Re: “Triangle Char and Bar

Showed up for Sunday brunch with high expectations and wasn't the least bit disappointed when I left a couple hours later (perhaps partially due to taking advantage of the $10 bottomless mimosas, of which you can actually taste the champagne!).
I absolutley looooved the carolina eggrolls - the mustard bbq sauce was superb. I'd heard raves about their fish tacos, so I decided to try them. They were tasty but a bit light on the "meatiness" of the filling. I opened the tacos to find four or five smaller chunks of mahi-mahi - enough for a piece per bite, but left me wanting for more. The sweet potato fries with their apple butter type dip & home fries were also very good. One of my friends tried the smoked salmon omelette and was very impressed. The other person I was with said his pulled pork sandwich was more than he could finish & actually regretted filling up on mimosas!
Our glasses weren't empty until we got up to leave, our waitress, Jessica, was very attentive and personable. If, as a group, we didn't have a new-place-each-sunday rule, I'd be back with a quickness!

Re: “Triangle Char and Bar

Triangle has become one of my favorite drinking spots in Charleston....from the choice of music they play and addition of live entertainment, to the funky decor and lively bartenders. Not to mention it is the best brunch in town. Bottomless mimosas and the best eggs benedict I have ever had keep me going back week after week!

Re: “Coleman Public House

Excellent beer selections accompanied by wonderful food. My wife had the lamb burgers and iceberg wedge salad, while I had the red curry shrimp skewers and a flatbread. I look forward to their full menu being in service. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys quality beer.

Re: “Coleman Public House

Nice cozy small bar with amazing beer selection. The bartender was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend beers spot on. We had the lamb burgers for an app. They were great, cooked to perfect medium rare, with a great flavor. After that we ordered the Santa Fe Flat bread and the California Burger. Those too were excellent. I must say that the bread they use for their burgers is one of my favorite things. I will definitely be coming back soon for some more.

Re: “Triangle Char and Bar

Had dinner last night and it was wonderful! One of the better experiences I have had as of late. I had the General Lee and my wife had the Cuban, truly one of the better we have had in town. I love the grass fed beef. It has great flavor and according to our server is better for you than grain fed beef. The service was quick, energetic and thoghtful. We will return.

Re: “Triangle Char and Bar

Rude.

The bartender's reaction when I simply asked if I could order some food made it perfectly clear I was being a horrible inconvenience to her.

Didn't stay for food. I don't need that crap.

Re: The Commentist....

Right there with you. The burgers are just 'ok.' You better options in West Ashley are Sesame or Parson Jacks for burgers. Too bad, because the menu (at least on paper) has a lot of potential. They just need someone that can execute.

Re: “Triangle Char and Bar

Look I'm not a food critic, but I do have a lot of restaurant experience back of the house and front. That being said, first of all Triangle's location is perfect, the atmosphere was awesome. The service was okay, and the menu looked really interesting for a char grill. But the food me and my wife had was less than disappointing. The asparagus fries were flat and the aioli was like mayo and lemon......Horrible! We also tried all four of the egg rolls and the sauces, not worth the money at all! The Steak and Chicken skewers had no taste of lime or ginger at all. And the peanut butter I'm sorry "peanut sauce" was well, peanut butter. The champaign vinagerette was lame and had no signature. And the Pork loin platter was awful. The pork was cooked well but the the balsamic stuff tasted like pancake syrup, the sauteed spinach was like sauteed garlic with salt. Gross! The only thing worth anything on this platter was the sweet potatoe fries. Thank God they were out of the lamb flank because it would have been 3 extra dollars wasted. I wish I would have tried the burgers and maybe the comment would have been better but I wont go back to try my fate.

Re: “Sesame Burgers & Beer

If you're gonna give them a one-star review, please indicate which location you're talking about, for my sake if nothing else. I was underwhelmed on my last trip to the Mall location, and was hoping that was just a bad night. But Park Circle continues to impress me (even after probably 100+ trips there).

Re: “Sesame Burgers & Beer

This place is awesome! Everything Ive had there is great and I would recommend the black bean burger for sure! The only bad thing I would have to say is that the wait staff could be a little more friendly ...

Re: “Sesame Burgers & Beer

Park Circle Sesame lost their gem of a manager. Is it as good as it was last year about this time?

Re: “Sesame Burgers & Beer

I've now tried out sesame a couple times. The food is decent. The wait staff is cold, at best, they are inattentive and unhelpful. I tried to watch a game, but everyone was too busy to change the channel for me. This will be the last time I go to Sesame. I recommend you don't even try it--the food isn't worth the hassle.

Re: “Rita's Seaside Grille

Overall great experience, the Wife and I had lunch here a couple weeks ago. We sat out on the patio and soaked in the atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the Chili-burger and it was gianormous and spicetastic! Really enjoyed the fries too, they had a unique sweet & salty flavor. Great beer on tap - no Guinness though :( Almost had to drop it a star for that, but since I loved everything else about it I figured I'd still give it a five. We plan to visit often.

Re: “Grindz Burgers & Brew

We have given this burger joint several chances at winning our patronage, and after our experience yesterday I can assure you we will never be back. My boyfriend and I have many friends and when we go out we tend to invite as many of them as possible, so they will not only be losing our business, but theirs as well. Staff is rude, clientele is something to be desired and god forbid if you play the juke box in the corner. Everytime we have dropped $10-$12 bucks into the jukebox, the staff turns the volume way down or turns the jukebox off entirely. If they have a policy of turning it down or off everytime someone puts money in it, why do they have it? Food is typical bar fare and does not stand out from the hundreds of other bars in the area. I suggest you take your friends and your appetites some where else.

Re: “Grindz Burgers & Brew

I've had 3 different burgers from Grindz now, and I wasn't a bit disappointed with any of them. They were all very good! Went there last night and I had the Cuban sandwich and my wife ordered the pulled pork nachos and we shared them both. The Cuban sandwich and the nachos were awesome. Sandwich was big, juicy and very flavorful. Their pulled pork is excellent too. Service still needs a little work though.
