I LOVE Skoogies and we go there on a regular basis, driving all the way from Goose Creek. I know their Chicago style hot dog seems to be quite popular, but my personal favorite is the polish dog with Chili and Mustard (i love the chili!) and my husband gets the roast beef melt. Also, the fries are great too.. and the seasoning ... now I want Skoogies lol.
Best dogs in Charleston, hands down.
Seppy's Hotdogs is a wonderful addition to Mt. Pleasant! You must try the Seppy dog. Delicious!
welcome to my neighborhood eastbound curb lane veers South along Magnolia from Ashley River Road which also ends here becoming Andrews Boulevard, no "saints" anywhere in my world... plenty of parking, follow your nose to many great food joints, music, dance & great neighbors many shops & only a few religious fanatics
This place is off the chain. I have not tasted a hot dog this good since I left "The House of Franks" in New Jersey that closed some years ago.
Love this place, Crave it almost.
Cheese Fries = Awesome
Cheese Fries + Bacon = More Awesome!
Dogs are great too, they aren't the huge beefy ones, but that's okay, the toppings are what really shine at Jacks. The Jamaican Relish is quite addictive.
From a born and raised Chicagoan, Skoogie's is authentic. Outside of Chicago, it's hard to find a place that can replicate such culinary genius as a Chicago Style hot dog, but Skoookie's nailed it. I'm happy to have a piece of home in Mount Pleasant.
Excellent hot dogs. I love the fries too. Such a wide selection of dogs. This is my favorite hot dog place by far.
I love the atomic dog, fries and an orange soda. The ice cream kicks ass too.
how to make the undesireable absolutely amazing don't know how but this place is great.
FYI, they just opened another Johnny's at Sweetgrass Ace Hardware across from the Oakland Market in Mt. Pleasant. Parking is much easier and it's the same great food!!!
These guys will rock your face!! Great music. Buy their CD!
The Lost River Cavemen are the best! ENJOY!!
This place has the best dogs in Charleston hands down. The blue cheese coleslaw and sweet potato mustard are so unique and tasty. Great atmosphere too.
Great food, cheap drinks, great fun!
Blue Cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, and grilled onions....on a hotdog. need I say more?
I went to Jack's last year with my mom for the first time and we both liked it a lot. I have seen it advertised and talked about a lot over the years and then decided to visit. My mom loved the old antiques. It's definitely a new twist on hot dogs. But I don't like sweet potatoes so I didn't eat that. When you go, bring the kids and a camera!
I still crave the Skoogie dog "all the way" whenever I drive on Coleman Blvd in Mt P. When I'm really hungry I also get a chili slaw dog. Yum. Don't forget the seasoned fries.
I am simply mind-boggled by the negative reviews here. Jack's Cosmic Dogs is the best hot dog joint I have ever been to. Honestly, 5 Guys makes a very good dog, but Jack's is still top notch. Alton Brown, of the Food Network, says this joint makes the best hot dogs he's ever had. When people come to visit me, this is top on their list of places to go for lunch.
Their fries are also phenomenal, especially if you like peanut oil and shoestring fries. Short of duck fat double fried, these are basically as good as it gets. The Rover pork roll, black bean cake, and some of the other items (still served in a hot dog bun) are also fantastic, showing these guys aren't just a one trick pony.
There's a good kitchy atmosphere, with root beer floats, old road side decor, etc.
Quite simply, professional national food critics rave about this place. People who visit will go out of their way to eat here (see the picture of Bill Clinton on their website). Do not listen to the naysayers, this is a must eat in Charleston.
Great hot dogs and breakfast sandwiches. Parking nightmare
