Worst. Bar. Ever. This place only attracts the overweight college crowd that enjoys stale draft beer and fried mysteries. If your looking for a good time and enjoyable night, go up the street a little to O'Malley's or down to Mad River.
I like it a lot. Lisa and Vanessa are both great tenders and very experienced. Changes to happy hour deals are unwelcoming, but I understand that they were losing on the 50% appetizers. Esp. the seafood nachos. Nice place to bring a date and relax watching a game, or having a quality dinner. Please change back the batter on the shrimp. This new one sucks
I've been to many sports bars in the area, but Rendezvous sticks out really well above the rest. The decor is terrific, the food is very good, the beer selection is pleasing, the TVs are everywhere, the bathrooms are ridiculously clean, and they do a fine job with events, kids, bar area, and presentation. The giant-screen is clearly visible, the sound system is solid, and when they do have music the reproduction is great.
I've been there six times and have never been disappointed with anything. I know the name sounds like a strip club, but this is a fine place to eat, drink, and watch some games!
Excellent decor, less than acceptable service. Understandably, the bartender was alone. They would do well to have a more experienced tender flying solo. Frankly, I would be very surprised if the management knew their employees (if they are employees) were on a review page giving lip service to customers. Maybe is a little more indicative of their service and attitude than I normally give reviews credit for. Place has great potential.
One of the best home town estabishments I have ever had the priviledge to visit. I will be coming from Michigan to bring in the new year there with some new friends. Can't wait to see you.

I had the great pleasure of visintg this ecelectic Reataurant/Bar/Gathering Place/Live Music venue/wonderful Food/ Incredible Ribs/marvelous Service especially from a psuedo Organic fantacis whom I nicknamed ORGI, for over 2 years. Kent, the owner of ARTS is simply put, one of the top 5 bar owners Ihave known in my 57 years, of which 52 of them have been invested in time in bars, taverns, and pubs. If oyu are someone who thinks you simply have to go to Market 225 and such GO ON , GO AHEAD, then night cap out at ARTS. Free horse de overs Monday through Friday all the way through this damn Recession. Kent could have pulled them to save $$. But he didn't. Outdoor patio built in part by a tremendous carpenter talent named RONNIE is where you can smoke and be as damn loud as you want..Come to think of it you do all that 'cept smoke INSIDE. Thank God for the legilsature passing laws to protect me from myself PUH FREAKING TWO EE. So my unknown readers. Ya gotta stop at ARTS.
My distant second recommendation for a great locals place is BIG JOHNS ON E BAY You can get a bumper sticker there reading "I LOVE BJ's then when oyu look at the fine print it reads "I mean Big Johns you pervert" Great burgers and tater tots in BJs.
I miss ARTS very much and BJ's a lot.

Tell Orgi I still love her and tellmy Steve my English friend ""ello mate"
Please do shrimp everywhere a big favor by removing their good name from the sign in front of this place. Everyone knows Red's Ice House has the best shrimp basket while Buddy Roe's has the worst. As for the entertainment, this is a case of "nowhere else will let me on their stage, so I will just buy my own".
Rendezvous is a gross place, with nasty employers. I think that this place shouldn't have even opened. The only thing I liked was the bouncers. not a happy member.
We love Wild wing personally, I think they have some of the best bartenders in town. Drinks are priced fairly with great specials offered nightly. The food is good and prices arent too high.
We love music and go to listen to the bands often. We are looking forward to the band contest on October 7the but would love to have someone check out how to make the sound system function a little better. The tonal quality is poor and the vocals are hard to hear. loud is great ....if you can hear the band, right?
Not Smoke Free! The smoking section is sealed off from outside with plastic, and open roll up doors are all that separate the addicts from the rest of us.
Definitely to be avoided if you wish to not be exposed to secondhand smoke.
Just one more thing to Mr. Shrimp King, no matter how you eat shrimp it turns to shit.
I don't know where all of you with the negative comments were raised, but in the south we are raised with several principals and one of those is if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Generally when I go out and don't enjoy myself I don't go back. Pretty simple...duh. This is one place where I can go dressed however I might be and really relax and enjoy the music and atmosphere. I don't expect more than 7 or so shrimp for lunch and fried food should be eaten in moderation unless you want to stroke. I would rather stroke dancing and having a good time than eating, personally. If you want to eat a huge meal you should be prepared to pay for it and you aren't going to get it for 5.99. Let's get real the food is good enough and I've eaten in plenty of five star resturants where the food was not to my liking, but I just don't go back. Why get on a public space and bash someone who is trying to make an honest living...including your waitress? We all have bad days now don't we? Maybe that phone call was concerning a family member ie..child,mother, grandmother, brother,sister..who knows? It's ok to judge what you hear, smell, taste, see, or feel but, don't judge other people. Do you always have a good day at work? Maybe the chef wasn't having a good day, as far as I'm concerned he was having a great day everytime I ate there. It's always a good day at Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack. Any comments? I'd love to hear them.
Is this place still open? It looked very (permanently) closed last time I walked by.
it was in good sense and spirit to buy local shrimp. however, i hate the fact that someone can take one of the most celebrated commodities of our resources and turn it into shit.
Leave Mt Pleasant's overdone/overpriced area, escape downtown's college/hoity-toity air, and you arrive in The Mill in Park Circle. Where the same beer you get at Poe's for $6.00 is $3.50, with laid back bartenders, and where real people, not name-droppers out on the playboy/playgirl prowl, just go out for a good time.
Always enjoy popping into here for a drink or three..the atmosphere is quite chill, love the tucked away tables and booths. My only wish is that they would serve more of those lovely beers in bottles, as draught beer gives me a wicked headache!!
I've only eaten here once and it was when Budiroe's (as it was then spelled) was at its old location on IOP. I'll bite my tongue on what I thought since it's been a year and a half and they may have made some big improvements with their new location. Seriously, though, this page is the strangest mixed bag of reviews. You've got displeased patrons, happy regulars and even the owner himself competing to offer their oddly different opinions. I guess its one of those places you love or hate. Either way, I always want to wish good luck to local establishments, so here's hoping they thrive at their new location.
With all these mixed reviews I thought maybe I should see if it was just a bad day or something when I was there. NO! I was right the first time this place is still terrible. The food is just bad and no worth the price.
Great local shrimp at an incredible price. Don't forget the music sung by Ronnie and Kim. I drive there every weekend from Columbia to be there. You won't find a better place in LA or NYC.
We have had lunch and dinner at "The Shack" several times now, and always loved the food. Service was slow when they first opened, but has become great as well. Atmosphere and music are awesome. I recommend the shrimp basket (reg size is BIG), burger (reg size again is huge), shrimp burger, sweet potato fries, onion rings, homemade chips (ask for some Buddy Roe's sauce with them or with anything). Bill Murray was there with 2 of his sons once when we went, and I recommended the shrimp burger. They stopped by to say "That shrimp burger was GOOD!" on the way out to play some mini-golf on the grounds outside.
