This place closed it's doors over a year ago...but it was a great Venue to hear great musicians.......
This club sucks if for some reason the bouncer or the Asian mafia there doesn't
Like your look. I was there and only for maybe 15 or 30 min. In that time I met some great fun people. Then I needed to use the restroom which is down a sketchy hallway. As I left 2 thugs grabbed me ,beat me and broke my rib. For no apparent reason. I was leaving the next day or I would have pursued an assault charge. I am planning on calling the local police there. But I am thinking it won't go anywhere. You are warned.
Really fun! Looking forward to it! All ages, all skills!
A fantastic venue with a nice atmosphere, a fast wood floor, and plenty of seating with chairs and tables to make yourself comfortable.
This club SUCKS! I ended up going to the dive next door Big Guns! First of all, I had to explain my outfit to the stupid ass bouncers who said what I had on was not appropriate. (Deisel brand sneakers, Takeshy Italian jeans, an Armani jacket and a Ralph Lauren pull over, yeah over 400 dollars of apparel.) After my explanation and entering the club, I see everybody in outdated pleated Roundtree & York pants and antebellum Claiborne dress shirts with loafers that had rubber soles!! And that's just the start. I get there and everybody is standing on the floor NOT dancing, and the music was 90s rap remixed. I came there to dance, so I did. When I wanted a drink the dizzy, dyed blonds recognizes everybody but me! (and my friend and I were the only off-colored people there, so noticing us is like noticing a black furred rabbit in snow). I highly defend them for not recognizing me because of my skin tone, just poor service. After we get the drinks, which were decent, a fight breaks out and they let a guy who was blacked out back in the club! After that, I just left to BIG GUNS next door, and ENJOYED the rest of my night there.
I wouldn't go there ever again, even if I purchased JCPenny's brand pants.
Out of business! Disconnected phone # !
I HEARD WALE IS COMING TO MUSIC FARM ON MARCH 1, 2012 IS THAT TRUE? IF SO HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS. ALSO WHO'S GOING?
Folks , do you know what is the most dangerous Drug, that kills more people than crack, or meth. ?
NV Dance Lounge is the weekend hot spot on the market- period. All the good-looking, people-in-the-know will be there. That's a true story. For those of you who are dissing the place, I'm gonna guess you were refused entry for being out of dress code or...are just plain cheap. It's an upscale dance club. If you don't know what that means, Google it! You gotta be dressed to impressed to get in. It keeps the riff raff (like those posted above me) out of the club! Go to Purple Tree. Oh wait, that closed because of gang violence. dang. I guess theres always the North Charleston "clubs". I'm reminded of the Chris Brown song "I don't know why youre hating from outside the club, you can't even get in!" ---- NV is where its at! closest thing you'll find to a REAL nightclub in Chas #realtalk
What a joke. Any night club that has the dress code at the door isn't what I'd call "upscale". If you're into slores wearing heeled suede boots that come up to their thighs, oozing insecurity and low self esteem all while holding a vodka CRaNnn and sexily sippin' on their strawwz, then dive in my friend. Oh yeah, take some new facebook profile pix with palmetto shots while you're there.
Love the atmosphere and ambiance - sophisticated and elitist while still offering a totally chill environment. Music is awesome and love to sit back and enjoy a hookah on occasion. Easily my favorite hang out in all of Charleston. Torch knows how to do things right!
Torch is a great place to go for a good time. Great bartenders and waitresses. They make you feel welcome and their service is great. DJ MOO MOO was there the night we stopped in and he was terrific. Will definitely go back again with my friends. You meet some interesting people at Torch. You have got to stop in.
If you're talking about the Shane Pruitt band show on the 25th, FCB, the advertisement on page 75 of my copy of the CP says "doors@9PM", while the listing on page 78 merely says "9PM". If you want to be strict about it they didn't "advertise" the show to start at 9, but it was "listed" that way. Don't blame the venue, I'd wager that the other venues that charged a cover also didn't start their shows at the time "listed" in the CP.
If we're talking about the 25th I'm glad you made it out to Loggerheads for the Old You show, they are one of my absolute favorites!
Best atmosphere for a music venue in town and continues to bring in top notch acts for a very good price. The deck may be my favorite bar in town
Artee, it was advertised right here in the City Paper as starting at 9. If the band starts at 10 then it should be advertised as such. What time the doors open is irrelevant. Most places open their doors at noon, should they advertise their show starting time as such, if the band starts at 10?
When I left there, I went to Loggerheads, where the advertisement said 10, and sure enough, the band was playing at 10.
FCB, they OPEN the doors at 9pm (usually, but sometimes earlier for "early" shows...depends on the band). Don't expect the band to start when the doors open, that's just silly. If you go to a sporting event would you expect them to open the gates at kick-off/first pitch/tip-off time? Sorry you won't be back, they have some of the best music in town at (usually) very reasonable door prices.
I took off one star because you cannot get a PBR for $1.50 anymore. It's $2 during happy hour (which ends too early, IMO...and I'm not alone in that). Will I stop going? No way! Too much good music and too many good people for that.
(Perhaps someone could rewrite the description to reflect the raised drink prices...?)
I've about had it with these places that advertise 9 o'clock starting times but then the band doesn't start until 10:15.
Turned and left when they told me that.
I was there for the Badd Kitty Lingerie Masquerade.. and had a blast! two very enthusiastic thumbs up... Fred Krugrr was a bad ass D.J., Jimbo was bartending himself, and there was just a lot really cool, fun people.. for a change, in west ashley anyway; usually not my fav scene or people out there. but i'm glad i went, it was ALL REALLY GOOD TIMES:)
IS IT A COMPLIMENT TO CALL IT, "B.T.N."? (BETTER THAN NOTHING)...LOL.UGG.
