Best burger in town. Don't know what they are talking about in terms of right wing antics. I have been there a thousand times and never heard one discussion. Plus the owner is not a guy (I don't think), the wait staff is friendly, and the food is set at a very good price for the portions you get (I can never finish). Pretty funny reading the comments on the right wing stuff, as long shoremen go there all the time. You can smoke in there which is probably a turn-off for most, but there is always take-out!
right wing political and publically antigay as if i want to have a beer and listen to unsolicited nonsense. better places elsewhere for food, service and friendliness.
I finally found a great place to have a good time. Smokey's Place is a great place to sit down and relax. I missed the lunch speacial but they have them Mon-Fri from 11-7 and always some thing different each day. So I had the philly cheese steak and OMG it was the best philly I had in my life! ( No B/S) IDK what they put in in but it works!!! I't now my spot after work, and Sun is my day cause of the Blues Jam. Momma Rulz!
Smokeys Place is one of the most friendly, laid back, come-as-you-are places in town. He has live music every weekend and the bands sound great due to a large stage and excellent acoustics. The food is fantastic. Just as the sign out front says...He has the "best dang burgers in town". The wings are awesome too.
The owner gave me a political sermon (including his POV on immigration) within 5 minutes of sitting down for the first (and last time). No thanks.
These people have no idea what they're talking about! Smokey's is one of the best bars I've seen in town by far! Very nice, clean place, excellent food (highly exceed expectations of your typical bar menu), and outstanding service! The bartenders are not just hot, but they're super friendly and are always on top of things! This place is not what it used to be- major improvement! Live bands and the Blues Bash are rockin', great food, cold beer, good prices, friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and all around good times...... what more could you ask for?! This place definately deserves a second look.
was totally ignored by blond bartender who saw me turned her back and never turned towards me again ,,goes along with insulting staff ,,,o yeah insulting open mic night , The Mill wraps circles in hospitality and Open mic with young mi. oh once the dudes from Lowcountry Blues came to the Mill and asked Young Mi if she could stick them up front...like they were stars ,,they are corpes
Gross food. Insulting staff. Cheap for a reason.
i love shooters! friday nights and saturday nights are the best!!
we went applied for membership, met the owner a wonderful lady, and went back the next night and had a great time .. we shot some pool on brand new lookin tables threw some darts which isnt my specialty but tried .. then we sang some karaoke and that karaoke lady even made me sound pretty good somehow ? (back up vocals)...Seemed like a really cool place they had a great jukebox (after the karaoke)..lots of neat video games.. just an all around fun place to take your date and have some fun singing, drinking and eating, also Playing a few games of pool ,darts or whatever ...we will for sure be going there alot in the near future , we had a great time !
Is it really the worst? We are talking about Ladson.
The worst bar in Ladson and there are a lot of bad bars in Ladson!!
Well this is NOT the bar at Dorchester Lanes. This is a small little road side bar. Very nice people with A LOT of regulars. It is a private club. When we showed up we had to pay to join and wait 24 hours. But there was a nice few people that signed us in as guests. Darts, Pool and shuffle board are on the games menu here. The Karoke was not really a stage area but more of a anywhere in the bar kinda thing. Kinda Neat. If your not a smoker do not go. Other than that a nice place.
It took me a while to figure it out from its advertising, but this is Dorchester Lanes' bar. Good karaoke with friendly, low-key Rocky (don't let the sleeveless t-shirt and tattoos fool you,) who can sing better than anybody else in the room, but prefers to let his customers have the spotlight. Music ranges from classic soul and other AM radio classics (from oldies to Southern Rock) and Country of all vintages. I sang Elvis here once and was immediately purchased a beer and asked to sing "Jackson" as a duet. It's that kind of place. And yet this is probably the most racially diverse (well...biverse--we're in the South, you know) crowd in town.
They got pool tables to keep you (and your non-singing friends) busy between songs, room to dance, beer on tap, bowling in the next room, and a Waffle House within staggering distance. I mean, dang, bo, what more you gonna ask?
