Healthy, delicious, fast food with the best cookies in the world and Boylan soda! So glad this restaurant is expanding to Mount Pleasant!
Well for starters jwfscmtp ur dumb i was born n raised on James island bagle cafe was bagel nation but changed the same and both places here and mount p have the exact same menus! But bagel cafe is by far the best of the two and my orders are always correct and deliciousness! Unfortunately I moved to north charleston but I still make the drive just for the bagels!! Thank y'all for being the most delicious place I know!
I really like the spot. They have great food and a terrific atmosphere.
I will preface this review by saying we went on Father's Day, so I knew it would be 'blown up' with people. I arrived 30 minutes ahead of my group to put our name on the list b/c we had 7 people in our party & I figured they would need to combine 2 tables or something, so I was trying to think ahead. The hostess looked put out when i said there were 7 people and said things like, "well, we dont really have tables for 7, can you split tables?" and "if everyone isnt here when we call you, we have to skip you." I appreciated the honesty, but not the attitude it came with. Well, when they called us, 5 of the 7 folks were present (the other 2 were trying to find a parking spot). We explained this and when the hostess walked away, she said "Well, I cant hold a 7 top for people who arent here" to a waitress. 5 of the 7 of us WERE right there, and we were going to sit and order coffees/mimosas, etc. They sat us at a 5 top and told us the other 2 would have to sit 'over there' -- totally across the room. SO, she wasnt holding a 7 top, then, right?! We actually asked the waitress if there was any way to squeeze 2 extra chairs at our current table & she was nice enough to suggest we add the adjacent 2 top she had (couple there were paying bill). Once we got settled and ordered, the food came out pretty quickly and was decent enough for breakfast fare, although nothing 'spectacular'. The other posters are right, this place really seems to cater to tourists and shoots for quantity over quality experience. I hadnt been here in a while and probably would try other places before returning again.
Finally got out here Saturday night......Damn!! Actually the best burgers I've had in Charleston and you've got to try the Sloppy Fries. Only glitch we had was wife insists her beef is destroyed and the color of shoe leather. When I told the server that she didn't like the Medium doneness, he apologized (unnecessary), took it back to the kitchen, returned with it shortly, apologized again and offered to replace it if it still wasn't right. It was perfect, the service, especially for a burger joint, was friendly and over-the-top the food was exceptional and, by comparison, if some of the prices charged for Downtown burgers are justified, then this place is the best bargain around.
AGAIN......and when might 'BABY FAT' be returning to ARTS.....if they are still together...they're a truly good sounding bunch of guys...:) :) :) :) ...and it's all SUPER good while listening-watching them at ARTS.....

......and when might you book 'The Beach Brothers' again...that's Frankie McNeil, Mike Suggs and others, please...:) :) :)... I enjoyed a great meal at Tru Blues, the last time I was there when 'The Beach Brothers' were your entertainment....:)
I've been twice and think it's a nice little neighborhood place. The crust on our pizzas was crackly and black in a few places, which I liked. The Del Re was salty goodness, and my toddler loved his cheese and fried egg pizza. I wasn't as excited about their take on sausage and mushroom, but it still was perfectly fine. I wouldn't visit Crust for a special occasion, necessarily, but I'm glad to have another solid option for a weekday lunch or dinner.
La Nortena is El Jefe in Charleston.
Interesting - I like the because it is greasy, just like the ones I grew up on back in NY.
Also- what happened to all of the other comments that used to be here - why were they deleted?
Love it!! Great people great service. Wings were amazing
My favorite taco truck, hands down. Cheap and extremely filling, as well as plenty of choices.
It would be fantastic if you could just add RightOnQue barbeque to your vendors! We appreciate your article, we really enjoy being a food vendor at the Charleston Farmers Market!
RightOnQue food vendor uses Joseph Fields Farms vegetables and fruits in our weekly Saturday offerings at the Charleston Farmers Market (Marion Square). We buy his produce for personal use as well, the fresh organic farming really is evident in the flavor! We appreciate their business!!
I don't enjoy Norms at all. Mediocre burgers and pizza that tastes and smells rotten. But it's near the college, which is why I think it's popular.
Great pizza. I very much enjoy this pizza. Not greasy at all and a good selection of toppings. Crust tastes just like mom used to make.
I've had terrible experiences every time I've been to this Cinebarre, and I've given way too many chances. The first time I went, the food came out cold. We chalked it up to them being busy and decided to let it pass. The second time we went, we limited ourselves to just a plate of fries. Who can mess up fries? We wrote off the food for good once they also came out stale and cold. The third time we went, I stuck to just candy because there is no way you can mess up Milk Duds! Wrong. The waiter walked by my ticket three times and STILL never took it! Considering he actually stopped in front of my ticket and still ignored my order made matters even worse. Even so, I decided to give them one more chance.
This last time I went was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant. I stuck with two beers before the show started, a fail-proof route. Everything was fine until it reached the last thirty minutes and I sat waiting for my card and receipt to be returned. I spent the last part of my movie experience stressing over where my credit card was and how everyone else in my row had theirs except me. By the time the movie ended I still had no card. Turns out she had given it to someone sitting two seats down from me.
Alright, so by now I'm throwing in my towel for Cinebarre. I wrote on my receipt that she had given my credit card to the wrong person and wrote a line through the tip. That was the first time in my life that I've never left a tip, and coming from someone who has worked food and bev for ten years that must mean something.
I go to check my bank statement a few days later, and the waitress wrote her own tip in.
I repeat : SHE WROTE HER OWN TIP IN.
After I had left a note saying she had given my card to the wrong person.
So my waitress went behind my back and stole her tip even after I had explained why I wasn't leaving one.
To make matters worse, it took me three days of calling to actually get ahold of the manager. When she finally found my receipt and admitted that she had in fact written in her own tip, all she said was sorry. In no way, shape, or form did she offer anything to convince me to come back or even that the waitress would be reprimanded.
Like I mentioned before, I've worked in the food and bev industry for ten years and NEVER, EVER is it acceptable to steal your own tip.
I recommend never going to Cinebarre unless you want to deal with terrible food, even worse service, and incompetent managers!
Visited Paige's Incredible Edibles twice, will be back for many more lunches. You get a really tasty sandwich with a small side for less than $7. I've had the cherry chicken salad and the turkey mango sandwiches. Foccacia Pizza is next on the list.
Re: “Hank's Seafood Restaurant”
Good food and service. Apparently we have gone to the wrong restaurants before now because we found Charleston to be lacking good restaurants ....way too much fried food but Hanks delivered. Thanks!!!
