We love the Break Room and everyone there! They have the best food! (Thank you, Nate!) Tony is the best bartender ever...we met "Bartender Bobby" the other night and he did a great job. Bobby is a very nice person! Good prices. The regulars there are the nicest people you would ever want to meet...Jan, Pete, Steve, Jerry, Missy, Jake, and of course...Willie :) just to name a few of the many. Great, very friendly, welcoming crowd. The Break Room is upscale without being snooty. We found the Break Room quite a while ago and we have become "Vacation Regulars"! Yo amo Barsa! This place is just fantastic and the folks running it make it all come together beautifully. The food is fresh, tasty and authentic for the most part- after all, we're in South Carolina and there are limits. But, having said that, overall it's a great dining and drinking experience with friendly professional servers and a top notch bartender (the evening we were there it was Brittany) who was very pleasant, very quick and attentive to a packed bar. The kitchen put out meticulous, beautifully presented dishes and everything we ate was tops. Gracias Barsa. We will be back! Again and again and again.
Went there for dinner and drinks last Thursday and it was fantastic! The casual atmosphere was fun and inviting. The Sangrias are amazing and only $4 on Thursdays by the way. The service was good but the food was even better. We had the calamari and steak crostini among other things. Delicious. My friends and I have been looking for a good tapas restaurant and I think we've found it. We'll definitely be back. Looking forward to trying their new lunch menu! The bar at the new place in Mt Pleasant stinks. Disinterested and ignorant head bartender (Patrick), bimbo assistant bartender (Liz) ...... warm beer.
We went for brunch today, and at 11:45 we were the only people there. We started with Bombay Sapphire bloody Marys and I ordered the prosciutto benedict. My my partner got the steak and eggs. The bloodys were good, but I was a little put off when I saw the bartender open a can of V8 and pour it into the shaker. I'm not sure why, I know it's commonly used, but for some reason it annoyed me. I guess I'm becoming one of "those people."
The food was very good. My benedict was two thick pieces of toasted bread topped with poached eggs and a green olive hollandaise sauce. I didn't taste any green olive and the bread was a little thick and awkward, but it was tasty. The fries I got as a side were freshly made, thinly sliced, and delicious. My partner's steak was cooked nicely and his over easy eggs were done correctly. I was a little annoyed that the "onion and pepper hash" he ordered was actually home fries with onions and peppers. If it had said that on the menu I would have ordered it.
The best part: the total bill was $24.

Went to Barsa last saturday evening. Busy, but not unmanageable as is often the case on King Street. My friend and I sat at the bar and had fantastic service from Brittany. Drinks came promptly and were generous. As the small plates began to arrive (we were hungry and ordered seven of them), other wait staff pitched in to keep things moving with fresh utensiles and plates....We had a great evening thanks to a kitchen who can produce terrific food and a staff who cares enough to provide great service. Run, don't walk....Just don't take my corner of the bar.
My bff and I enjoyed some pre-event drinks and tapas at Barsa Saturday night. The wine selection is varied and reasonably priced, we shared the dates, calamari and scallops. Next time we will be getting our own scallops, they were perfectly pan seared and the pumpkin broth gave a nice winter touch to the light scallops. We both agreed that the atmosphere would be great for date night and there were plenty of dishes that the men would enjoy too.
Love the atmosphere and ambiance - sophisticated and elitist while still offering a totally chill environment. Music is awesome and love to sit back and enjoy a hookah on occasion. Easily my favorite hang out in all of Charleston. Torch knows how to do things right!
Had a great time at Chai's a couple weeks ago. a bunch of F&B friends from in and out of town equaled a lot of ordering, sampling and drinking. The service was great, the atmosphere inside and out was great, the food was at an awesome price! F&B during happy hour on Mondays means you get two seperate special menus to order from. Really well done!
Torch is a great place to go for a good time. Great bartenders and waitresses. They make you feel welcome and their service is great. DJ MOO MOO was there the night we stopped in and he was terrific. Will definitely go back again with my friends. You meet some interesting people at Torch. You have got to stop in.
The food here is GREAT! Wonderful selection and perfectly-sized portions. I live nearby and I don't eat there often enough! I normally sit at the bar and the bartenders are always friendly and talkative - quick to make a suggestion, depending on what you're in the mood for. Great wine list. The atmosphere is very nice, but still comfortable if you're having a casual night. Highly recommended!

Had dinner here last night and thought it was fantastic. Started off with the Pisco Disco and it was so damn good. A little too good as i finished it pretty quickly. Wednesday is also half price wine but my finance wasn't interested in drinking last night and I know I would have had a crucial headache if i finished a bottle on my own. We had the ceviche, salad, and garlic mushrooms to start off and they were all great. My favorite had to be the ceviche. We then had the seafood paella. The seafood was great but i found the rice to be rather salty. Service was great and venue beautiful. I definitely recommend.
Food was good service was horrible, the manager kept running around like a maniac turning the lights down so low I had to use my cell phone to see my food.
I'm a bit intrigued by the hit and miss reviews here. I went last night 9AUG, and it was definitely a hit. I sat at the bar and ordered three (I was hungry and in need of comfort food--don't judge) dishes: Steak Crostini (10), Salmon Tar Tar (8), and the BLT (13). I also had the house red wine (5/glass). Service was great, the wine was poured generously, and the food was delicious. I did notice on my check that the wine was billed at 5.50/glass instead of the 5 noted on the menu. This was very quickly corrected.
I'll definitely be back.

This might be one of the bigger jokes in the Charleston area. Granted, the place has been updated nicely - and the dj is great - BUT, we arent in Vegas fellas. The rude doorman/bouncers with their ear pieces and tough guy attitudes is laughable. Pricey drinks and bartenders who make you feel lucky to get served doesn't last long here. Best was a fight in the parking lot at 2 AM. Mount Pleasant people! Take it to N Chuck!
