Re: “Cooking Demonstration with Matt Lee of the Lee Bros. and Executive Chef Matt Greene of Duvall Events

The stunning new Duvall space on Azalea Drive is one of the best kept secrets in the Lowcountry. The building is huge, with different kinds of kitchens all over the place, including; their enormous catering kitchen where the catering company and their fleet of chefs prepare for their countless parties and events, but also serves as host kitchen for several of the area's most popular Food Truck chefs to prepare their offerings. There's also a party room with a Chef's show kitchen, as well as a chilled, FDA approved food prep kitchen for processing food for shipping and storing. To top things off, they've got a new state of the art Cabaret-Dinner Theatre with shows by Charleston's own Midtown Productions that rival Broadway - which also serves as an event space. Check it out!

Re: “Crawfish Boil

The Crawfish boil has been rescheduled for April 26. The recent cold weather in Louisiana has stunted the growth of the crawfish and they will need a couple more weeks to get bigger.

Re: “Mommafest

Mommafest 2014 (April 19, 2014)

Voted “best of” each year Momma’s Blues Palace was a magical place. Always the home of great music, Momma and the Blues Palace became legend. Momma and Poppa DuPree have always tried to give back to the community that made their dream come true. To that end each year they staged “Mommafest” for various worthy causes. Each year “Mommafest “was s a huge event featuring the very best music, food, fun and good times.

Momma’s closed its doors to make way for development in 2004, but now, together with Smokey’s Place the tradition continues. Proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House and Music will run from Noon until 1:30 AM. Some of the very best bands around have graciously volunteered their talents. Their will be vendors of every description and as usual at Smokey’s the food will be awesome. Their will also be some great prizes.

Don’t miss this opportunity to have a great time and rekindle a grand tradition.

Bands:

Momma and the Redemption
Port City Prophets
Big Daddy Cade and Bootsay
The Muddy Kings
Taste Like Chicken with Rhonda Maples (winner of the Low Country Blues Challenge)
Slide Finger
Mason Dixon
Skye Paige
Bobbie Storm
Smokey Wiener and the Hot Links
Four Divas

Re: “The Playboy of the Western World

The show was terrific, the acting superb and there were laughs galore. And you had a working bar before and after. What more could a theater patron want? I heartily recommend it to everyone, especially for the Irish folk in Charleston. For more information and tickets, go to southofbroadway.secure.force.com/t,
