Club house is nice and setting is okay. I stayed at 4108 unit and could not say enough bad things. Water damage in the bathroom led to mold issue that was unending. Owner decided to change tile in both bathrooms during my stay- I was forced to move out for a week. Told I would be compensated but after lease ended of course I received no refund. Carpets are stained and appliances are the lowest grade. STAY AWAY
"I humbly ask the ownership to take note of these trends in comments. I just hope they get this bit corrected."
Seeing as how you copied and pasted this exact same post from 2 years ago, I'd say you have your answer. They're too cool to give a shit about customer service. And after 10 pm they're too wasted to give a shit.
Republic lost all credibility with us...Thursday night found us looking forward to the Third Annual School Supply Drive at Republic. (http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/charleston/third-annual-school-supply-drive-at-republic/Event?oid=5349300) We shopped for supplies, having fun thinking about when WE were back in school so many years ago, and looking forward to an evening of cocktails and supporting a good cause. On the way over the bridge, we even heard an advertisement for the event.
Imagine our surprise when the host knew nothing about the event. So we went to the bar and found out...nothing. No one knew anything about the event. We asked several other patrons who were also holding book bags of school supplies. Nothing. Finally, one gentleman at the bar said a manager had come out, and bought him a drink, but that event was cancelled. So we asked to see a manager. We were told he was out (at 10:00 p.m. on a Thursday??).
We figured we would enjoy a cocktail at least, to salvage the evening. We stood at the bar (with 5 empty stools), and a bartender directly in front of us, wiping glasses, for over 7 minutes. No acknowledgement, no order, nothing. And two other bartenders at the end, talking to each other.
At this, we gave up and left. Yesterday, we stopped by Mamie Whitesides Elementary, and dropped off the supplies to an extremely grateful Ms. Pounder, the principal, working outside at the school doing landscaping.
Republic, you dropped the ball on this in a big way...
P.S. Does it seem absurd that a bar bans ball caps inside, but then is selling a ball cap with their name on it?
"Best fried coconut ice cream with raspberry sauce, ever!!!"
...and everything else is simply the worst, ever!
Not smoke free. The addicts sit at an outside bar and blow smoke across to the inside of the building.
Why doesn't this site have a listing of problems people have and who they call to resolve them? I need to know who to contact about installing a culvert so I may construct a driveway to my property. Also, to whom do I speak about missing street signs? Minor issues such as these could be listed without having to tie up personnel in the office. Giving a list of nearby restaurants doesn't seem the primary business of the Town.
Avoid this guy. He takes your money and never does the work. Please be sure to google/research his "business." There has been many complaints, court cases, etc. Don't let this man take advantage of your money. He has a reputation for never showing up to complete the work after he has been paid. Please AVOID this guy, there are plenty more reputable companies out there.
Bad food, bad service, zero ambiance. Every time I go here I regret it. Tattooed Moose Johns Island can't open soon enough.
Food itself is great, but after catching serious attitude from the staff multiple times(NOT Cory himself), I decided to stop patronizing this place. One example is ordering food over the phone and the owner, Cory, takes my order, and he tells me that it will be ready no earlier than 30 mins from now because they have to get more of a type of cheese necessary to make that sandwich. When I show up 25 mins later, don't roll your eyes and say "FINALLY" when I arrive, telling me that I am 15 mins late.
I had the occasion to visit the area for the first time today. I asked around about a good place to eat lunch near the water and was told about Vickery's. But I'm sorry to say that I was not thrilled. First of all, the hostess never said a word when I walked in. She just gave me a weird look. I had to do the speaking. That should be a huge no-no. Part of her job should be greeting customers with a smile. She, honestly, was pretty unfriendly. I chose lemonade for a beverage and it was okay but tasted flat. The slaw I had was unedible. It was bitter and tasted terrible. I'm not sure if it was bad or not but I wasn't going to take a chance. I chose the fried shrimp and they were good but I was surprised at how tiny they were. The fries were lukewarm and wimpy. All in all, I spent $23 for a lunch that, in my opinion, was of far less quality than Red Lobster. I was pretty disappointed.
Poor Management!!! Terrible Service, Unfriendly, and nasty attitudes. Will NEVER visit again!!
I went a few times when they first opened. The service was terribly slow. The food was hit and miss.
As has been stated by others, these guys do not know how to make sushi rice, for some reason. It is wet and soggy. The flavor is not correct for sushi rice.
The last straw was when I went to get some takeout. I bought quite a bit because I like to snack on it all night. When I got home and took it out, the tuna had thick white stripes. This is not fat, it is connective tissue or gristle from a part of the steak that you should never use to make nigiri sushi with. I tried one piece, and had to spit it out. It was like eating a rubber band. I could not force myself to swallow it.
I drove straight back there, and told them I wanted my money back (which they did without argument). When I got back in the car to go home, I noticed it smelled like someone had farted in there. That's how bad the fish was.
