Re: “Second Sundays on King Street

After your stroll on King Street come for a wander onto Broad Street and check out Gallery Row. So many great opportunities to view and purchase local art. Come to Hamlet Fine Art Gallery ( 7 Broad Street)and see the particularly wonderful pastels by Kellie Jacobs, the fine oils by Stephanie Shuler-Hamlet and Melinda Lewin, and the still life paintings of Pat Forsberg. Come a little further than King Street and open up your horizons.

Re: “Festival of Houses and Gardens

If you would like to expand on the downtown garden viewing there are many wonderful fine art galleries on Broad street. Known locally as Gallery Row you can emerse yourself in many differing types of media to thrill any point of view. The Hamlet Fine Art Gallery at 7 Broad Street even has a 18th century garden set up with many wimsical sculptures for the garden buff to admire. Only a very select few galleries in Charleston have such beautiful courtyard gardens so add it to your list of must sees while you are touring. The only cost is the time you spend admiring the charming surroundings!

I hope you all come see the photography in Marion square and keep in mind that in a short few months Marion Square will be the venue for many fine artists who exhibit during the Piccolo Spoleto festival, May 28th. 17 days of absolutely wonderful local and regional artists exhibiting there works in tents congregated so all can compare styles media and actually meet with the artists themselves. Such talent as Kellie Jacobs, Stephanie Shuler Hamlet, Melinda Lewin, Pat Forsberg and Anne Woodward to name but a few will be available to ask of their work.Make a date to come support local art and visit the Outdoor Juried Art Exhibition at Marion Square during Spoleto.

Re: “Hard to Handle

I have seen this band perform several times and have not been disappointed. This is a group of 5 outstanding musicians and a terrific front man with a great voice. When they do Black Crowes tributes, you might believe you're listening to the original Crowes. A must see.

Re: “A Night of Shorts

There is actually one change to the schedule. BLACK is not quite out of post-production yet, so we are playing a different short in its spot:

LAST CONFESSION by David Walton Smith and John Barnhardt
A young Catholic priest goes through the motions of his last day in the priesthood. His mentor, an older priest, is all that stands between him and his Last Confession.
