Thanks for the suggestion! While I didn't have the "Honey Badger Wrap," I can tell this staff is the ideal group to create and serve it in the city. Thanks again for the insight!
Not that Urbanspoon is the end all be all but after reading Rosemary's review and positive comments about Baroni's I figured I would look them up. I am always up for a good pizza. Well, 74% approve for a restaurant with a solid third of the reviews negative is not very enticing. I looked at Evo's and 92% positive with nearly four times as many votes and out of the 37 reviews only four were negative, and two of those were about price. If you understand what Evo is doing and how much effort goes into their food you will understand why they have to charge the prices that they do. If not, I would suggest Cici's, that just means that when I have to go on the customary wait at EVO it will at least be for people who understand what they are eating and drinking and not be looking for the nearest buffet trough.
Great food, great beer, great service, consistently.
My partner, a friend and I went to Tattooed Moose last night for the first time. The corn dogs were probably the best I have ever had and the smoky tomato soup was delicious. We got the Reuben, Cuban and duck club and they were all excellent. I loved the fries but I couldn't tell they had been cooked in duck fat. The aioli was a tasty addition.
So why the two-star review if I loved everything? The service was awful. After we seated ourselves a young woman came by and dropped menus. We asked for water while we looked at the menus and I asked about their beer list, which was on the back of the menu. She came back in about 10 seconds with the water and we asked for a few more minutes. She cheerfully said "Take your time" ... and she never came back. She brought food to tables near us and walked past a handful of times, but never even looked at our table and never stopped. Finally she ensconced herself at the short bar to the left of the door to the kitchen, staring intently at something on the bar and ignoring everything else around her.
The friend who was with me finally walked up to her to ask about ordering beers and food. She handed my friend the beer and said she would be right over for the food order. As my friend turned around the server went back to whatever she was staring at on the bar and never budged. My friend sat down, looked at her in disbelief, and said she was reading the menu.
Finally the bartender, Ryan, walked over and asked if we wanted to order food. From there the service was okay, but the damage was done. You simply don't pointedly ignore customers for 15 to 20 minutes.
So glad we finally have a Juanita's in Mt. P. Have always loved the downtown restaurant. Went for Happy Hour and Dinner last week and it was awesome! Great food, so inexpensive and a super cool atmosphere.
Food is amazing here!!!! So good!! True Cuban Food!!
Folks , do you know what is the most dangerous Drug, that kills more people than crack, or meth. ?
lj1974 -whichever member of the Hall's staff you may be - subtlety isn't your style is it? Stick with the pattern.... 75% of the 5-star ratings Hall's has been given occurred within 2 days of a bad comment and each was the ONLY restaurant comment ever made by that person... hmmmmm...........
I love King St Grille. Ive been to the one DT many times and also the one out by Kiawah and had great food. However, this one is awful. We sat at the bar outside for twenty minutes in front of 2 bartenders who refused to talk to us or really even look at us. The girl bartender in the Eagles jersey might as well have been taking a nap under the bar. We got buckets and they said they couldn't split half bud light half budweiser because of some sort of inventory problem. Ive split buckets all over Charleston and never have had this problem. The food came out then sat on the bar for a while and got cold while the bartenders were "working". Ill go back to KSG, but never this one!!!!! Awful
NV Dance Lounge is the weekend hot spot on the market- period. All the good-looking, people-in-the-know will be there. That's a true story. For those of you who are dissing the place, I'm gonna guess you were refused entry for being out of dress code or...are just plain cheap. It's an upscale dance club. If you don't know what that means, Google it! You gotta be dressed to impressed to get in. It keeps the riff raff (like those posted above me) out of the club! Go to Purple Tree. Oh wait, that closed because of gang violence. dang. I guess theres always the North Charleston "clubs". I'm reminded of the Chris Brown song "I don't know why youre hating from outside the club, you can't even get in!" ---- NV is where its at! closest thing you'll find to a REAL nightclub in Chas #realtalk

What a joke. Any night club that has the dress code at the door isn't what I'd call "upscale". If you're into slores wearing heeled suede boots that come up to their thighs, oozing insecurity and low self esteem all while holding a vodka CRaNnn and sexily sippin' on their strawwz, then dive in my friend. Oh yeah, take some new facebook profile pix with palmetto shots while you're there.
All these other fools do not know what quality food and service is about. They should stick to food joints like Hyman's and they can get an affordable plate of tasteless food and service with no personability.
Not one to usually state remarks of this matter but this is the only bar in Charleston where I have ever heard of my friends getting roofied. SKETCH.
They know how to throw a party. Saturday night in west ashley has a whole new vibe. This 1 st year for then has been questioned by all, would they make it? What a way to go forth into the new year. Great crowd, Great food, bartenders could be a little faster with the service, and a more organized for checking out. This bar was on fire, live music after the game, kept the crowd till closing time. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW OWNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT UP.
Went to Hall's for the Restaurant Week special 3 for 40. Next time I'll go to High Cotton or The Oak and pay full price.... Hell, next time I get the craving for a steak, I'll take the buttermilk chicken at Magnolias before I go to Halls. Service was plaintively agreeable, but the steak was mediocre at best and luke-warm, the potatoes and green beans tasteless and the Caesar salad was mostly Romaine stalks (was this to compensate for the lower Restaurant Week prices?) and the tables crowded together so tightly, every time a server visited the table next-door I got a butt in my face. We were bum-rushed out as soon as we had finished our plates, and then coat-check couldn't find my coat even with the tag they gave me. Waiting for them to find my coat we had an interesting encounter with Billy Hall. He gave one lame excuse after another while continually trying to shake my hand. Complained about having to participate in Restaurant Week after being yelled at by the restaurant association, and on and on. I won't be back.
A bit of advice to Billy: Son, you missed your calling - somewhere in North Charleston there's a used-car lot that needs you desperately.
Very good. No complaints. Will definitely be back for wings and bourbon. Bartender lacked a bit of knowledge about drinks/beers, but again, no complaints. The guy who appeared to be the manager was very knowledgeable and filled in the blanks. Really liked the atmosphere and the bar itself. The temp regulated drafts/taps is a nice option. Wings are a bit pricey, but worth it. Half price day makes them well worth it. Looking forward to trying more menu items.
Had the pleasure of going in this week and learning about all of all the new and exciting plans they have for this pub. I had their plate lunch special and the best bloody mary this side of new orleans. given a chance this will be the new favorite spot.
Try the Honey Badger wrap! Homemade!
Re: “Bighorn's Sports Grill”
This is an awesome place to see bands - big stage, awesome sound and you can eat great food - wings, killer burgers, steaks - all night long. If you don't need to be by the beach, its a much better venue than the Windjammer plus its in the heart of Berkeley County! Going to see Diamondback this weekend!