I will never go back.
Overpriced. Average food. WEIRD management. I have never been to a restaurant with such intrusive owners. It is CREEPY. Go to wikipedia and look up pompous and you will see Billy's face. So many better options in this city. Don't bother.
Had the worst experience today. I paid for a hand wash / wax for $25.00 only to get a hand wash ONLY. A couple of months ago, I purchased a hand wash / wax for the same amount $25.00. Today, the Mgr Will, refused to wax the car stating that $25.00 was for the hand wash only. NOT RIGHT. Bait and switch....I think so. You can go thru the machine in the same amount of time, and you get WAX. The finish team does the vacuum and windows in either case....why spend the extra money only to get scammed.
Dr. McGill talked me into signing a contract on a Monday, and then informed me that he was retiring that Wednesday. He should have informed me of his retirement while I was signing my contract, instead of deceiving me to believe that he would be my chiropractor. His replacement is a pompous man that did not look over my X-rays before treating me, which is dangerous, if not life-threatening. We also had a differing opinion on health (he does not believe in vaccinations) and he began making fun of my beliefs, calling me "an argumentative girl". By the end of my contract, I felt unwelcome by the chiropractor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.
Nope. Jules1990 is right - they are total rip-off artists. Acting as if they are doing you a favor by trying to sell someone else's junk at a 500% mark-up. Save yourself some time & just go to Goodwill or Habitat ReStores...at least the people who work there are friendly. If I could give Consign Charleston .25 stars, I would.
God if ONLY I could rate this s*** hole with less stars. Let me start this out by saying I work in retail management and I have never seen such a horrifying display of "customer service" in my entire career. My fiance and I were shopping here looking to furnish our recently purchased home. He was checking out an old storage trunk and went to open it to check out the condition of the inside when the unsecured glass top slid off and shattered, a surprise seeing that there was no "do not open" sign anywhere and the trunk itself wasn't locked. Being that we are good people and have shopped there before we agreed to pay to replace the glass top ($55) but not after one of the employees said that we would potentially have to pay full price for the item ($1200), yeah not going to happen especially considering that an accidental damage like this is covered under THEIR insurance and we legally didn't have to pay to replace the glass in the first place. Not only did no one bother to ask if we were okay after being stuck surrounded by broken glass, but they demanded that they get a copy of his licence and credit card information (which by the way is ILLEGAL). When the glass was ready from the shop (two blocks away from Consign Charleston) my fiance called to see if they would be able to pick it up since we live 45 minutes away and he was stuck working overtime. The woman of the phone promptly told him that "he could have been half way (to the shop) already if he'd stop complaining", and then threatened to charge his credit card if he didn't get it delivered that same day. I have since tried to get in contact with the manager twice since this has happened so we could rectify the issue, and both times I was told that she was not there and that I'd have to come back later (I had to pry information for a name and time when she'd be there). I'm very happy to have experienced this before we made any major buys from them, and I hope that they are very happy with the $55 glass top and not the $9,600+ we've spent on furnishings at their competitor's shops since this incident.
I wanted SO BADLY to like this place. With only a few hookah bars in downtown (Tabbouli, Paradiso, and Smoking Lamp), it is high time for Charleston to up its game. But this just isn't the place. Yes, the interior looks nice - for now. But with the same owners as Torch, I suspect that it may go downhill and feel dirty just like the previous bar.
The place really has an identity crisis. "Moroccan" theme, with an Indian name, serving Turkish food, and with Latino ownership? The decor is nice, though far from authentic, but more importantly - the hookahs are AWFUL! It is actually embarassing to watch their employees make them.. it's clear they have no idea what they are doing. Moreover, they have no idea what the pricing is.. I visited three times and ordered the EXACT same hookah each time, and was charged different prices by different employees each time. Upon bringing this up, they got extremely confrontational and did not provide any sort of menu that listed their pricing.
Aside from rude employees and a lack of identity, the crowd was really the most off-putting aspect of this (bar? club? restuarant? hookah lounge?).. It is fine on a laid-back weeknight, but the location of the bar BEHIND the hookah lounge is just a bad idea. Excuse me as I'm enjoying my smoke, I do not want to see some blacked-out girl hiking up her dress and sloppily making out with some guy as she nearly knocks over my hookah. Really just an awkward place overall, and so sad to see that what could have been an awesome concept was so poorly executed.
So disappointed in our meal tonight. Veggies way over salted. Fish over cooked. Crab cakes mostly filler, very little crab. Have had better meals at Huddle House. Easily worst restaurant east of Pacific. Hipster waiter only told us about specials he liked, said others "weren't good." Avoid Mt. Pleasant location.
Worst food experience I have ever had at this restaurant. It all started out with a simple misunderstanding about the menu. It all finished with me vowing to never go back again.
