Total Garbage. Do not get a CSA from them. They claim they grow their own produce, but alas, all they grow is more and more paranoid and resentful. When asked where the produce came from they claimed it was from their farm. I went on a tour of the farm and there is nothing growing there. At all.

Truly an icon, we love this guy! He completes our Saturday morning farmers market jaunts with his cart o' deliciousness. Summertime floods in with bold and juicy favorites that are full of flavor. Strawberry Basil, Thai Tea, Honeysuckle Lime, Hibiscus Pom, Fruity Pebbles, Salted Caramel the list goes on and on with flavors constantly changing with what is fresh and ripe at that time. True, its frozen but you can be sure it was only frozen a week ago at most. I don't know how he keeps up with the demand. Inventive and constantly throwing me a curve ball with new flavors, I have a hard time staying steady with my all-time favorites and am known to cheat on them with the flirty new flavor of the day. The King is keeping it local by using local products and we love that. At Pet Fest, he even made dog cups too. (Our dog Mojo loved his!) Make room in your day to find his cart (I believe he tweets locations)...it'll be a sweet 10 minutes of me time (and perhaps your dog too if you share.)
OMG, I had the fried flounder! It was perfectly seasoned & fried!!!!
Consistently fresh seafood and cheap prices bring us back to Wando frequently. We have purchased shrimp, oysters, flounder, sea bass, and sheepshead from them, and always enjoyed the meal. The staff is always kind and cheerful. I am glad we have a hidden spot like this in Mt P.
Rita has transformed our backyard into a garden producing veggies, flowers, and fruits year-round. Her knowledge of organic agriculture is vast and her enthusiasm is contagious! We highly recommend Rita's Backyard Harvest program to bring the most healthy and delicious bounty to your table!
We love how Rita has transformed our yard into a year-round-producing garden of organic vegetables, flowers, and fruits. Her knowledge is tremendous and her enthusiasm is contagious, and the veggies taste so much better than those shipped from many miles away. We highly recommend her services!
I saw in the Moultrie News we missed an opportunity to purchase shrimp baskets and benefit local fisherman. Everyone I know in the area would love this opportunity. Please "friend" me or something and I will pass the word along when you host another event like this!!
I should have posted this comment a long time ago. As I drove by Christophe Artisan Chocolatier today, and was reminded of the terrible experience I had with the people who own this business, and I needed to vent about it.
In 2011, I purchased a Groupon coupon for $40.00 assortment of Christophe's chocolates. The deal was run just before Valentine's Day, so I decided to use my coupon on chocolates for my boyfriend, who is a chocoholic. When I called in a week before the holiday, I was told that the chocolatier was swamped with Valentine's Day orders, and they wouldn't be able to fill my order at that time. I understood how busy they were, and decided to redeem my coupon at a later date.
I called them several times, and each time I was given the runaround. I was told to call another number, but no one answered the phone at that phone number. At one point someone took my phone number and promised to call me back. No one called me back, and after numerous unsuccessful attempts to redeem my coupon, I gave up. So I was out $20.00.
If business owners offer Groupon deals and take our money, they should be responsible enough to make good on the deal we bought.
Garlic crabs we're delicious. Wish it was a small restaurant where you could sit and enjoy your food. It's still a good place to swing by and pick something up.
This coffee is simply the freshest most delicious coffee available.
It's almost Farmers market time again. They will be at all the old familiar places. You can also see them at the Flowertown Festival.
This is an awesome place to run in and grab a bite to eat or pick up some fresh seafood. The cooks are awesome here!!! Shame they don't have a bigger kitchen and more crew, they could be ruling the lowcountry!
They changed how good my recipes taste!
My faves are the African 5 Spice & Espresso Steak Rub (I even put this in Pasta Sauce!)
best. pickles. ever. this is not a joke.
And also, the corn maze died according to the owner. You can't control nature, so it seems like they used innovation instead of giving up. They cut a maze through hedges. Alot of work goes into the upkeep of the place. The questions also did not seem unfriendly to a child either. It woudl be hard to have a maze that suited everyone if the questions throughout were suited to four year olds.
Actually the farms seem alot of fun to me. It was completely family friendly (except for haunted hay ride). Boone Hall is more well known, but that does not make it better. I saw many kids going through the maze and did fine. People seemed to have a lot of fun
When my 4 year old twins and I arrived to Legare Farms, we saw signs leading us to a 'CORN' maze; however, the maze turned out to be a non-children friendly 'MYRTLE' maze. The path desperately needs to be bush hogged so children can walk through the path without becoming scratched/scraped up by tall grasses and tree limbs. As for the 'fun' questions, the game was too advanced for young kids. The whole experience of Legare Farms was mediocre in my opinion. After going through the Myrtle maze, my family and I did not even want to take the hay ride. I strongly suggest taking the kids to Boone Hall Plantation instead for a fun-filled day with your young ones.
Re: “The Green Door”
Unique place with excellent food!!!
