Re: “USS Yorktown

I love the Yorktown! This WWII ship was in the Battle of Midway. They have an amazing Medal of Honor Museum on board..

Re: “Holiday Inn Riverview

Great View of Charleston Harbor from the restaurant. But the food is such a disappointment! Too bad, too, because it could be the tourist highlight if only management cared to have a decent menu and hire a worthwhile chef!

Re: “The Navy Yard at Noisette

Loved it! Will be back next year. Ken, get a grip! You obviously didn't get a good ride on the mechanical bull. Glad you will not be there next year.

Re: “Isle of Palms Marina

RUN AWAY!!!!!
We recently had a horrible experience with this company. First off - the boat is in poor shape at best. The top is missing a bar and is help on by a rope. The windshield was cracked and the radio did not work. When we arrived - the girl helping us told us that this was the only boat they had running.

If that wasn't enough... the boat was rated for 10 people. We had 8 people and coolers. The boat could not go over 8 miles an hour.

We brought the boat back to the marina and were basically told it was our fault and the boat wasn't really rated for even the 8 people we had. We asked for a refund of the unused 6 hours. After being rude - they said they would only make us pay for the 2 hours used.

Here is the kicker... the two hours were then charged at the 2 hr rate (basically the 75% of the cost for 25% of the time).

The next time I want to be ripped off while being serviced by a 16 year old jerk - I know where to go.

Save your money and stay away.

Re: “Sewee Visitor Center

A quiet outing for the kids. Inside the facility is a small gift shop (mainly books) and a museum showcasing the habitats and animals in the Awendaw area. Stroll across the outside boardwalk to the wolf enclosure or the woodland loop trail. Be prepared to see wildlife along the way like turtles, lizards, birds, and the occasional snake. The wolf enclosure has a shaded viewing deck. On hot summer days, the wolves are ususally in the shade of their doghouses and the trees and harder to see. However, one of the older residents often comes up to the glass to view the visitors! Neat to see an endangered species up close and therefore worth the trip.

Re: “AKS Karate

I love working out at the facility. I had heard about them from several people who train there. They are top notch and their customer service skills are second to none. They are by far the best training facility in Charleston. I should know...I have been to the others. The do not come close to matching the talent and abilities that their staff has. I am very pleased to be a part of their school. I can only give the best recommendation possible for this location.

Re: “Muddy Waters Coffee Bar

Muddy Waters has delicious coffee, friendly employees, free wireless internet, and a comfortable atmosphere. The owners are very kind and down-to-earth. Please support local business owners, rather than huge corporations :)
