Re: “Macaroon Boutique

For our June '12 wedding, we included treats from Macaroon Boutique in the guests' welcome bags. The macaroons were not available {only at Christmas?} but we had the chocolate/sea salt cookies and madelines. Everyone raved about the quality and we were so happy to recommend such a top notch local business.

Re: “Charleston Bakery

This place is excellent. The best Corned Beef and Pastrami in SC. The soup is delicious and the Danish - the best I have had outside NYC. All made in House. Making the trip here weekly, its worth the drive.

Re: “Baguette Magic

Was introduced to this place a couple of weeks ago by a friend. Didn't even know it was there. I bought a chocolate croissant that was to die for. Had to get the apricot for later. Wonderful! The baguette we took home for dinner was the best I've had in a very long time. My French mother, bless her soul, would have loved this place. Also, the customer service is lovely and refreshing.

Re: “Baguette Magic

Today we had breakfast at Baguette Magic. We tried an almond croissant and the bacon, egg and cheese on brioche. Delicious! But the best was yet to come --- we took a baguette home with us. The bread was so good that we scrapped tonight's dinner menu and had bread and cheese instead. The baguette was indeed "magic".

Re: “Macaroon Boutique

I went in today to buy some macaroons to give to a friend and ended up also getting a bag of the chocolate & sea salt cookies plus a chocolate almond croissant--AMAZING! I'm sure I've never had a proper croissant until now. Indescribably good. And the sales lady (who is French) was perfectly lovely.

Re: “Macaroon Boutique

simply addictive cookies and croissants - a must try if you've never been. they open up around 10 or 10:30am so it's not really a good fit for some people's schedules, but if you find yourself anywhere close to them while they are open you have to go get yourself a choc&almond croissant and a bag of choc&sea salt cookies.

the couple that owns it is quite lovely if you just stop and talk to them.

Re: “Macaroon Boutique

I am on my way there now! This* is probably as close as I will get to Paris in the immediate future. MB is simply the best of the best! The croissants are to die for no matter which kind you get. Also, the baguettes, warmed or not, are wonderful with dinner, plain or with PB&J!

Re: “Village Bakery

I live in the neighborhood and eat here often. It is truly ALL stars. It's one of Sal's restaurants. Everything fresh and yummy. It's super casual, walk up to the counter and order, then sit and they bring the food. Pour your drink or get it from the cooler.
The desserts are famous and worth every calorie!!
I think the reason that there aren't more reviews is that the locals want to keep it secret! It's also small and cozy.

Re: “Cupcake

Love, love, love. I agree, they're a little pricey, but they use local and organic ingredients whenever possible. It's also a locally-owned business. All the more reason to try their amazing flavors.

Re: “Wild Flour

Wild Flour is the best. The pesto, sun dried tomato, mozzarella scone is my favorite, but everything I've ever eaten there has been delicious. Lauren is fantastic. I hate to miss a single Sticky Bun Sunday. I always have such a great experience there!

Re: “Wild Flour

I stopped in for sticky bun Sunday this morning and ended up getting a strawberry/nutella turnover as well. It was so good I ate the whole thing in the car on the way home and didn't save a single bite for my husband like I thought I would. It was amazing and so affordable for such a large pastry. I'll definately be back next Sunday.

Re: “Sugar Bakeshop

The best Cupcakes & Pies I've ever had. If you ever need a good treat for a special occasion or for no reason at all, this is the place to go. I've tried a lot of the other highly talked about places in town and so far none of them can compare. I highly recommend the chocolate bourbon pecan pie.
