So you want a Local Place that doesn't take your wallet and throw it in the Marsh? A place you can hear great tunes, talk to the cool bartenders and eat LOCAL SHRIMP!?! Then go to Buddy Roes. No, they are not paying me! I just think this place is spiffy since Ronnie bought this eye sore next door to me and opened The Shrimp Shack! I even took my Uncle Bobby to shag... he loved it! Try the Shrimp Basket GRILLED with the Hot Bacon Sauce! yum.... and you have to try the fish tacos. Better than POE'S! Love it... always a great time. Thanks guys! You're awesome! xo

Great pizza & wings. We had great service. Staff was really friendly & fun. Prices are fantastic. Wide selection of craft beers on tap. Lots of TV's to watch any game you want. Well worth the trip.

Great venue for Rock shows. The bands are usually B or C level headliners but the opening bands are always up and comers. I am going to see Rumour Has Wings tonight and will prob. leave before Ice. The Drowning Pool show they had was sick.

I came into town as part of a touring band and had probably the best experience of the four weeks we spent on the road. The staff from the owners to the bartenders were all extremely friendly and helpful and took great care of us. As one who has spent seven years working in bars (and many more frequenting them), I thought it was an ace staff top to bottom with great service, perfect drinks and just the right kind of food, in price and selection, for a hungry band on the road. They handled the lone out-of-line drunk you're going to experience in any crowded bar with professionalism AND authority, a hard balance to achieve.
Don't mean to gush, but The Mill is and will always be in my mind an oasis on the road.

Never had a bad time at the Mill, agree totally with CEdge. If a bartender anywhere is mad at someone, it's usually because they deserve it! Like the atmosphere of the Mill, it's what an actual BAR is supposed to be like!

The Mill RAWKS! It is def. one of the coolest places to hang in Charleston..the staff is on their toes and ready to serve...the have GREAT music...cool retro furniture... local art on the walls...and the food is actually purdy good...if you want to escape the douchbaggery of Charleston, and go somewhere cool, this is the place

The Mill is by far the best bar in North Charleston, no make that the entire Charleston area. The art, the music, the food, the events and of course the beer...no bar does it better. Don't listen to some of the idiotic comments posted, I've never met better bartenders. The bartender commented on the most respectable barkeep I've ever come across. You should be so lucky be served by him. Give respect to get respect.

Our favorite place in all of Charleston. The atmosphere is so laid back and Carolina Beach you want to kick off your shoes, have some shrimp and a cold one. Their food is all fresh, local and incredible. The owners Ronnie & Kim Johnson go out their way to make everyone feel they are the most important person in the place. Ronnie Johnson may be the best artist in the Southeast much less Charleston. You really got to hear & see his show. To sum it up, this is the place in Charleston for great food, great friends, and fabulous music.

Chef Adam Palmeno from Key West is a great addition to BuddyRoe's with his BaHa Fish Tacos and Seared Tuna. He adds another great reason to visit this cool beachy spot that the New York Post called "the sleeper hit of the day". They also have live music and musicians like Jeff Cook of the super group "Alabama" sittin in when in town.
Hey, but don't just take my word....try it for yourself......taste is in the "Shrimp"!

I have tried them all and as far as a cool, local spot to hang....Its worth the trip! I was really suprised at the food, GREAT! Staff was friendly and the outdoor patio was as good as it gets. Cool crowd too, really diverse.

I dont know where these other guys ate.....probably two rivers but the food at the Daniel Island Grille Rocks!!!!!$3 well drinks and $2.50 beers....expensive? I was a customer there first but am part of the DIG family now and every meal I have had there is GREAT!!! Got some haters out there who want to see the top dog go down! Fish Tacos blow away Poes
