Once you get your "tech" worked out, you can conquer the English language and learn to spell.

Re: “Husk Restaurant

So goodfoodonly... I did not join yesterday all my tech got infected so I made a new account. It's not at all my intention to write only negative reviews I just happened to have some pretty shit food last week. As for the soles of my shoes... at least they are more traveled and have had more experiences than a meal here would garnish. I have a multitude of places I enjoy dining in Chaleston I live, work, and eat here and love our food culture! Just not he unwaranted hype!!!!!!! As far as black bean is concerned you can shove it and go stand in line for a $14 semi good "artisan" dinky ass sandwhich with the rest of the know it all hipster elite.

Re: “Husk Restaurant

Bland, no imagination, local-shmocal give me some flavor. Sure beans taste good by them selves and we are ALL SO IMPRESSED by the fact that they were lovingly displaced from the dirt by the tender hands of Shaun Brock but I think professonal cooks should do something besided lean on the product. Most good cooks can make a solid tomto taste great! We should be looking to the pro's to elevate it something else and these guys just don't! Hey did I mention you're going to spend your whole paycheck here. As a working cook in this town I don't want to eat food I could make at home AND spend a weeks worth of labor on it. ONE STAR for food the other one is for service bc they managed not to eff that up.

Re: “Juanita Greenberg's

Too much Greenberg and not enough Juanita .. Food is way too heavy on beans & lettuce .. Actually quite pedestrian unless you've had so many beers you can't tell they served up cardboard with sauce over it ..

Re: “Moe's Crosstown Tavern

The old gray mare just ain't what she used to be. That great staff is gone. What used to be a good 8oz burger. Is now a 7oz burger even though the menu still say's 8oz. Everything i used to know and love about this local dive bar is gone. The half priced wings at happy hour, gone! Price did not go though as they are the only thing that stayed..$6.00 fireball shot Wow!!My one beer and a fire ball shooter were over $11.00. Guess i'll go to the recovery room get a PBR and watch the beatnik's fight!! bye bye Moe's you had a good run while it lasted! I can't wait to see what fills that building once Moe's folds.

Re: “Tommy Condon's Irish Pub & Seafood Restaurant

I've been to Condon's on a number of occasions, and find the food adequate, but certainly not Irish. The best thing about the place is the draft beer selection. Although expensive, it allows one an opportunity to sample beers from all over the world. The music at night is entertaining and peppy, but Condon's is definitely set up for the occasional tourist visit. It appears to be doing well in that regard.

Re: “Tommy Condon's Irish Pub & Seafood Restaurant

Apparently the food is only good on weekends. We went last Monday and I had to send my steak back because it was nothing but fat. My husband's shrimp and grits were gritty. There was trash and flies in the windowsill while the waitstaff stood around and talked. Not to mention the table was sticky. Very dissatisfied.

Re: “Cypress Lowcountry Grille

I went to Cypress for the first time last night for Restaurant Week. It cost $90 with tip for two restaurant week dinners and a martini - the martini (Lavender) was the only thing worth paying for.

Started with Lobster Bisque - it was okay. I had the Koren Beef BBQ for dinner and the first four or five bites tasted like nothing but char and ash from the grill. The rice and veggies were lackluster and overall I decided I'd rather save the calories for dessert. Bad idea. The Pecan Pie was horrible. One of the worst desserts I've ever had during restaurant week. It was small and round and I had to hold on to it with my hand in order to cut the crust. The middle was dry and it was just...definitely not good.

As someone who looks forward to restaurant week each September/January and really enjoys trying new places I can't normally afford, I was very dissappointed to have wasted my money here. If I ever go again, it will be to get a Lavender Martini from the bar upstairs - I'll eat dinner somewhere else.

Re: “Cha Cha's Tequila Bar

I'm giving it three stars only because I know it can be more consistent. I know they had a rough start and I was hearing some really bad things about the food, but the last three times I've been in it's been really spot on good.
I think they had some serious kinks to work out, but as far as somewhere new, affordable and good to go on James Island, I've been loving it at Cha Cha's.
I mean: Pork Belly taco with roasted bananas and crunchy peanut butter!!
I like non traditional approaches to food and they are making some really interesting and good combinations.

Re: “39 Rue De Jean

My wife and I went in for a late supper Saturday night close to ten o'clock, pre-Built to Spill at the Farm, after the Grocery messed up our reservations. We had the foie, the beef tartar, the sweetbreads and the charcuterie. Everything was delicious. Nice to see an old school place still doing well.

Re: “Diamonds North

As you can see from their website, the women there are okay/average. Nothing much to write home about. A lot of these women are young and trying to earn money for college or their kids. I know that most people consider strip clubs to be a seedy place to work, but I am more critical of the men who come here than the women who work there. Guys who are old enough to be the fathers of these women should not be going there every weekend. And, if you go there, be a gentleman and treat these women like ladies. It is, after all, a gentleman's club.

Re: “Back Home Bar & Grill

This place is a nice addtion to the West Ashley area, near the Blockbuster. They have a pretty unique menu with different famous items that are not found in Charleston. Horseshoe open faced sandwich, a Primanti Bros. style sandwich, Philly cheese steak, lobster roll, and pork cutlet. The Roni rolls area huge with giant hunks of solid pepperoni. Fried cheese curds were really good too (although I have never had the real Wisconsin style). If this isnt already obvious you will not be leaving hungry, the portions are giant. The decore is sparse, but there are at least a dozen large flatscreens plasted everywhere. The owners are attentive and were very helpful with all menu items. THey have a large selection of house infused liquors as well. I would probably be back to watch a game and grab a bite/beer.

Oscar's has been a main stay in Summerville for 30 years and is consistant in serving great food, providing excellent customer service and affordable prices. It's for sure on my list of favorites!

Re: “Halls Chophouse

Worst meal of my life.
I've traveled to hundreds of USA cities and several dozen other countries.

If you want to be physically molested, handshakes, hands on your back, your hand handed off to the next person guidng you to your table:
If you want to spend OVER 50% of your time making converstation with owners and staff continuously and aggresively interupting your meal:
If you want to drop $100 per person (everything is ala carte) as even the house steak sauce is an additional $3 (Really?):
If you want good to awesome food interupted with a family (think drunk family thanksgiving with the weird, center of attention, grabby Uncle) style experience:

This is your place.

I would not go back for anything including work or family.

Re: “King Street Grille

Ate here over the weekend and had the chicken sliders. They were terrible and I will never eat here again. The chicken was the saltiest chicken I have ever eaten. My friend had a turkey and roast beef club and it was super salty also. We drank a ton of water later that evening due to the high salt content in our food. The french fries were tasty except greasy in nature.
