Re: “D'Allesandro's Pizza

Best pizza in Charleston!

Re: “La Tela Pizzeria

Great Italian family restaurant with wood fired oven pizzas; excellent fresh salads,
and home-made pasta. Excellent table service, with knowledgeable servers and
wonderful wine/beer list. Don't miss desserts! Bill, Kiawah Island

Re: “La Pizzeria

Best pizza in Charleston, HANDS DOWN. Fresh toppings, imported cheese, homemade sauce. Wish they were still open for lunch all week, but at least they open at 3 so you can get a pie on the way home from work.

Re: “Famulari's

We ordered for delivery and "built our own" Chicago deep dish with spinach, black olives and meatballs. It arrived hot, which is always a bonus, since pizza always tastes just a little different when you reheat it. This is our new favorite pizza place - - the crust was delicious, the sauce and toppings were fresh, tasty and generous. Our order cost us $28.00 total, but there was enough pizza to last several days because just one slice of this stuff is enough for a meal.

Re: “EVO

I don't know about "best pizza in charleston" but that's only becuase I haven't tried it all yet! Went in for lunch and ordered the margherita pizza. It was delicious! I moved to Charleston from DC and these pies definetly rival the famous 2 Amy's in DC. EVO is definitely worth it for the pizza. Also got the arugula salad with procuitto; light, delicious, perfect starter to the thin italian style pies.

Re: “Norm's Pizza, Subs & Grill

I always enjoyed Norm's Pizza. A cool little neighborhood spot with a nice laid-back vibe. I too was disappointed when I found out they were shutting down. I'm excited that they are back and with a liquor license, eating a big norms pizza is just not the same without a nice pitcher of beer.

The popular Thursday night pizza special is back but different with the new ownership. Instead of half off any large pizza with limited hours its now $7.99 for a one-topping large all day long.

Re: “Norm's Pizza, Subs & Grill

I heard the rumors that Norm's was shutting down and was upset that one of downtowns most iconic pizza places was closing. Imagine my surprise when I drove by, saw the open sign and found out NORM is back. The original owner that opened the place in 1979 is back and running the place again. I was also told by Norm's very nice daughters the situation with the beer liscence (they are getting it March 1st). The food is great and I love that the entire family is working there. You can't find a better mom and pop place to dine at. They get to know you and what you like to order. I personally LOVE their customer service. It is rare to get such great treatment at restaurants

Re: “Mia Pomodori

I really cannot say enough about this place. Pretty much the best tomato sauce in Charleston, including Il Cortile, Fulton Five, and Lucca. The pizza is second-to-none: made to order, handled with care, nothing but fresh ingredients. The stromboli and calzones are also better than any I've had in the city. This place is a gem and I hope it stays open (maybe even upgrades to a larger location) for a long time. A must-have.

Re: “La Pizzeria

If you want pizza in Mt. P, look no further. Their pasta, dessert, calzones, baked sandwiches also are terrific. My previous review stands, now with star power!

Re: “La Pizzeria

Best Bianco slice I've ever had. The Margherita slice was pretty good also. Paid about $11 for two slices and a drink.

Re: “Carolina Crust Gourmet Pizza

I think the comments are a tad bit extreme. The chairs around the tables are uncomfortable, however, the bar stools are great. The pizza is wonderful, especially "The Joe". You can find anything to complain about if you want to. I do hope that the owners will pay a little bit more attention to the service. You have an excellant opportunity going for you. The menu is delicious. You tend to have a dissappearing act going on there though. Sometimes it seems like it may be a "Serve Yourself" bar.

Re: “Mellow Mushroom

Quality gourmet; perhaps the best pizza. The whole wheat crust produces a denser, chewier crust that delightfully pairs with the many beers available. Toppings are generous and good quality. A wonderful product in a class by itself.

Re: “Brixx

Upper crust. Brixx, EVO and Monza exist as a class of quality pizza that permits the diner to escape from the all too familiar NY style and franchise presentations.

Re: “La Pizzeria

Completely overrated; it's really just average pizza.

Re: “Paisano's Pizza Grill

This place is fantastic. They make everything from scratch. They even grow their own herbs. It is by far the best quality in Charleston. The staff is also great.
