Re: “Virginia's on King

My boyfriend and I ate at Virginia's for dinner Friday night. We were really excited to try the place but were very disappointed at just about everything that we ordered. The so-called "Corn Fritters" were basically large greasy pancakes with no discernible corn in them. When the meals finally arrived, everything on the plate was lukewarm except for the meat. I had the fried chicken and my boyfriend had the country fried steak. Both were coated in the same rosemary-laden breading. The rosemary was so strong that it overpowered all other flavors of the meat. As mentioned, all of the sides were server lukewarm if not cold. The mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese had zero flavor. Basically, the place seems to cater to tourists who don't know what actual southern cooking tastes like. This is the only way we could figure as to why they are still open after 3 years. I wonder how much repeat business this place gets...(and we are not even going to discuss the service)
