we always have great service and food is outstanding ...maybe we are just very friendly people and the employees recognize this..there manager always comes over and asks how we have been even remembering our daughter by name ...we drive from Isle of Palms to eat there..but we are original James Island Rams ..thanks love it!!!
I've had BBQ Joint food fairly regularly since the day they opened and I've never had a bad experience nor anything but welcoming service. These negative reviews sound way too personal. Regardless, I've never had any hesitation about recommending their food to anyone for lunch or catering. I've had the competitors' product from all other mentioned places and BBQ Joint is right there with 'em.
Moose's moved to Summerville and we couldn't be happier. We are also happy to see the buffet is still alive and well at Moose's after the move. The pulled pork is moist and full of smoke, and they do a good job of picking out the fat..all of which we love. If you don't smell smoke or see a wood pile, its time to move to another BBQ place. The brisket is also delicious, coming from someone who had a whole lot of brisket in Texas where its an art form. I also see things like Pork Loin that you don't expect but are delighted when offered on a buffet. The cobbler does leave something to be desired but the Banana Pudding hits the mark. Sides aren't the best I've had in town...Home Team has beat them by a mile in that area, but for the price and the drive, we make it regularly from the peninsula and were so thrilled that we don't have to drive to Monck's Corner anymore! Keep up the great work!
Some of the most legit BBQ in charleston. Wednesday is rib day, definitely hit it up! The sides are stellar and the cornbread is soft and moist. Didn't need any sauce at all, i did put some hot sauce on the collards though, mostly because i can't have a meal without hot sauce...
Been there a few times, no problems at all. The food was Awesome! Brisket & BBQ best in the area. Having the ability to travel in Texas, Memphis & ST Louis, I still find the BBQ in the South so much better. I maybe spoiled, but there is nothing like getting Pork, chicken, ribs, whatever straight off the smoker, Sauce optional, as real BBQ does not need any.
The only drawback is a few bartenders do ignore "Non Regulars". I was overcharged for beers which I did not order or drink. So it happens, but more then once? Shame on them. I learned to bring in cash & pay as I go, problem solved! Tell them I tip at the end, got better service.
Since I haven't had the chance to attend I'll give the pub/BarBQ the benefit of the doubt. Through my observation of most of all of the above, it may me true that the neightborhood does not want the establishment located there.
Dj Miketech is what makes the saloon the place to be on the weekends. The bar staff is nice, but they keep killing all the good songs with their so called mic skills.
After 1130. They shouldn't do anything but serve drinks. The Dj can handle the crowd.... Love the saloon. The only place I want to be on the weekends.
great bbq at a great price - im not sure what durg50 is saying, as lunch was 6 bucks flat out the door...
this place is located on rivers ave in a old wendys building. they have one type of sauce ..and its very good - everyone from work i was with liked the bbq - and liked the fact that you pay what is what is listed on the menu...cant go wrong with this place.
I normally don't comment on anything like this but I feel like the Smoky Oak has been taking a lot of heat for there service. So I would like to share my experience at the Taproom as we now call it. My husband and I normally sit at the bar when we go out, but the first time we went the bar was full so we sat at a table. We were greeted by a great smile and really friendly server named Jen. She gave us suggestions on beer and food. Never once did our drinks run out, although our food took a second to get there it didn't become an issue because we were enjoying ourselves. The food was definitely worth the wait and the service was great! At this point we have been back several times. Each time it gets better and better. I will say when Jen is not our server it is not always the same experience. Now we just make sure we sit with her if the bar is full. We have noticed some new faces and hope they follow her lead. This is a new restaurant that has small issues just like anywhere new would but they are minor for the great food and staff. This place is just what JI needed! My hopes are that people keep in mind that this is a small family owned restaurant that is just getting started. So to all the staff and the taproom... keep working hard and doing what your doing there are some of us that notice the progression and are happy with your service.
get the ribs, expensive but falling off the bone and damn good ! been there about 20 times always the same . got to love the consistency.
