horrible place, food is sucks, service is slow. i was there yesterday to watch halloween contest. i do not f.. believe that winners had no costumes won. Judges eliminated really good costumes like everybody's favorite rednecks couple. i believe winners were friends with bar stuffs or judges. worst halloween contest ever ever ever. highly not recommended. place needs to shut down.
I have been going to Morgan Creek grill for several years. Haven't ever thought much of the service or the food, but love the location. After enjoying a nice afternoon downstairs at the Creek with friends I learned a few days later that they had charged my credit card twice. I called immediately and after speaking with 3 people was transferred to Carla Pope the "manager" who told me "it was a busy day, it was a human error." I totally agreed. Carla said they would refund my credit card for the second duplicate charge, so I asked that the restaurant also pay the expenses they incurred because of their double charge and Carla refused. She told me "its not our fault you can't manage your money." What? As a local who has frequently Morgan Creek Grill for years I cannot believe the outrageous attitude and behavior Carla exhibited. Where is the service recovery? After speaking with the bank today and no refund has been processed I will be contacting the fraud department.
I have never been treated so poorly in my life. My 2 year old hit his head and screamed in pain. When we were able to calm him down a few minutes later we placed our order. Literally, a minute later, the general manager, Travis, came over and asked "IS THERE GOING TO BE A PROBLEM HERE? YOU'RE KID'S YELLING IS DISTURBING!" Nevermind that he almost busted his head open and we were clearly emabarrased that we quickly requested boxes. On our way out, he took it upon himself to to tell us "BYE BYE!" As if he was the conquering hero that saved his patrons from the terrible 2 1/2 and 1 year old children. After we went home and put our kids to sleep for their nap, I went back to calmly let him know I have never been treated so poorly and wouldn't be coming back even though I have been there regularly for a decade. He actually told me he doesn't want to tell me how to raise my kids, but he had to look after his other customers comfort. Clearly he doesn't have kids, or he would have known that we were more worried about our son's well being than disturbing a few tourists sucking down horrible, overpriced Bloody Mary's at the bar. Way to go Travis, you clearly care about your regular customers.
OK drinks. Horrible service. The bartender (possibly owner) was disrespectful and confrontational. Better to take your business a few doors down to any of the other cocktail bars on King St.
Fondue? More like fon-DON'T...
I visited Fonduely Yours with my girlfriend last night for her birthday. She's a vegetarian, so she brought her own vegetable broth to cook her food in. We arrived around 6:30 on a Thursday evening; we were the only diners in the restaurant. We were promptly seated in a far corner of the restaurant, where we reviewed the menu as we waited for our server. When she finally arrived, we ordered some drinks and then asked her if we could move to a table with two hot-plates so that I wouldn't dip my chicken or shrimp into her veggie broth. She curtly replied "No."
I gave her a bit of a funny look, as I was sure she was joking with us. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Two burner tables, it turns out, are reserved for parties of five or more. She returned with our drinks after a few minutes, so we asked again about the table. At this point our other options were for me to eat veggies only (not the end of the world) or go elsewhere. She changed her story and said it was OK to move to a new table, considering there was literally nobody else in the place save the three fellows posted up at the bar. She neither looked nor sounded happy about this accommodation.
Our first fondue pot was brought to the table along with some bread. Before we had the opportunity to melt our cheese, the manager (?) came by our table. "Your hostess tells me that you asked to be seated at a two burner table", he said. Here it comes, I thought, a quick apology for her handling of our request; nice touch. What came next literally dropped my jaw. "That's not allowed. You have to go back to your original table." Apparently there was a rush of five-tops coming in a matter of seconds, as he made it clear they would not allow us to use two pots to keep our veggie broth free of meat residue. We asked him to reconsider pointing out that none of the two burner tables had a single patron seated at them, but he was adamant.
As a result of their inflexibility regarding seating policy, we chose to request our check, pay for two drinks that had barely been touched, and take our business elsewhere. As I signed my credit card receipt, the manager said "I'm sorry you feel that way" in the snarkiest tone he could muster. We headed for the door, mindful to keep an eye peeled for the ravenous hordes surely headed in, lest we be trampled. To our surprise, however, the parking lot was empty. Curious.
Since we didn't eat a bite of food, I can't comment on that aspect of this restaurant. It is, however, very dark, not very clean looking, and has a stink about it thanks to decades of smoking inside. Every person that we dealt with looked unhappy to be there and exhibited terrible customer service skills. There are other fondue options in Charleston on a Thursday night, I strongly encourage you to explore them. I know my girlfriend and I will never be back.
I have been here twice in 2 years. Had to give it a second chance. While the atmosphere is cozy, the food is nothing to talk about or eat! The worst sheppards pie I've ever had. It had chili base with chunks of potatoes on top. Awful! You need a new chef!
I live in the near vicinity of Parson Jack's and have tried the restaurant a couple of times. The first time I went there, the service was so so, but having worked in the service industry for years, I know that there are some nights when the staff is just "off." The second time I went there, the service was still pretty lacking. For example, I asked for a glass with my bottled beer and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy for asking for such a thing. I was with friends who knew the waitress, so i didn't make a big stink about it, but deep down I was like, "Really?!"
Also, the times I have been there, the waitresses always try to make excuses as to why the food takes forever to come out. The first excuse was, "We're really backed up tonight, so it's gonna take at least 45 minutes for your food to come out." The ironic part was that there was maybe 6 tables seated in the whole restaurant, so I didn't buy that excuse. The second excuse was, "our entire kitchen staff is new, so it is gonna take about an hour for your food to come out. They're still working out the kinks." You'd think that management would keep a couple of veterans on board to train the newbies, unless the entire kitchen staff walked out the night before. Knowing this place, I wouldn't put it past them.
