Re: “Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack

Really hard to find good food/music in one place. Buddy Roe's excellent food and some of the best entertainment on the East Coast, constantly bringing in a variety of well know acts to add to the already great Ronnie and Chris show. Don't miss it if in the Mt. Pleasant/Charleston area!!

Re: “Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack

My husband (Boyd) and I love to go to Buddy Roe's --- the atmosphere is one of being at home --- very friendly -- reminds one of the bar on "Cheers" where everyone knows your name ---

Kim & Ronnie are great -- they always make everyone feel so at home -- they go around and speak to everyone there -- the staff cannot be better -- just great. It is so nice that as soon as you walk in the door, the waitress is on her way to you with your wine. I love it.

Great food -- their pimento cheese hamburgers are awesome -- homemade pimento cheese by Kim.

Music: you are not going to get any better --Ronnie is so talented -- plays and sings very well, but also has a great personality. And Kim is a great entertainer also.
There is always a nice variety of music -- we are big "shaggers" and he always accommodates us --

In case, you cannot tell, Buddy Roe's is one of our very favorite places to go -- only issue that we have is that most nights, the music does not start until 9:00pm and we are about ready to go home by then (we are of the older generation, but still love to have a good time.)

Buddy Roe's is highly recommended by the Loadholts -- Ronnie & Kim, we love you.

Re: “Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack

Ronnie Johnson & his lovely wife and staff have been supporting local live music for years. This past year they have graciously hosted traveling songwriters and numerous benefits for musicians who are sick or in dire straits. The fried shrimp are su-pah!

Re: “Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack

One of the best kept secrets in the Charleston area. It's where the locals like to go and hang out. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. Ronnie is a fantastic entertainer and his music will have you dancing the night away. It's one of our favorite places to go. It's kid friendly as well!

If you are looking for a place to dance the night away - look no further. The food is great and the band is even better. The open deck is awesome.

Buddiroe's should definitely should be apart of your weekend plans!

Re: “Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack

So you want a Local Place that doesn't take your wallet and throw it in the Marsh? A place you can hear great tunes, talk to the cool bartenders and eat LOCAL SHRIMP!?! Then go to Buddy Roes. No, they are not paying me! I just think this place is spiffy since Ronnie bought this eye sore next door to me and opened The Shrimp Shack! I even took my Uncle Bobby to shag... he loved it! Try the Shrimp Basket GRILLED with the Hot Bacon Sauce! yum.... and you have to try the fish tacos. Better than POE'S! Love it... always a great time. Thanks guys! You're awesome! xo

Re: “Neil Jordan's Steakhouse

Love Neil Jordans. The Allen Brothers steaks are incredible. Atmosphere good and in particular, the bar area rocks, especially when Allen is holding court behind the bar. Allen is great at what he does and is the 2nd best bartender in a 2 mile radius!

Go one and you'll be hooked! Neil Jordans is a dining destrination experience-especially the bar!

Re: “High Cotton

Was in for dinner last night, and once again they did not disappoint!!! The pork belly appetizer with apple tart is off the charts!!!! They just expanded their bar and music to trios and a whole new mix of musicians. This place has been around for over 10 years, and there is a very good reason why. It's a must whether you live in Charleston or visiting for a long weekend

Friendly staff, great food. Seafood is always fresh and cocktail list has a variety of interesting drinks. Upscale without being pretentious. Love it!

Re: “Social

Great pizzas, great wine selection. I was actually surprised at their extensive craft beer selection as well. Young, hip ambience made for a nice change from other downtown restaurants.

Re: “FIG

My husband and I ate at FIG last night with a group of friends, and the food and service were both phenomenal! They were more than willing to accommodate the size of our group, and did a great job explaining each item on the menu. We started with the Sheep's Milk Ricotta gnocchi, which had such a great flavor, and was prepared perfectly. My husband could not stop raving about the Strube Ranch Wagyu Bistro Steak, which he claimed was one of the best steaks he had eaten. We ended with a dessert of sorghum cake, with an amaretto ice cream, that came highly recommended by our server. He couldn't have been more right, as this dessert was heaven in your mouth.
Overall, wonderful experience! Our glasses stayed full all night, the food was original and full of flavor, and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go again, and would highly recommend!

Innovative, fresh tasting burgers with incredible side options. Not your run-of-the mill Burgers and Fries.. unless of course that's what you want!
