Don't judge a restaurant by its exterior design. I came to Charleston with 7 other family members from Maryland. We met 4 other family members from myrtle beach at the memorial park. We went on the boat trip together and after 2 1/2 hours on a boat and an island EVERYBODY was starving !! We pulled up google maps and found this magnificent restaurant tucked away in this strange neighborhood with great reviews. We walked in and were immediately were greeted by Chef Frisco. We looked at the menu and were easily impressed. The workers and the chef were so kind and humble and didn't mind making small talk. THE FOOD WITH NO DOUBT WAS DELICIOUS!! (Especially the sweet potato fries!) I can't remember what my family of 12 ordered and I definitely can't remember what I ordered because everybody tried other peoples food because of how impressed they were. He even through in a couple of free plates( for who knows why) We walked in and saw there dessert menu. It had bread pudding, red velvet cake, peach cobbler, and possibly a couple of other things. Everybody wanted to try each and every one of the desserts but we were told they sold out at lunch time- it gets busy around lunch. We made it a point to come back and try the dessert later on in our a vacation and we were not at all disappointed. EASILY THE BEST SERVICE AND FOOD IN CHARLESTON AND THAT IVE HAD IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS !! IF YOUR IN CHARLESTON GO TO THE CAJUN KOUNTRY KITCHEN CAFE!! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU WENT! (We even got a picture with the chef !!! )

I have been to New Orleans on numerous occasions and always enjoyed its cuisine. I just finished a plate of jambalaya from this place and it was excellent! The Chef even came out to explain the ingredients and thanked me for coming in. I hope Charleston continues to support this place with its somewhat unique offering. I look forward to returning and spreading the word!
The food was amazing! My family and I were on vacation in Charleston and had read about this place over the internet. We couldn't have asked for more friendlier service. The chef even came out and introduced himself and answered our questions about the different types of dishes they offered. We tried the aligator, crocodile, and boudin balls. They were cooked to perfection!!!

Best kept secret. Unbelievably cheap. You got to try the Boudin Balls. Incredible.
This place is great. Food is outstanding, Chef Frisco a breath of fresh air. Yeah, you'll wait a while, but it's worth the wait. This certainly is better than the stand-in-line franchises with the boring range of cuisine. Try it, you'll love it!
This was my first time eating here! We will go back!! WOW wonderful food!! The best since we ate at a small place in the bayou of Lousianna! Well worth trying!
My wife and I went there a few times and always had a great experience. Its not a cookie cutter same old chain type restaurant. Most restaurant's daily specials are merely whatever they have too much of that is about to go bad. At Cajun Kountry the specials are more of an off-beat change from the normal menu. We tried to expand our horizons and order something different every time. There are plenty of things to have there that you will not find on anyone else's menu.
