Park Circle Sesame lost their gem of a manager. Is it as good as it was last year about this time?
I've now tried out sesame a couple times. The food is decent. The wait staff is cold, at best, they are inattentive and unhelpful. I tried to watch a game, but everyone was too busy to change the channel for me. This will be the last time I go to Sesame. I recommend you don't even try it--the food isn't worth the hassle.
Best sunday brunch in town!!! Bottomless mimosas and unbelievable benedicts! Great to go there when the weather is pretty and sit outside!
You want that burger rare? You can get it here.
Overall great experience, the Wife and I had lunch here a couple weeks ago. We sat out on the patio and soaked in the atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the Chili-burger and it was gianormous and spicetastic! Really enjoyed the fries too, they had a unique sweet & salty flavor. Great beer on tap - no Guinness though :( Almost had to drop it a star for that, but since I loved everything else about it I figured I'd still give it a five. We plan to visit often.
We have given this burger joint several chances at winning our patronage, and after our experience yesterday I can assure you we will never be back. My boyfriend and I have many friends and when we go out we tend to invite as many of them as possible, so they will not only be losing our business, but theirs as well. Staff is rude, clientele is something to be desired and god forbid if you play the juke box in the corner. Everytime we have dropped $10-$12 bucks into the jukebox, the staff turns the volume way down or turns the jukebox off entirely. If they have a policy of turning it down or off everytime someone puts money in it, why do they have it? Food is typical bar fare and does not stand out from the hundreds of other bars in the area. I suggest you take your friends and your appetites some where else.
The best in town
NO BURGER LIKE IT
I've had 3 different burgers from Grindz now, and I wasn't a bit disappointed with any of them. They were all very good! Went there last night and I had the Cuban sandwich and my wife ordered the pulled pork nachos and we shared them both. The Cuban sandwich and the nachos were awesome. Sandwich was big, juicy and very flavorful. Their pulled pork is excellent too. Service still needs a little work though.
Best new breakfast/Brunch in town! Worth the trip from Mt.P for the grilled banana bread, cinnamon coffee, grits, pancakes with carmalized bananas. Awesome menu ,SO YUMMY, and you can't beat the prices either! I'll be back soon-
I've been to Grindz three times now and every time I've been there, I've been blown away at the taste, portion size and price of the food. The place itself isn't much to look at, but the food is awesome. The menu is HUGE and everything I have tried so far has been very delicious. I recommend - chicken quesadilla, spicy buffalo chicken dip, crab cake sliders (SO GOOD), monster fries, and the bacon and cheese burger. You won't be disappointed! These are the only things I've tried, so when I go back for lunch today I'm sure the list will grow... Give it a try. If you are a burger, chicken and cheese kind of person, you'll love it!
I live walking distance from Grindz so when it opened, we had to check it out. My hopes were high there would be a gourmet burger joint with some good drafts where we could hang out, enjoy a good meal, and walk home. The only part of that dream was that I could have walked home. But I didn't - I ran.
I'll preface my review by saying we did go to Grindz within their first month of opening. However, there is only so much to making an excellent burger once you have the menu created. I went with the Dirty Sanchez, not because of the name, but the idea of fusing mexican food and a burger together sounded too good to be true. It was. I ordered the burger medium and it came out essentially seared and bloody raw in the middle. The toppings were all there but none of them were of any particular good quality and they didn't blend together. Although I didn't hate the burger, I was disappointed that it cost me $9 and really wasn't very well made. In addition to being a lackluster burger, it took a good 30 minutes for it to come out. I asked the waitress 2 seperate times for status of my meal and was dismissed both times. A fellow diner ordered the cheesesteak sandwich which was a clumsy disappointment. Tasted like the cooked oscar mayer roast beef in a dry pan and stuffed it into a stale roll. The beer selection stinks and the ambiance rivals that of a DMV lobby.
As Jeff said, this place is not BAD. But it's not great or even good. The food is just average, the service is lackluster, and the atmosphere is a confusing quasi-family friendly-sports bar-strip mall vibe. I can honestly say I would rather spend my $9 for a burger at Ruby Tuesday's. Or go to Hardess and get 2.
We just discovered Ritas this past summer & it is now our fav. on Folly Beach! Delicious blackened burgers w/Homemade pimento cheese & the coldest beer on the strip! What?
Great service too! Beats the other overpriced choices hands
I've been to Sesame about a ka-billion times. While I don't eat a lot of beef, I can vouch for the salivation reflex that kicks in among my friends when I mention this place's very name over their burgers. I love their turkey burger and the bean patty. I love the sweet potato fries. The staff is remarkably friendly, welcoming, and stable (low turnover is a very good sign for a restaurant). The bottle beer selection is terrific, and while they only have three drafts they rotate quality beers... no Bud handles here! Parking is plentiful and it serves as a fine gateway to the Park Circle string of tasty restaurants down East Montague.
I just wish they'd bring back live music.
Had dinner there Friday night with friends....the place was packed! Such a refreshing change from Amuse, which looked like a ghost town all the time.
Service was good, our waitress was attentive, and made some great recommendations. Our burgers were HUGE and delicious.
This will be a regular stop if we need our meat fix!
This place is very vegetarian friendly. The owner of this place also owns Five Loaves in Mt. Pleasant if that says anything. Every "special" burger that you see on the menu can be replaced with an awesome black bean patty and the sweet potato fries are a must. You can also customize your own burger with a slew of toppings. Their salads are delicious and their appetizers are very unique, not to mention their beer selection. Give it a try, you will not be let down. Shouts to Jen for being the coolest waitress there! I can't forget Matt either :)
Don't even bother going if you are vegetarian. Black bean falafel burger is cooked on meat grill so it's not even an option. Salad was $6 and consisted of sandy lettuce with very little else. Husband ordered seafood basket and it was greasy and nothing to rave about. Lunch with 2 beers, salad & seafood - $32....not worth it. Staff seems indifferent. We won't be back.
Really good burgers, run by locals and their bacon cheeseburger is no joke. I'll be back soon and often.
Had lunch there this past Saturday. I had a bleu cheese burger and it was very good!! Home made chips were pretty awesome too and the service was excellent!! And the decor is very nice.
I'm lookin forward workin with yall, this is grilllmannn aka da saucemannn!Congraduation on success with the restaurant!
