We love this place! The Cheesesteaks are fantastic.
Everything I have ever thought less of Charleston for has finally arrived. Thank goodness for these retro hippie amazingly creative individuals. I will never leave unless you don't stay. THEALLEY CHARLESTON
BEER UNIVERSITY IS AWESOME!
We’ve been to Rutledge Cab Co twice. Our first trip was the second weekend they were open….Yep, had to wait an hour but the bar was full and fun so it wasn’t a major hardship. Enjoyed the food and service, they were jammed so we gave them a break on having to wait longer than expected for our meal. We had dinner there last night, it was awesome. Fish Sandwich was the best I’ve had. Our friend loved the Chopped Salad. We got seated right away and the service was smooth. Looks like they’ve got it together. I really wanted to like this place...... Looks like Wagner Terrace has a new hangout and a good one at that.
We thought RCC was great, and I have heard nothing but positives from everyone else I know who has been there. The grilled spicy wings were great, different than the usual fried variety. Drinks were also good and staff was all very friendly. I only saw a couple of menu items that looked over priced, one of which I ordered but it was still delicious. We will be back soon to try the burger, pizzas, and the BLT benedict...
The service was excellent- Tara took wonderful care of us and made fabulous recommendations! The food was very good, although not quite as great as expected. However the staff as well as the atmosphere more than made up for cuisine not meeting the (admittedly high) expectations I had. The outside dining area is also VERY cool- we will certainly be back when the weather warms up!
this well appointed bistro has great rooms, booths and out door seating... the ribs were perfect last night and the beer compliments a great menu... ORIGINAL MS ROSE may be a new refurbished place, but it's a winner on Sam Rittenberg, Sue & I love it
I really wish I lived closer to Castaway's because it is such a chill, spacious bar for happy hour or to grab a bite. They have the usual pub fare but fancy it up with pasta dishes and a pork chop entree. I always make sure to go once a month on the Tuesday when they have a stand up comedy night. I'm usually not a big fan of stand up, especially when I'm not familiar with the comedians because I hate when I have to force myself to awkwardly laugh, but I've been three times and they've never disappointed! It doesn't hurt that they have super cheap beer and a $2 vodka special. I'd highly recommend!!
Back home is an awesome place for great food and drinks. very friendly staff and a good place to just let go!!! Im a former employee of the bar i quit about two months ago. I go back for drinks once in a while and will continue to go. please everyone help thisw bar continue to be one of the only good places in WEST ASHLEY TO HAVE FUN @. cheese curds are awesome but i hated making them. Good luck guys. GO G-MEN!!!!!
CPH is my go to Mt P dinner spot on most weekends. The food is consistently good and the tap beer selection tends to be the best in town (in most cases). I have probably tried every burger on the menu, and they are all delicious. I usually order my burgers rare, and am never disappointed. This quality of beef was not meant to be ordered well done. So damn juicy! The lamb sliders are fantastic, but I found out they can also make you a Big Lamb (full sized lamb burger) which takes it to another level. The truffle fries are evil, with that perfect touch of salty truffle oil flavor and a light sprinkle of Parmesan. Lately, I have been ordering the Fish and Chips, as they seem to know how to do that dish better than most places around CHS. My only complaint is that the beer prices can occasionally be on the high side, but it doesn't deter me from ordering a few brews before and during dinner. If you love burgers and craft beer, CPH should be your new home.
I am a big fan of the shelter. What they did architecturally to maximize and create a terraced open space from an existing structure is super. They have had time to refine their menu as well and some of their items really stand out, like their shrimp dip, which is an especially well crafted version of an already excellent local recipe. I think the place is an innovative treat.
In response to "Sacred Arrow", this is the most ludicrous, meritless and I would even go as far as to call it slanderous review of a restaurant. This is a family owned restaurant, the owners and employees are extremely hard working to make it a successful place. I go there regularly and have never once witnessed any type of drug use or "marijuana" being smoked in the bathrooms or elsewhere. Especially being that many of my friends who are off-duty and retired police officers patron the place. Majority of whom are friends with the owner. Please keep your false reviews to yourself.
Fun place to go with great music... Schema plays there a lot & they are definitely worth checking out! Always a great crowd, nice bartenders, & good food. Their fried pickles & fried green tomatoes are awesome... The Lowcountry Eggrolls are one of my favorites as well! To the person that did not have good service, I would certainly say give the Shelter another chance! They were really packed the first few weeks of being open. Go try a Hurricane & enjoy the nice fall weather :)
Finally a restaurant where you can feel good about what you're eating all the time. Love Verde! They are a welcomed addition to King Street.
Had the best burger I've had in months at Shelter! AWESOME!
This place is great! They remodeled the old On the Border building. Wonderful job!
Food is excellent! Swordfish with tomato avocado and Filet with chimichurri sauce is amazing! Wait staff is well trained and willing to please. We will be back!!!
Back Home Bar and Grill serves up delicious food with great service. The menu offers something for everyone, and everything is really, really good. With its homemade bread and tender, perfectly seasoned beef, the Philly Cheese Steak is authentic and delicious and the Carnegie Deli-inspired Reuben is the best you'll find this side of NYC. And the fries...... they're fresh-cut and crisp, without being greasy.
We'll be back soon to try the Maine Lobster Roll!!
This place has the most beautiful sunset in Charleston! On top of that the food is pretty good, too! It's a little hard to find but GPS takes you there....but 2079 Austin Avenue - -it's off King Street and we found our directions at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdAu40e3nO… - - and go alllll the way back to the very last building (2079C). You have to walk up a spiral staircase to get there (and they don't have an elevator).
You can get there by boat which is much easier and were surprised to find that they had more than 20 slips to park in (it looks like the restaurant has the dedicated dock in the middle).
We would have brought our dog had we known that the deck was doggy friendly - we know now!
Great little bar with great food and comfortable atmosphere. Friendly staff and always some kind of entertainment happening. Great place for the early birds to flock to.
Re: “Early Bird Diner”
This is a special place. It makes you feel very hip and cool just going there,The only place that i would eat grits, and the chicken and waffles is a must have.
