Love this place!!
This place is awesome! I will go back again and again and again. And the mac n cheese is to die for! I give it 10 stars and its only 5 so you do the math. AMAZING
We recently tried Okra Grill after some of our local friends recommended it. Everything we had was awesome and it will be our new favorite. Even my picky 10 year old cleared her plate and tried eating off of ours so that in itself is a miracle! I am thankful that Tommy Condon's, one of our other favs had a B on the door over St. Patrick's Day weekend because it led us to this new favorite.
Page's is hands down the best restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Food is excellent, staff friendly and accommodating and prices very reasonable. We eat there three or four times a week and have never been disappointed. I cannot understand the negative post above unless it was written by a disgruntled employee who just couldn't measure up.
The real deal in Charleston Metro ! First, this is the ONLY DELI THAT PREPARES ITS OWN ROAST BEEF, ROAST TURKEY AND CORNED BEEF ON PREMISES. Hot Corned Beef is THE BEST WITHIN 822 miles [NYC]. Secondly, the portions are so large, it is not unusual to see folks rewrapping 1/2 sandwich for later.
Nearby Southern Season Deli and its piggish ownership took over the parking lot but patrons of MOZZO have not been deterred. They keep streaming in for lunch through to 4pm closing. So. Season Deli charges the same or more for sandwiches less than half the size + certainly of much lower quality.
MOZZO bread & salads are fresh-made. MOZZO ROCKS !!
visiting from north Indiana, we were very pleased with the bb co. !!! we had eaten several local rest. and were staying on folly beach and ate almost all to their rest. and we would have gone back several times to bb co. it was that awesome! the cleanliness, to taste, to service, my husband didnt want to try it, because it was "healthy alternative" but after eating a breakfast wrap, the best yogurt/granola on earth, we wish we would have found it sooner in our vaca!!! we left the next morning! we have been home for 2 weeks, and we are still missing our best breakfast ever!!! thanks for the hospitality!!!
With quality ingredients and fresh-baked bread, you won't find a better sandwich in Charleston. The sides and iced Chai tea are delicious, too. We'll be back --- soon!
Five stars! This place has the freshest and most deliscious food! Not only is it healthy for you, but it tastes amazing!
I have been to a lot of the new restaurants in town, but my wife and I went back to one that we have not been to in a long time. The Swamp Fox in the Francis Marion hotel is a true classic. We took advantage of Restaurant Weeks 3 for $30 menu. WOW were we impressed. We started with fried green tomatoes that were cooked to perfection. The goat cheese and pepper jelly that were paired with the tomato made me want to have it for the whole meal, not just for a starter. Than we moved on to some of the best flounder we have had in a while. It had just the right amount of spicy peach glaze on a crunchy light panko breading. Finally, we finished with the apple tart with amazing caramel sauce. With the food tasting this great and the incredible atmosphere of the Francis Marion hotel and view of the square, not only will we be back, but I think I might just become a regular!
The shrimp and grits are the best in Charleston (which means the best anywhere, really). The Cobb salad and the Chicken Ranch salad (a frequent special with fresh corn, fried green tomatoes, chicken, and a home made ranch dressing with a punch) are long-time favorites. Every "vegetable" (sides, really) on the blackboard is fresh, local, home-made and amazing. The fried green tomato BLT rocks. And how does a southern chef make such awesome french fries and huevos rancheros? Oh, and did I mention the fried chicken? The food is always top-notch and consistent. The service is knowledgeable and friendly. And since they've added more enclosed space, the wait is more tolerable (shorter and with cocktails!), the restrooms easier (two instead of one...no line), and they have a bartender cranking out creative southern-based adult beverages. Rock on, Hominy Grill.
Amazing food and great outside seating area with a tranquil water fountain. It is tough finding a vegetarian restaurant in the Charleston area. Yet this one more than makes up for the lack of supply. Great tofu-stuffed wraps and delicious water infused with fruits or veggies (I have had strawberry and cucumber water there - it varies based on the chef's preference). Black Bean provides a much needed respite during my days downtown.
Wow- Chef Ellis really serves great wonderful organic food- good for the soul! He cares totally about being LOCAL- using Thackery Farms- a local farm and goes out there daily and farms himself- he cares about his customers and that is his primary concern. If you are vegan or not- stop in for a treat for the best organic tasty food around and good for your wallet too! Can't wait for the James Island location- more yummy food for the area-
I love Hominy Grill. Yes, it does get packed so plan ahead or get there early. To me, it's always been well worth the food. I'm a breakfast person so this place is FANTASTIC for me.
I can't believe these reviews. The food here is incredible. I've been here for breakfast, which was good but probably a little too hyped up. Fine, let the tourist go here for breakfast...
I went here for dinner for the first time on Monday night and I actually woke up thinking about my food from the night before. It was incredibly delicious. There were four of us and all of our food was delicious, one had shrimp and grits, one had cajun meatloaf and one had trigger fish with cheesy deep fried grits. I had lima beans, mac and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes and corn bread. I could eat these for the rest of my life. Not to mention that we all drooled over the menu and all had a really hard time deciding what to order.
Our waitress was helpful with helping us choose, very friendly and attentive.
I can't wait to come back here for dinner.
Best food for the price hands down.
Very very good place for breakfast. Laid back atmosphere, and the interior is decorated with (you guessed it) tons of renditions and pictures of dogs. They allow people to bring their dogs outside, and in general I feel like the place does a good job of embodying the spirit of Folly Beach.
Most importantly the food is great. They put their own little twists on traditional breakfast so the place has a personality too. Definitely suggest it, but go early to get a seat!
Surprisingly delicious. Somehow when I make healthy food at home, it doesn't taste nearly as good! And it takes longer. I ordered online on Sunday night - the site said the food would arrive in 45 mins. It came in 20!
Great to have a healthy delivery option with easy online ordering (add/remove ingredients) - just like larger cities!
This place is a new fave.
I hesitate to write this. I don't want to go here again and have to wait a long time for a table...once people try the food...but i don't won't any negative reviews to be posted and that somehow scare anyone off.
Go here and try it. You won't be disappointed if you love local cuisine.
I've tried countless items on the menu since first stopping in and i've never had a bad item yet.
Go ahead and go anywhere in town for fried seafood..and pay 22 bucks for a seafood platter and i doubt it will taste as yummy as anything this kitchen produces.
simple food done right. choices of excellent sides. incrediable deserts what more can you ask for. Don't pay attention to any negatives and don't pay crazy prices ..this place has it all.
as far as the negative review of service..i've never had anything but excellent service so i really have no idea what thats about...actually even if the service is off on a day you choose to go don't worry about it cause the kitchen and the food is going to make up for any front end downside.
Good luck Sam. Great design for the place. I really liked the enviroment inside. the menu looks good, and I am sure the cruise crowd will like it as well. Hookas are also a great idea. Nothing better than hooka and a cup of turkish coffee under the Charleston sky!
