Very laid back atmosphere with great food and attentive staff. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!
Great Pizza, but the menu is a little limited. I wish there were a few more options for appetizers and salads, but otherwise great pizza, and great atmosphere!
Finally made it over to DeSano's last night. I will start off by saying it was the best pizza we have had in quite awhile. My husband, son, and I shared the Diavolo and San Gennaro. Both were excellent. Those little calabrian peppers are fantastic. We could not stop eating them. I hope there is a place in town where I can buy some.
The woman working at the front counter was very friendly and funny. That being said, I do agree with the other comments on the strange layout. The drink options are strange. No wines by the glass or tap beer. Maybe something with their type of license? They had a pitcher of water in the dining room, but only one and it got empty quick and they kept having to fill it up. How about a couple of pitchers and maybe even leave some at the tables? I don't like the no plate thing and the flimsy, useless plastic utensils. Sorry, call me an amateur but I like to eat pizza with a knife and fork.
All in all, a good experience. It was definitely on the expensive side so if you are looking to feed your family for not too much money, then maybe save this place for another time. I would definitely bring my own wine next time. That seems to be the best way to go and balance out the higher priced pies.
I shared a couple of pizzas with two friends recently and they were intersting artisan pizzas and the setting at the big tables was nice. I will go again - price was on higher side but all and all I found it to be a good experience.
The layout is indeed confusing, there needs to be a giant "ORDER HERE" sign when you first walk in. But the service was GREAT, from the front of house to back of house. Pizza was really, really great too - and I personally prefer a really thin crust but this regular crust was excellent. I had the Verdura, if you're a veggie lover this will be right up your alley. Great for large groups and kids.
Excellent light crust, interesting beer choices, delicious panini. No wings. Very nice people, community minded supporting Habitat for Humanity, local sport teams and neighborhood school programs.
We've dined at this restaurant several times and the food is excellent. The homemade fried mozzarella (made on-site) is to die for! We continue to patronize the restaurant because the food and wait service have always been wonderful but watch out for the female owner that man's the hostess desk - she's beyond rude and is socially retarded. We gave her our name and number for the table and then proceeded to the bar for drinks. After a 30 minute wait, I checked back in and was told our table was given away because she "couldn't find us"....what?????? We told her we would be in the bar - not 30 feet away! When I told her we were less than 30 feet away and she never called us, her response was, "whatever"...REALLY???? This is not our first disappointing experience with her...she may be an owner but she's the last person you want greeting/servicing customers. If you go to this restaurant be prepared to be disappointed with this aspect!
I've been twice and think it's a nice little neighborhood place. The crust on our pizzas was crackly and black in a few places, which I liked. The Del Re was salty goodness, and my toddler loved his cheese and fried egg pizza. I wasn't as excited about their take on sausage and mushroom, but it still was perfectly fine. I wouldn't visit Crust for a special occasion, necessarily, but I'm glad to have another solid option for a weekday lunch or dinner.
The pizza is great! Butternut Pizza was my favorite. The salads are also really good. Restaurant itself is a bit small but is a great addition to James/Johns Island. We've been back 4 times.
I have to say Andolinis is a safe bet for NY style pizza. The only problem is that each location the pizza seems different. The downtown location is always the best for me it's just not the easiest place to get to.
We order Park Pizza about 1-2x a month. We would order it more if we weren't trying to watch our spending. That being said, when the pizza arrives to our front door (they deliver to Hanahan folks!) we are always thrilled with the results. My husband always has the same thing every time. He throws together a pizza with jalapenos and bbq pork that he swears is phenom. I usually go with the pizza of the month which never fails to disappoint. The combos there are so good that I rarely go to the regular menu pizzas but when I do, again I am pleased with the variety and flavor combos that most other pizza joints would shy away from. I will say that the Partridge in a Pear Tree (Cheddar, Mozzerlla, Chicken Sausage, Pear Preserves, Sauteed Onions, Dates...sounds crazy, right..crazy good is more like it!) from December's Pizza of the Month is my all-time fave and I cry on Jan 1st not because another year has passed but because I can no longer get that pizza. ( I tried...they don't have the stuff anymore.) In any event, when ordering keep an open mind and branch out from the pepperoni and transcend into Thai , Indian, Crawford or even She-Crab when ordering pizza. You'll be pleasantly surprised and back for more.
Okay, so I don't know pizza like a lot of people on here. I've prob never really turned down any style or make of pizza when offered. but....dang.
This Place is awesome. Give it a try!
So far I've tried a lot of menu items before i thought to write review and not a bad word to say in the bunch.
I think the super philly is right up with the best you can get around town. I'm a big fan of the competitor in summerville..but that is a bit far of a drive for me on a regular basis.
This is a lot closer to almost anywhere in town and yummy.
Oh and definitely try a slice of the Coconut Cake if at all possible!
Better than average pizza, pricey beer ... Not five stars but a good four on their better days.
This is the one! The crust is perfect for folding and flipping. The sauce is extraordinary and the toppings are generous. New York style personified. Only four stars because the place is filthy.
Monza has the ultimate Caesar Salad. It really proves that amazing ingredients are the key to amazing food. I love their pizzas, love their salads, and during the winter get their bread pudding. IT IS AMAZING. I loved it so much I begged the chef to give me their recipe and she did. i love monza...sometimes their staff does have some attitude but whatever I just sass them back. Luckily I love their food or else I probably wouldnt go back after some of the experiences I have had with 2 of their waitresses
O, EVO, let me count the ways!
Pros: Fresh ingredients straight from the farm to your plate. Salads are delicious, Pizza crust is cooked to perfection, toppings make everything come together. Staff are friendly and attentive. Location is clean and bright.
Cons: Wish you were open more often and a tad bit cheaper.
A must for anyone...Will return and recommend to friends.
I always enjoyed Norm's Pizza. A cool little neighborhood spot with a nice laid-back vibe. I too was disappointed when I found out they were shutting down. I'm excited that they are back and with a liquor license, eating a big norms pizza is just not the same without a nice pitcher of beer.
The popular Thursday night pizza special is back but different with the new ownership. Instead of half off any large pizza with limited hours its now $7.99 for a one-topping large all day long.
If you want pizza in Mt. P, look no further. Their pasta, dessert, calzones, baked sandwiches also are terrific. My previous review stands, now with star power!
Best Bianco slice I've ever had. The Margherita slice was pretty good also. Paid about $11 for two slices and a drink.
The pizza is better than EVO but I find myself going across the street because they dont serve beer
