Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

We love Montreux for many reasons. First it is in Historic Summerville, we don't have to go far to go out for an evning with friends for food and drinks. And oh yeah, great entertainment. We like to go out and hear music in an atmosphere where you can still carry on a conversation. They have the best peel & eat shrimp in SC. No kidding! You can choose to sit outside, or on comfy sofas if you want. The staff and management are great. Try it, see for yourself.

Great bar, live music rocks, and has excellent service. By far the best bar in sville as far as I'm concerned

Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

This is my standby in Summerville!... I love the build-your-own burgers, and the fish tacos. Fabulous Bloodies and brunch specials... Great emphasis on live music. Just a relaxing, laid back place to disappear on a Sunday afternoon or after work....

LOVE THIS PLACE! By far, the best thing to happen to Summerville. Great neighborhood bar and restaurant. The food is great, the atmosphere is chill and love the live music nights. Sunday brunch is my fave!

Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

I'm fairly new to the Summerville area, but I instantly fell in love with this bar. Its great food and chill atmosphere have made Montreux one of my favorite places to get my drink on with friends on the weekends. I'm actually shocked to see any bad reviews posted here, I have yet to have any negative experiences.

Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

Ok by far my favorate hangout on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays! Yes the staff is friendly. Go there enough, and they'll know you by name. If you should have a situation (bathroom out of toliet paper, need a ride, or more ketcup) talk to any one working there they'll hook you up. Come out and see for yourself its a cool place to go....

Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

This restaurant is my new favorite place to hang out in Summerville. We needed a cozy, comfortable bar with a versatile menu that is not the normal "bar food." Their spicy peel and eat shrimp, fish tacos and chicken kabobs are amazing and very fresh. I am not a burger eater, but I hear the burgers rival any others in the Charleston area. The staff is great and the patrons are a range of ages (including families) with plenty of young, respectful professionals like myself. I enjoy trying to guess the subjects of the obviously classic rock musicians painted on canvas hanging all over the original brick walls. I hear they have great weekend music of all genres and they draw a nice crowd. Maybe they had an obnoxious drunk woman one night per some other reviews, but she has not been there the many times I have visited. I agree with the City Paper and Post and Courier reviews, this place is definitely the new Summerville hang out.

Re: “Sunfire Grill & Bistro

We had a good meal. The service was right on. The bonus was finding live music in the bar afterwards. Definitely coming back.

Re: “Skibo's Neighborhood Grill

Best She Crab soup in Charleston! They've got free wi-fi and a menu that will please anyone (even my finicky daughter). Bring your laptop, hook-up to Hulu for Pink Panther cartoons for the kids. You and the wife can then relax, enjoy an adult beverage and have some really good comfort food. Feels like being at a friend's house. Go there.

Re: “Montreux Bar and Grill

This is not just the average bar. Great place to hang out and chill, leather sofas and dark and cozy, kinda that French Quarter feel. The food is not your average bar food either! The food is right on, killer Fish tacos and mouth-watering burgers that are spot on. Nice selection of beers on Tap for the draught lovers. From what I hear from friends, this is the place to be for Sunday Brunch- made to order omelets, benedicts, bloody maries.. You have to try it! We did, we loved it!

Re: “Ivory Moon

It's about time this area (Summerville) got a pub with a piano! Nice place and lots of fun.

Re: “DB's Cheesesteaks, Burgers, & Fries

I am a native Southerner, so I can't claim a lifelong cheesesteak pedigree. But, I have had them all over, including in Philly, and DB's serves some of the best I've ever had. No frills, high quality ingredients, Amoroso rolls, great fresh fries, etc. Glad to have them on JI where I can get my fix with relative ease.

Re: “Philly's Cheesesteaks

Great food. Only place in the Charleston area for a decent cheesesteak. (yes that includes James Island.) Don't be fooled by the others.

Re: “Med Bistro

This restaurant was by far the best restaurant I have been to in years. Our waitress was lovely and the atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner, while remaining intimate, yet somewhat casual. You can turn the surroundings into whatever you want them to be, casual and fun, or elegant and sophisticated. The food was incredible and the wine too! Plus, we didn't even have to wait long at all on a Friday evening. AND, the prices are great for what you get... I strongly recommend Med Bistro to anyone.
