Wonderful people, Amazing place!
Re: chapmanbates review
This is the thing that ticks me off about poor restaurant service especially when you've been in the food and bev. business for years. A salad which costs about $2.00 in ingredients to make can be comped easily at no loss to a restaurant with the hope someone sees this as an act of faith to get a costumer back in again, improve quality, and gain more business from rave reviews.
As far as I'm concerned I'll never go to this place. Hopefully the management will read these comments and improve things quickly or perhaps comment on the poor service and why it is this way.
Last weekend.... ate here but with:
poor service-a blonde waitress who was more interested in talking with guys at the bar than seating us/serving us. Food only mediocre...the guy singing as entertainment was SO loud we could not carry on a conversation at our table.
Finally, Miss Waitress brought the check...I was to get back a few dollars and change. She brought the dollars but not the change...too lazy to count out the coins and thinking SHE would be keeping the change as part of her tip?
She did NOT get a grand tip from me, far from it.
Last time here.
For the last few years I have been aware that almost all of the food I have ordered here was mediocre with the occasional above average dish. Which I have been fine with me because for some reason I have always wanted to support Med Bistro and before that Med Deli, when the food was good. However, last Sunday my experience went beyond bad and I have to comment on it. I ordered a the pecan chicken salad and when it arrived it was truly one of the worst salads I have ever had. Extremely tasteless and bland and by the time the server asked how it was, I had no appetite any longer. I told her how bad it was and she asked if there was anything else she could bring me and I told her no. She took my plate with only @ 10% of it eaten and that was that or so I thought. When the bill came the salad was still on it... No manager came by to see why I had sent the meal back or for a discussion and there were only @ 6 tables at the time we were served. So I paid for it and on the bottom I said that I will never be back and I won't. When I said to the waitress that I was shocked that I was charged for such a bad meal she told me that she had asked the manager to remove it from the bill and was told no. Now, I was in food and beverage for 10 years and have never seen anything like this. I guess it goes to show that even the managers and owners have decided that bad food it too bad for the customer that ordered it. I will never be returning and I encourage all people reading this to stop bland food and stop supporting resturants that no longer seem to care about their customers or what kind of quality comes out of their kitchen. Thank you.
this place is in a bad location safety-wise.
I Have been an artist for 51 years. I met Robert Lang 3 years ago and have been impressed with him, his work and agree he has one of best gallerie's in South Carolina if not one of the best in the entire Southeast. I'm opening a Gallery in downtown Charleston with my business partner and his wife. We agree that Robert Lang will continue to grow and be one of the finest artists in the Country. Cudo's to Robert and his wife. Terry Richard
They transform the entire gallery every month for a new show that is full of exciting, contemporary art. The artists are inventive, contemporary artists ranging from traditionally trained artists to photographers to pop-artists. A great contemporary art gallery in Charleston!
Beautiful landscapes, if you are into landscapes I have run into a spectacular local artist, Kellie Jacobs at Hamlet Fine Art Gallery at 7 Broad Street Charleston. Check out her work for the most sublime pastels and gorgeous oils depicting lowcountry landscapes, marsh scenes and beach scenes. you have to see her work!
One of Charleston's best kept secrets!
This was OK because the food was bland. The tomato pesto soup tasted like crushed tomatoes, with very little flavor, yet still fresh. The risotto was not true to it's Italian roots, just tasted like firm rice with cream sauce and a few chopped veggies. I will say that the scallops were cooked just right, but the remainder of the dish was bland. On a good note, the atmosphere was nice and they had a great little trio playing.
This is a must, for women and men!
No other facility in Charleston offers, under one roof, classes ( both in-house and outreach ), inexpensive studio space and great shows. That said, the physical facility should expand or move, to showcase better this wide range of much-needed program; all this, and non-profit too. Great job by its new staff!
This restaurant was by far the best restaurant I have been to in years. Our waitress was lovely and the atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner, while remaining intimate, yet somewhat casual. You can turn the surroundings into whatever you want them to be, casual and fun, or elegant and sophisticated. The food was incredible and the wine too! Plus, we didn't even have to wait long at all on a Friday evening. AND, the prices are great for what you get... I strongly recommend Med Bistro to anyone.
