Great staff, good food, good drinks. Music is not too loud, tv spacing good too. Wifi seems to be hit or miss though, depending where you're sitting. My boyfriend and I LOVE coming here. Shoutout to Jake!

I had the occasion to visit the area for the first time today. I asked around about a good place to eat lunch near the water and was told about Vickery's. But I'm sorry to say that I was not thrilled. First of all, the hostess never said a word when I walked in. She just gave me a weird look. I had to do the speaking. That should be a huge no-no. Part of her job should be greeting customers with a smile. She, honestly, was pretty unfriendly. I chose lemonade for a beverage and it was okay but tasted flat. The slaw I had was unedible. It was bitter and tasted terrible. I'm not sure if it was bad or not but I wasn't going to take a chance. I chose the fried shrimp and they were good but I was surprised at how tiny they were. The fries were lukewarm and wimpy. All in all, I spent $23 for a lunch that, in my opinion, was of far less quality than Red Lobster. I was pretty disappointed.
You must have went on a bad night. The service is normally great and the staff are very hospitable. They have awesome rock n roll bands during the week.

As of 2-4-2015 under new management Don-Ton Services LLC. Now open 7 days per week. New owners Donald and Tonya Adams have a high standard of customer service. The expectation is to create a friendly, enjoyable place to enjoy food drinks and the company of friends in a marina setting. There will be live music on the deck throughout the summer. Fabulous food!!! Meat isn't even missed. Love the chefs use of fresh ingredients. Very filling and extremely satisfying.

Mrs cp and I finally got around to going to Husk this evening.
Long story short, in our opinion by far the most overrated restaurant in Charleston.
Mind you nothing was inherently terrible, but not a notable dish to be found. Also mindful that expectations are the building blocks of disappointment we tried to be as objective as possible ... still, most of dinner was spent trying to locate the 'great' and trying to figure out what the fuss is all about.
Things started out goodish, with a bean salad for mrs soulsea and the chicken skins for me. Granted it's a little weird having a heated salad as an appetizer but it did taste good, as did the chicken skins.
Our main course went as follows ... mrs cp is a vegetarian and we are fully aware that most restaurants we go to her choices will be limited. But in every quality restaurant we've ever dined at the chef will create something special for vegetarians, especially if said chef never took the time to insert even one vegetarian dish amongst their main courses to begin with, which quite frankly is unheard of in 2014. What was the chef's offering for her tonight you ask? Assorted grilled/fried vegetables. That's right, the chef at Husk put together the exact same dish that the chef at Outback always suggests, and they were both equally impressive.
'chili pimp you asshat it's your fault for not knowing that everything including the water is prepared in pork fat at Husk, as such it's your fault for seeking a vegetarian dish there' I hear you say. Fair enough, so let me tell you about my dish. I ordered the amberjack. Now keep in mind that amberjack is a wonderful fish, both robust and flaky at the same time, a fish deserving of being allowed to be tasted on its own merit with subtle accents to complement its texture and inherent flavor. Instead it was swimming in a sauce comprised of a cacophony of ingredients imagined in the mind of a chef that would rather overthink the obvious than leave well enough alone. Seriously dude, fish plus a few precise elements not fish and all of them. All I tasted was the soup he called a sauce and the fish might as well have been bread to the palate. Ugh!
Deserts were bland end equally too clever for their own good taste.
We're glad we went but we will not be going back.
They must have a hell of a PR dept. cause I can name at least fifteen better Charleston restaurants than Husk, and half of them are tourist traps. To go back to the original point ... it is still a complete mystery to us what the Husk fuss is all about.
They closed down.
I wanted SO BADLY to like this place. With only a few hookah bars in downtown (Tabbouli, Paradiso, and Smoking Lamp), it is high time for Charleston to up its game. But this just isn't the place. Yes, the interior looks nice - for now. But with the same owners as Torch, I suspect that it may go downhill and feel dirty just like the previous bar.
The place really has an identity crisis. "Moroccan" theme, with an Indian name, serving Turkish food, and with Latino ownership? The decor is nice, though far from authentic, but more importantly - the hookahs are AWFUL! It is actually embarassing to watch their employees make them.. it's clear they have no idea what they are doing. Moreover, they have no idea what the pricing is.. I visited three times and ordered the EXACT same hookah each time, and was charged different prices by different employees each time. Upon bringing this up, they got extremely confrontational and did not provide any sort of menu that listed their pricing.
Aside from rude employees and a lack of identity, the crowd was really the most off-putting aspect of this (bar? club? restuarant? hookah lounge?).. It is fine on a laid-back weeknight, but the location of the bar BEHIND the hookah lounge is just a bad idea. Excuse me as I'm enjoying my smoke, I do not want to see some blacked-out girl hiking up her dress and sloppily making out with some guy as she nearly knocks over my hookah. Really just an awkward place overall, and so sad to see that what could have been an awesome concept was so poorly executed.
