Drinks are absolutely fantastic and the staff is very friendly and knowleadgable. The drinks are more expensive than your average establishment, but they are worth it.
Perfect place to have a few pre-drinks or grab some late night snacks. The chocolate pie with pop rocks (yes, pop rocks) is heaven on a plate.
Club Habana is a very unique spot in Charleston. It has a very intimate atmosphere that is unlike any other bar downtown (except maybe upper deck). One feels if they are in a living room, with comfortable couches and chairs spread throughout the 2nd floor. The bartenders are fantastic, the remember your drink orders and are very friendly.
HOWEVER if you are a non-smoker you might not enjoy Club Habana. The cigarette and cigar smoke is very thick, to the point where ones eyes are so irritated by the smoke they may start watering upon entering. You clothes WILL stink like smoke after visiting. This bar is a real throwback to three years ago when every bar downtown was filled with smoke and it really makes one appreciate the fact Charleston's bars are smoke free.
Re: “The Gin Joint”
Great little place and an extensive drink list. We sat in the front toward the door so it was hard to hear what kind of music they were playing, if any. That would be my only suggestion for them--get a better sound system and/or bring in some live fun music. Even better if you could open the doors to the patio out front. We'll be coming back for sure!
