My family and I love this place. Rockin' family friendly during the day, and party at night, at least weekend nights for now :-) Oh yeah, and the food seems to get better everytime we visit!

We have been open for 2 years and please notice that I only gave myself 4 stars....that's because we know that we have to come in everyday and work hard at getting better. There is one thing you will be assured of at The DIG and thats hospitality! We are proud of the food, the staff, and the bar/restaurant itself. Come and give us a shot, I know you will be pleasantly surprised!
As far as Island residents' comments; this is coming directly from Brian Mahoney, owner at the Daniel Island Grille, If I find out you are slamming me because you are affiliated with the other restaurant down the street please stop and let your credentials stand on there own merit. I hate that you have time to slam the competition but you obviously do. If you do not have affiliation than please come by the DIG and ask for me I would like an opportunity to change your views.
Great food and atmosphere...
I agree with Aleyeat's last paragraph regarding busy nights and getting a table. If you're that busy, put a hostess on the floor. Why should the customer be put in the position to pester other customers by hoovering over them while they hopefully finish. And then it happens to you when you're winding down. Hey, but it's Poe's... Like Paris Hilton. Famous for being famous.
Have been here many times, but never a review. This can serve as a compilation I guess. Food: menu is small but the burgers and tacos are good. I have probably ordered the tuna tacos 80% of the time, mahi tacos 10%, and burger the rest of the time. All are good and safe bets. My wife orders the buffalo shrimp salad most of the time. Also, fries are some of the best in the area.
The beer at Poes is OK, decent amount of drafts, but most wasted on inane products. I have also been here when the draft system has been down, the beer tasted flat, and have also got a different beer than I ordered. For the most part though, the beer was served acceptably.
Last time I was there, I was squinting to see what was on tap when the bartender said the list is on the board. The list on the board is firstly not up to date and secondly only lists the brewery not the beer. This is something I find more and more with uneducated servers. I have ranted about this before. When asked what beers they have, they answer with the name of the brewery and omit which style. This probably comes from their macro upbringing in the beverage industry. Nobody ever says which Budweiser is that on tap? Needless to say, I never did find out what Kona was on tap although I wouldn’t have ordered it anyway. A second thing that happened after the first bartender left (shift change) was a server asked the bartender which Southern Tier and where it was from? This is a tourist destination so they were likely looking for a local product. The bartender did tell her the type, but just said I don’t know about location, not “so and so knows” or “I will find out.” Anyway, I told her Lakewood, NY and she looked at me and said “is that really where it is from?” I was thinking no, I go around to bars and make up places when people ask where a brewery is from. Minor point: most, not all of the bartenders think they are something special. Servers have been better.
The last item that is a peeve is when they are busy, it is a crapshoot for a table. You are forced to hawk over people trying to guess which one will finish first. Sometimes, if you have good Karma, a table opens up as you walk up, but then you probably gain bad Karma because there is likely someone else somewhere else in the place who has been waiting longer. The answer to this is they are busy enough where they don’t care, just be forewarned.
Will I go back, duh, yes. I just wish they cared more about the customer and the beer.
The food has always been great at Finz. I have been going there since they opened and found the food exceptional. The portions were really big too. Try the grouper Poboy!
My husband and I eat at FINZ every couple of weeks. The selection of entrees/tapas are great. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I recommend FINZ to all my friends and family. Live music, cold drinks and great food!
I am not surprised that there are negative reviews of Poe's. (Or any resturant on here). A lot of people will only post a review if they had a bad experience.
Poe's is a great place. The burgers are fantastic but I actually prefer the chicken sandwich versions. The only complaint that I have against Poe's is that they never have host seating. The seat yourself plan is great if they are not busy but I have seen lots of people jump in front of others when they are busy or small groups will take up a large table.
the fried chicken sandwich was delicious. the accompaning fries were from the nearest burger king and the "famous" fried pie was a only a slight improvement over the fruit pies available (two for a dollar) at the golden arches. it is comfortable and clean, watched over by a friendly and helpful staff. if one is careful, he or she will be rewarded with a delectable dining experience.

Dropped $50 on a few beers.
Top notch. Thank you again for that Southern Hospitality. It's always good.
very cool spot, will be back for sure. Outdoor patio looks fun when the weather comes around. Great meals all the way around!
Im with the negative people, this bar sucks. I can't wait for this place to go out of business so another bar can take the prime location. I hope this recession will end this place. If this review causes anyone to avoid this place, mission accomplished. Think about it, I took time out of my day to create an account here just to tell the world how awful The Brick is. Everyone who gave this place glowing reviews must work there or be friends with people who work there. What makes this place suck is the people who work there. Just plain rude.
I have tried them all and as far as a cool, local spot to hang....Its worth the trip! I was really suprised at the food, GREAT! Staff was friendly and the outdoor patio was as good as it gets. Cool crowd too, really diverse.
A place to have a beer with Dad! Great local spot and best Burger I have had in a while! Service was good and manager came over 2x to check on us!
Half Price Burger Night!! need I say more?
We have sampled a lot of the food and beers on tap and really have enjoyed most of the selections. The Cobb and steak salads are really good. A few of the apps are kind of small, but everything is very good and interesting. The staff has been very friendly even if we are a bit older than the target crowd. We support the over 21 limit - it is nice to not have to deal with screaming young 'uns once in a while, especially in a bar setting. I don't get the 'take your baby to a bar' deal at all. I'm not sure why the vast list of bottled beer never materialized, but we will keep enjoying the food and beer on tap and if it ever does show up with some of our other faves, it will be the icing on the cake.
Nice ambiance and interior but the food was average and the prices a bit on the high side.
