I must admit, this afternoon at Leon's, was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We sat at your oyster bar, and made me feel like I was at Acme's or Felix's oyster bar. The best part was we we're here in our own home of Charleston,
eating select oysters from Light House point I believe from Va. They were outstanding and sipping on a original Coors Banquet draft. Your entire wait staff made our dining experience even more pleasurable. I believe his name was Tom, great job by him, and your new bar keeper.
We ate a half dozen of the oysters, which were spot on, and we both had the 2 piece fried chicken, the best I've ever had, along with the Cauliflower soup, which will have me coming back for another bowl.
There was a HUGE miscommunication between our party and Shrimp Co. We had a party of about 55 people (give or take) show up unexpectedly. They stepped up to the plate and did an amazing job serving us from the bar as well as from the kitchen. Despite the stress and craziness, their staff was fun, friendly and more than willing to take on the daunting task of having an unexpected party our size. I'll definitely be coming here again and recommending then to everyone I know! P.S. Aside from their awesome service, their BBQ nachos and Crab Cakes are AMAZING!!!
The oysters were very good..... The chicken was greasy and over spiced ... Had a dozen good oysters then the bill came at $70.00... Was still hungry sorry never again

Striving for authenticity of a neighborhood oyster house this falls flat. Expensive for what it is and the sides are lackluster.
Huge fan of this place. Everytime I have been the food has been spot on and the service good. Must try the shrimp toast, Siam salad, barley salad, and of course the sandwiches. Definitely a place to check out.

So very glad I got to eat the fried chicken and check out this creative and tasty new spot before work pulled me out of Charleston for a few months. It was one of the last things I did before leaving downtown and I can't wait to get back. Best of luck to Brooks and Tim!
So glad the prices come down on the garlic crabs now that they're in abundance.....also have fresh local shrimp and they are good...nothing like fresh seafood from our coast....the garlic crabs can be messy but are great and enjoyed them very much....
We were visiting Charleston so I took my boyfriend there for Father's Day. I'm from Charleston and it is one of my favorite spot. It was his first time there but he enjoyed everything. We both had the seafood platter and YES the scallops were the best. We look forward to visiting again soon with other family and friends.
The service was really poor...as if they were all new. Two of our entries were wrong. We were told to wait about 30 minutes to be seated inside. After 30 minutes we were called and told we had to eat outside anyway. The quality of the food was no better than a fast food restaurant. If we would have been told we had to sit outside in the beginning we wouldn't have waited. Don't waste your time going here. The photos on their web site were obviously photoshopped as well.

Many of us reviewing this place are locals and have very specific complaints, and these complaints have nothing to do with decor, dress, or atmosphere.

The absence of overly dressed people with strange accents isn't missed by the locals or thankfully the management. It is authentic creek side fish-shack environment - a great local favorite.
Wow where do I start with this nightmare. I am a pretty easy going guy, rarely send food back or complain. It was a busy Friday night at Folly Beach but Snapper jacks wasn't too busy, we waited at the bar, had a good beer and were seated at the table in about 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes our drinks were about gone and we were curious where our waitress was, the hostess found her sitting at the next table next to us with friends, I had noticed her there when we sat down, she was there the entire 20 minutes and laughing with the friends I didn't think she was a waitress. The waitress, Lauren, came over and took our drink order, we ordered soon after and that's where the nightmare started. After about an hour we wondered what had happened to our food, there really wasn't many people eating in this place. About an hour 15 one plate came out, and it took another 15 minutes to get the rest. my chicken was paper thin, cold and dry as rubber, whatever the flatbread shrimp thing was was burned on the bottom and the Salmon was 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long, for $18 REALLY!!, I have had bigger and better Salmon at Sams as a sampler. The only decent plate was the fried shrimp, tough to screw that up. I gave my plate back to Lauren the waitress and our friend returned the burned flatbread thing and asked for an appetizer which she got quick, it was only shrimp dip, pretty bland btw. The manager came over about 15 minutes later, his name was Jay, he did the typical manager "i'm sorry but I really don't care" routine and said he would look into why our food was so bad, so late and so separated in delivery, I didn't expect to see him again and I wasn't disappointed. So after the chicken and flatbread thing was removed we still owed almost $100 between 4 people, friggen insane for the night we had in that place. I have been in Charleston for almost 20 years and have never had such an experience. We will never go back there, and I tell everyone I know the same, I hope tourists read this and stay clear as well. Lauren find another job, maybe involving a pole, Jay I heard there's a opening at McDonalds, you're a poor excuse for a manager, you weren't that busy you couldn't take care of paying customers
I went to wreckfish on 3/ 28/2014 me and my sister went out to have a nice day which turn out to a nightmare. I left my phone on the table. an you would think all the money this place is making. they would do better this is so true about managers thats has a business the manager at 7690 northwoods blvd. north charleston. he has a real bad addittude he does not know how to deal with his customers. And I will not be going back to Wreckfish never ever again he sucks as a manger and remember the customers are always right. without the customers you have no business what do you solve by being so ruled. The managers name is DAN. He had the nerve to hang up the phone because he couldn't handle the problem thats what you call a weak man with no proud in his business. and if i could do a survery he would get 000000000000 mangers are suppose to set example to be leaders not bring down a bad name for the company managers suck at WReckfish
I've been back a few times lately, and my opinion of the place has changed. The new guy cooking the oysters has no idea what he is doing. He overcooks them and only puts out tiny portions, which are scoffed up by the fat ladies waiting like hyenas at a road kill. They steal all the bivalves and hoard them in their little plastic baskets. I waited two times for over 15 minutes for oysters, only to be able to eat about 4-5 dried up little things that resembles old shoe leather. I won't return until they get someone there who knows what they are doing, and someone from the management to reign in those pigs along the side.
This place is very average and overpriced. If you want to pay premium prices for Red Lobster food, this is your place.

I had dinner at the Wreckfish a couple of days ago. I was disappointed to find that they do not have Wreckfish on the menu. I had the sheepshead and it was just fine. It was not as warm as I thought it should be but not enough to complain about. If you are looking for a place to eat with a lot of choices but is not fussy, try the Wreckfish.
Restaurant Week has won again! We went to Blossom Sunday night for the special menu and, in addition, tried the gnocchi. The food was delicious and our service was excellent. Thanks Rick, and Blossom for a wonderful dining experience!
