Three of us had lunch there Sat, Apr 10, while visiting the Charleston area. Two of three had great food, one said "it was OK". We're from the DC area and really appreciated the fast service, hot food, and friendly atmosphere. We were in and out in less than 45 min yet we did not rush nor feel rushed.
I had the pleasure of dining at Lazo's on Tuesday of this week, and am about to go back today. Some of the many parts of a great meal at a restaurant include the ingredients, the preparation, the service, and the atmosphere. So, the ingredients can't be beat at Lazo's. I had shrimp and grits for breakfast--organic shrimp produced by the restaurant's own team, on the best hominy I've ever had. I could eat this every day for a month. Then put together so well, cooked just right. Delivered with love for the customer to a table outdoors under the most amazing blue sky with the sounds of surf, birds, and happy Folly Beach revelers. This meal was elegant in all these respects, yet in a totally casual, typically Folly Beach kinda place. (My wife and two young sons enjoyed theirs as much as I did!)
A friend and I recently went to the Blue Rose Cafe. We were there for breakfast. The server made us feel very welcome and was attentive. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. The server informed us that the owner made all the desserts and specialty breads. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. It was a total delight and I will return for a visit. West Ashley has a true treasure.
You want that burger rare? You can get it here.
Overall great experience, the Wife and I had lunch here a couple weeks ago. We sat out on the patio and soaked in the atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the Chili-burger and it was gianormous and spicetastic! Really enjoyed the fries too, they had a unique sweet & salty flavor. Great beer on tap - no Guinness though :( Almost had to drop it a star for that, but since I loved everything else about it I figured I'd still give it a five. We plan to visit often.
Had a plain bagel with cream cheese today. I was informed not to toast it since they were "still warm". Not only was it not still warm, it tasted old. While crispy, it was quite dense and tough, small, and much too much cream cheese for the bagel's size. The cream cheese also wasn't salted enough or flavorful. For $2.65, that's the last one I'll be having.
I love Mozzo! Huge menu with lots of options for everyone, even my vegetarian husband. We love to grab a sandwich before heading out on the boat since it is nearby Shem Creek. Though the prices are a little on the high end for a deli, the taste and quick service make it worth while!
Excellent food, good service. THE SHRIMP AND GRITS are GREAT. Am a regular customer. B.P.
The entire menu is great. THE SHRIMP AND GRITS ARE THE VERY BEST.
B.P
my family and i visited the restaurant, and boy were we completely surprised. our server AJ was the cutest and most polite, the food was awesome!the pastrami reuben is the bomb.
The service was friendly and attentive. The food (especially the SIDES) ranged from very good to JAW DROPPING. I will never look at lima beans the same way again.
My dad loves this place. We come in once a month or so for him to have pancakes and me to have the corned beef hash omelet. The staff is always friendly and I love watching the cooks in the open kitchen.
duuuuuuude, give me a break. Six 5 star reviews in 2 days? all from first time reviewers?? The names are creative, i'll give you that. I have seen your store and i do intend to come by, but these fake reviews that read like advertisements make you look desperate
The Bagel Shop is a great addition to the Charleston Market. Now I'm from the South, but bottom line this is good food. Cinnamon raisin bagels with some cream cheese is awesome. It's not just the bagels, the sandwiches are sooo good as well. I will be a frequent customer.
I was in town from NYC for 3 days. I dropped into the Bagel Shop on my first mornng in Charleston and was back for 3 more meals. Their bagels and sandwiches were as good, if not better than any plave I frequent at home. I'll be back!!
YAY! A bagel shop in Charleston that is actually open on a Sunday! The bagels were awesome and I LOVE LOVE LOVE their homemade olive cream cheese. The Everything bagel I had definately had everything on it - garlic, poppy seeds, sesame, a littel salt - just like I like it!
I haven't been able to get by for lunch but the sandwich menu was very appealing with a broad variety of sandwiches. I even noticed a couple of vegetarian options which means ALL of my friends would have a choice if we ate lunch there.
The owners were there when I stoppped by and they were so friendly and welcoming.
I am so thankful for a local, family owned business that I can support. I'd definately give them a try ( or two, or three...)
Ran in to grab some lunch on opening day, had the veggie wrap which was outstanding, my husband had the portobella caprese which was also terrific. We are both vegetarians and were expecting a struggle to find fresh, healthy choices for our lunch, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the options. Looking forward to our next opportunity to dine there.
I love the Bagel Shop. The quality of the food and coffee speaks for itself, delicious. I agree with previous reviewer about ordering kinks and lack of menus but attribute that to it being new. I went opening week and have been back since and have seen improvement. The staff has been friendly and helpful in my experience. I work on King St. and am thrilled to have a new breakfast and lunch spot.
I'm so happy the Bagel Shop is finally open, I've been in almost everyday. The bagels are outstanding, crisp outside and chewy inside, definitely the best around by far. I've had the everything, multigrain, and cinnamon raisin bagels and the blueberry and sundried tomato cream cheese and have loved it all. The sandwiches I've tried have also been exceptional, the turkey panini, shrimp wrap and chicken salad have been excellent and I'm looking forward to trying others. The Bagel Shop was much needed in Charleston and I will be a frequent customer.
Re: “The Bagel Shop”
so accommodating and friendly! the bagels are small but tasty, and they make the bagel sandwiches fresh to order (and add ingredients specially for you, if you want). the cold-pressed coffee is a nice treat as well! I definitely recommend this, such a nice atmosphere.. and take your order to the college's sculpture garden for a nice quiet setting!
