Hey Adam83 - Sorry to prove you wrong, Mr Conspiracy Theorist: I am in no way affiliated with Sweet Ce-Ce's and I have posted other reviews. Good job with your fact checking. Why don't you spend your time going through the Warren Commission Report with a fine toothed comb while you're at it. Really, that's fine, don't go to Sweet Ce-Ce's - they'll be more for the rest of us!
Simply the best frozen yogurt in Charleston!
So glad we have Sweet CeCe's in the Holy City.
At Sweet CeCe's on South Market right now watching the Super Bowl on their big TV, using their free WiFi on my computer, and eating a huge cup of Charleston Chocolate flavor frozen yogurt with brownie and cheesecake bites. Can't get too much better than this. Aren't too many frozen yogurt places like this!
Kind of hard not to write a good review on this place. It's WAY over the top! Just amazing, and glad Charleston has Sweet CeCe's. Quality, quality, quality - and, the prices are good. They also have specials too which make it even cheeper. I work about 1 block away and go several times a week its so good. I really try to get either their vegan flavor or gluten free, and I try (not always) to put on a delicious healthy topping - they told me there are almost 50 of them. sometimes (fridays) i cheat! Anyway, highly recommend Sweet CeCe's in the Market. You can't be disappointed.
My wife and I just read the other reviews, and we agree. There are a lot frozen yogurt and ice cream places in Charleston now, so we imagine there is more competition. Not really sure there is any competition for Sweet CeCe's. Can't add much to this review; but, just try it. You will see - its very different, and you do get a lot for your money which is important to my wife and me. We like it.
So glad to see it listed in City Paper! It's kind of new in Charleston, and my family and I love it. We go all the time to Sweet CeCe's, and have never been disappointed. Great flavors, amazing atmosphere, and its just a fun place to be. It's next to Bubba Gumps sort of. The Charleston flavors are great by the way - French Quarter Praline is totally addictive.
Out of the ballpark! Sweet CeCe's is nothing like the other frozen yogurt places we've been to in Charleston. It's fro-yo on steroids! Staff was well trained, the place was spotless, the selection was huge, and the flavors were unbelievable. It tasted like rich ice cream; but, they said it was gluten free, and non-fat. We're definitely going back - loved it!!! VERY CHARLESTON!
Legitimate Flavors served by an Amazing Staff. This store gives a very welcoming feeling from the second you step in the door. Dont know the difference between ice cream and gelato but nonetheless this is the best ice cream/ gelato I have ever tasted!
Unlike all the other ice cream parlors, they make all their ice creams ON-SITE. You can even see them make it on-site. The time I was there, just watching them fold the sweet dark cherries into the ice cream definitely made me want to return to try that flavor on my next visit. In fact, I think they make everything there except for one or two things which is specially made for them in Europe. Most of their flavors are not found anywhere else in Charleston - Stracciatella for example. Ask them for a free sample while you're there. I tried Tiramisu and it was delicious & rich. Also, the girls behind the counter are very friendly and customer oriented. Even if there is a line behind you, they don't try to rush you. They treat you as if you're the only customer there and are more than happy to let you sample more than just one flavor. I was there with two other co-workers and we all raved about our varied flavor choices. If you go there, make sure they top off your ice cream with a belgian waffle. I used that in place of the wooden spoon and it was scrumptious to the last bite. For an extra quarter or two, they'll fill the bottom of your cone with whipped cream. I basically said "yes" to evertyhing they asked me and I was treated to a unique cone I've never enjoyed so much.
How can you go wrong? Crepes, berries, bananas, nutella, chocolate, nuts, cream cheese, custard, ice cream, holy cow! The combinations are mind boggling! They are sooo nice too!
Cute shop, nice staff, GREAT gelato! Try the pistachio...yum! There was a crowd but the young ladies behind the counter were professional, patient and smiling/chatting with the customers. Most people were sampling before buying. It was like a big gelato party! A fun memory of our visit to Charleston.
paolos gelato is always excellent. "substandard"? compared to what? paolo's is definitely better than modica was, and if you need proof, ask yourself which one is still open for business.
paolo is always very personable, as is the staff, and i appreciate that he puts out adventurous flavors. avocado is one of the best gelato flavors i've ever had.
Tellitlikeitisliz seriously needs to relax. My husband and I have been going to Paolo's for years, and we always leave satisfied. Customer service has NEVER been a problem. The girls there are absolute sweethearts... The fun thing about going to Paolo's is that you're always in for a surprise/something new. I guess it's an adventure that you weren't quite ready for Liz. Next time you should just go to Ben & Jerry's. Their ice cream is made in factories, filled with preservatives and high fructose corn syrup, and shipped half way across the country.
My son and I just discovered Paolo's last week and it's now on our favorites list for downtown. In addition to gelato, they have the BEST cannoli ever!
I had a banana-nutella crepe and then later a chicken crepe. Both were delicious. If you're out on Folly and want a quick and tasty meal, then stop by Tokyo Crepes.
These days it's hard to get people to agree on things. Some people like wearing shorts all the time, but other people think you always have to dress up nice. Some people like movies with cartoons in them, but other people only like watching real people. How do you find a middle ground? You don't. It's impossible. But, there's one thing I've found where I think we can all agree: food. People like food.
Now before you argue against my statement, think about it for a second. Everyone I've ever talked to likes food. My mother likes food. My brother likes food. My stepdad likes food even more than my mom. The president likes food, too, probably. I've never eaten with him, but I can picture him sitting at a table eating a big bowl of macaroni and cheese right now. Homeless people ask me for money all the time just so they can buy food. It seems to me that food's pretty popular.
And, when you really think about it, there's a lot to like about food. It tastes good and it's good to eat. That's all I can think of for now, but those two things alone make me like food. Furthermore, I just thought of something else: Food is probably the healthiest and best thing to put in your mouth. You can ask a doctor about that.
And, so, thus, eat at this delicious crepe truck.
Re: “Sweet CeCe's”
My husband, two young daughters and I live in Canada and visited Charleston for the first time last week. OMG!!! This city is great. It was great fun walking the streets of the city and seeing all the beautiful homes, court yards and, gardens. Our girls are too young to appreciate the history of the city but they are the perfect age to enjoy the shops and restaurants. A favorite place for all four of us was Sweet CeCe's, in the market area. The weather was iffy one day, so we ducked into this shop for a snack. The girls were treated like little princesses by the staff and, had such fun creating their yogurt cups. Great place to get out of the weather and indulge. This is the best frozen yogurt shoppe we've ever been to in the U.S. or in Canada (and yes, we have them here too!).
