Food is good but not great, but the space is really beautiful!
we always have great service and food is outstanding ...maybe we are just very friendly people and the employees recognize this..there manager always comes over and asks how we have been even remembering our daughter by name ...we drive from Isle of Palms to eat there..but we are original James Island Rams ..thanks love it!!!
I have been there about a dozen times since they opened. I like the food a lot and have never noticed an attitude by the cashier/bartender or the wait staff.
Great to go here, sit and watch the chef, chat, drink wine and enjoy the courses.
I must admit, this afternoon at Leon's, was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We sat at your oyster bar, and made me feel like I was at Acme's or Felix's oyster bar. The best part was we we're here in our own home of Charleston,
eating select oysters from Light House point I believe from Va. They were outstanding and sipping on a original Coors Banquet draft. Your entire wait staff made our dining experience even more pleasurable. I believe his name was Tom, great job by him, and your new bar keeper.
We ate a half dozen of the oysters, which were spot on, and we both had the 2 piece fried chicken, the best I've ever had, along with the Cauliflower soup, which will have me coming back for another bowl.
Awesome show!!! Great talent and wonderful message! Great way to start your Holiday season!
I frequent Halls quite often both for personal enjoyment and for business entertainment. I have never had a bad time, a bad meal or a bad experience. It has always been over the top good in all 3 categories. We are fortunate to have the Hall family and Hall's Chophouse here in Charleston!
What I'm reviewing is the event coming up this weekend at Atomacon (www.Atomacon.org). A while back I had an idea and with Janet Millwater Iannantuono to bring a sci-fi/fantasy/comic convention to North Charleston since it would have good room to grow as these cons have tended to explode in massive numbers over the past few years. Since I'm a busy artist that travels and works quite a bit, I decided to just do the show instead of trying to help run it. That being said, Janet and her Daughter Michelle have done a nice job starting this show up last year and this will be the second year for the convention. It will be held in North Charleston at the InnPlace Charleston Airport Hotel - It's the hotel that was for years the Marriott and then the Sheraton right next to the neon movie theater which I admit, I love the neon work they did years ago on that building since you CAN'T miss it. This small, family friendly convention will have comics/sci-fi/fantasy/Gothic-horror and gamer art, books, products for sale and gaming as well. It's a convention for the inner geek which it's now "sheek to be geek". There will be Authors, Artists, discussion panels, Cosplay, Gaming - you name it; it will probably be there along with the Ghostbusters complete with the EctoMobile. Last year it was a nice fun crowd and we had a good time. R2D2 will probably be there as well. Yes, he looks just like if not better than the one from the movies and he works! If you would like to have a small version of Comic Con in North Charleston continue and grow, come out and support the artists, authors and vendors of collectibles of sci-fi and fantasy and enjoy yourself. It's a good time for the children as most festivals in Charleston seem to involve drinking and country music and I doubt very seriously there will be a county band there, but there will be the Gothic music of Valentine Wolf and more amazing activities to experience, see and enjoy. Remember, it starts this Friday - Sunday. So go to the website www.Atomacon.org and get your memberships or you can certainly buy them at the door. Don't miss it. Oh, I'll have my art on display there as well. “www.jameshillgallery.com.
Atmosphere nice, food great, owners southern! I have lived in the south my entire life..most of these reviews are from people that haven't! Never be rude about a lady and her family because of a meal you thought was ok to begin with apparently they are working hard to make it great experience . Hatefulness go back up north!
Their menu has been updated, they have a great new chef formerly from Oak Steakhouse and this guy cooks his ass off. Have had a dozen great meals there over the last few months. Super delicious and prices are now very reasonable.
I went there recently. The food was excellent, the service average (a few reminders to the server were needed to get things). I will go back for sure. Good gyoza and hotate sushi, in particular.
I go every other Wednesday night for bike night. Wing special is great. Good little hole in the wall check it out
Well worth the visit. Some of the best oysters I've had in a long time.
I've eaten at Bushido many times and enjoyed it- i wouldn't say it's anything outstanding but I live quite close and appreciate knowing I can rely on them for consistently good sushi if I get a craving or can't bring myself to cook dinner after work!
For the city paper folks: the link info provided with this write up is incorrect. I just located their actual site, bushidojapaneserestaurant.com.
I live in Charleston, I went there for Gospel Sunday Brunch with a group of friends and I love it! I plan to go back for the Sunday Brunch. I'd Shake Billy Hall's hand anytime.
I finally made it to Georgean's without the sweltering weather hindering my appetite. The hosts are great and make you feel like long lost patrons. I was, for the most part, very pleased with my jerk chicken, cauliflower mash, and mac & cheese. I was hoping that the jerk had more Caribbean heat and spice, but the chicken was very, very, tender. My portion of mac & cheese was a little on the slim side but since it was late afternoon they may have been running low. Maybe I should ask to bump up the heat/spice on my next visit. All in all, go and support this tiny gem with the hopes that they can move to bigger digs equipped with air conditioning and tables.
I've been there several times. Speaking focused on the food, beverage, decor and service while ignoring the prices, I had a great experience each time. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. But my one reservation is the price point. The small plates have almost always been tasty, but $11-$14 for really small plates, or $12 for the same beer that other establishments of good quality charge $6-$8, that does annoy me. I know EO doesn't need my business, but I would go more often if prices were tuned down a bit for middle class folks.
Went here for the first time last week after hearing about it and was pleased with the experience. Apps and entree's were a hit. Will be back!
So glad the prices come down on the garlic crabs now that they're in abundance.....also have fresh local shrimp and they are good...nothing like fresh seafood from our coast....the garlic crabs can be messy but are great and enjoyed them very much....
We were visiting Charleston so I took my boyfriend there for Father's Day. I'm from Charleston and it is one of my favorite spot. It was his first time there but he enjoyed everything. We both had the seafood platter and YES the scallops were the best. We look forward to visiting again soon with other family and friends.
