely a city like Charleston, which holds itself out as one of the premier cities in our country, can come up with a more imaginative solution. There are far less sophisticated cities that have far more sophisticated transportation infrastructure in which everyone is accounted for. I would urge the politicians and city managers to go back to the drawing board and come up with something worthy of Charleston. This Ban might be politically expedient, but it is highly impractical at best, very dangerous at worst.
If the State of South Carolina really wanted to do something that was worth wild, they would BAN texting, and talking on a cell phone (unless it was hands free) instead of doing something as STUPID as this. The death on the JI Connector had nothing to do with the cyclist, it had to do with the inattentative driver in the AT&T van who was either talking or texting on his cell phone instead of paying attention to what he was doing.