Basically, the managment of this establishment should take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror because what they're doing now isn't working. I really want to like this place since I live nearby and I really think that it has some potential, but the management needs to change in order for me to return.
P.S. - I really hope that Parson Jack's management reads this post and does something to save their restaurant.
I would like to take back what I said about food prices. The food prices were average. I would also like to say I like the idea of this restaurant... I just think the bar area is too small for entertainment and the kitchen closes to early when they have so many customers. I was really aggravated-and so was my bf when we drove all the way out there, hungry, and couldn't watch my friend play or eat.
Went for the last time on Mother's Day weekend. The food was poor along with the service. We used to love the place...now we will leave it for the tourists.
went on Mothers Day, food was nothing but average, drinks were poor and service nothing special either, not going back..
Things wrong from my visit last summer (and only visit).
1. Wait staff took over 10 minutes to say hello to the table (We, a 4 top, were 1 of 4 tables so they weren't weeded)
2. So much dust and crud on the walls that it was NASTY to look at.
3. Lack of management intervention during a scuffle between two employees. Curse words flew rampant out of one guys mouth involved in the scuffle.
4. Wait staff (all four servers), hostess and bartender stayed by the bar and talked the whole time. Drinks stayed empty and the cook had to walk the food out due to our "server" chatting at the bar.
5. Management promised gift certificates mailed due to our horrible experience to make up for the scuffled witnessed but they never came.
6. Food was marginal at best.
7. The best part was the cook who walked our food out and checked on us 2x due to our waiter loving to chat with other workers.
I've run a restaurant and I never would have allowed this lack of service to take place. I will never go there again and when friends ask, I am very honest about my experience there.
Nastiest lasagna....how do they stay open? Gross.
Horrible service. Almost 1.5 hours for dinner. Every time is a long wait. Wish we had a better pub in West Ashley
Finz is a nice place except for one problem: they have those damn roll up doors between the inside smoke free area and the outside addict area, so the addicts can just stand in the doors and blow their poison inside.
They leave these doors open so the poison gets in the smoke free area.
I won't be going back.
As with all non-smoke free places like this, the actual rating is zero stars.

This is the thing that ticks me off about poor restaurant service especially when you've been in the food and bev. business for years. A salad which costs about $2.00 in ingredients to make can be comped easily at no loss to a restaurant with the hope someone sees this as an act of faith to get a costumer back in again, improve quality, and gain more business from rave reviews.
As far as I'm concerned I'll never go to this place. Hopefully the management will read these comments and improve things quickly or perhaps comment on the poor service and why it is this way.
For the last few years I have been aware that almost all of the food I have ordered here was mediocre with the occasional above average dish. Which I have been fine with me because for some reason I have always wanted to support Med Bistro and before that Med Deli, when the food was good. However, last Sunday my experience went beyond bad and I have to comment on it. I ordered a the pecan chicken salad and when it arrived it was truly one of the worst salads I have ever had. Extremely tasteless and bland and by the time the server asked how it was, I had no appetite any longer. I told her how bad it was and she asked if there was anything else she could bring me and I told her no. She took my plate with only @ 10% of it eaten and that was that or so I thought. When the bill came the salad was still on it... No manager came by to see why I had sent the meal back or for a discussion and there were only @ 6 tables at the time we were served. So I paid for it and on the bottom I said that I will never be back and I won't. When I said to the waitress that I was shocked that I was charged for such a bad meal she told me that she had asked the manager to remove it from the bill and was told no. Now, I was in food and beverage for 10 years and have never seen anything like this. I guess it goes to show that even the managers and owners have decided that bad food it too bad for the customer that ordered it. I will never be returning and I encourage all people reading this to stop bland food and stop supporting resturants that no longer seem to care about their customers or what kind of quality comes out of their kitchen. Thank you.
What happened? My last few visits have left a bad taste in my mouth. How do burn chicken fingers? They tasted like burnt grease, my fries were soggy! You need to get a waitress as your bartenders are lazy and to busy taking shots at the bar with their friends and could careless that my food sucked and my draft was warm and flat. I mean hot! as in the pint must have just came out of the dishwasher! What happened to Moe's? it is just not the same any more.
I ordered shrimp tacos. Horrible. Boiled tasteless cut up meat. Daughter ordered the grits and they were burnt.
Husband ordered fried shrimp that were supposed to be tossed in barbecue sauce. They were just plain. As a solution the waitress brought out a side container of barbecue. This plate was ok.
My son did like his fried chicken tenders and french fries. But honestly he likes anything fried.
Brother-in law had chicken wings that were cold.
Service was bad. Food took way too long. Had to find her for another beer or water and again for napkins.
Won't go back.
The old gray mare just ain't what she used to be. That great staff is gone. What used to be a good 8oz burger. Is now a 7oz burger even though the menu still say's 8oz. Everything i used to know and love about this local dive bar is gone. The half priced wings at happy hour, gone! Price did not go though as they are the only thing that stayed..$6.00 fireball shot Wow!!My one beer and a fire ball shooter were over $11.00. Guess i'll go to the recovery room get a PBR and watch the beatnik's fight!! bye bye Moe's you had a good run while it lasted! I can't wait to see what fills that building once Moe's folds.
Apparently the food is only good on weekends. We went last Monday and I had to send my steak back because it was nothing but fat. My husband's shrimp and grits were gritty. There was trash and flies in the windowsill while the waitstaff stood around and talked. Not to mention the table was sticky. Very dissatisfied.
