This event is rain or shine! If it rains, it will be moved to the screened in porch at Founders Hall :)
the Passages Art Show and Sale is a Great show! I hope it becomes a permanent stop to shop for art and gifts. Our community need this art to represent the african americans.
Hi, I am writing about the Confederate Ghost Walk. You were so kind as to post this last year and was hoping that it could be done again this year. Our event is on the 11th and 12th October 2013 and the contact person for tickets is Pat Blitch at 843-571-3371.

When they stop charging people to park is when I'll return to Folly or at least a modern parking facility where you are charged for how much time you actually spend there. The current system is a racket!
Just another Folly business and bar opportunity to strip the tri-state of another dollar and create traffic jams on the causeway. Not much has changed since the shell games and three-card monty.
We went to the early show on Sunday and had a blast. We had many different age groups and they all enjoyed it. The musical adaptation was well done.
The three lead actresses were fantastic. Each played their parts very well. Each brought strong vocals and excelled in the musical numbers. The actress that played Roz (sp?) was also spectacular. Her acting was great and her singing even better!
The live orchestra really added a great deal to the show.
The only knock I have on the show were the appearances by the real Dolly Parton that were filmed. That sort of took me out of the zone after watching a great actress play the part well. They were brief however and easy to dismiss.
Highly recommend seeing this show.
You must have the printed coupon in order to get the deal. go to the Magnolia Plantations website.
@Paul Bowers - I think you need to dig deeper about Jars of Clay. Your piece doesn't represent who they are at all. Also, you have no clue what the song "Fly" is about -- might I suggest you go to YouTube and look up the Eleventh Hour DVD version of Fly. There is a great intro on the video (Just a hint). I also suggest you attend a show and get a fresh perspective of the band. Maybe get in touch with them and actually interview them so you know what they are up to and what their music is about in this season of their lives.
What gave you the impression they are a Christian rock band? Jars of Clay is a band that plays various types of music from folk to pop to rock but they are not a "Christian rock band." The members of the band are people that have faith in God, but that doesn't make them a "Christian band." There are tons of country, R&B, rock, rap, folk, techno, pop artists that are people that claim faith in Jesus Christ and they attend church, but that does NOT make them "Christian Artists". Why label a group as a specific genre when their music doesn't really all fit into that genre or style?
Musicians can write their music to inspire others or to truthfully speak about real-life issues that are affecting people in the world. Be careful about giving a band the label "Christian" when it does not accurately represent the band. Again, I heard from a little birdie that the band will give you a free ticket to their concert. Take them up on the offer. Go listen, and maybe you will understand what Jars of Clay is really about in this season of their musical journey. Last thing, the "Inland" album is a fantastic collection of songs that will take a listener from a place of anxiety where they feel they need to fight each and every battle they face to a place of peace and wonderment as they start on a journey from the mysterious unknown that takes them on an adventure that will lead them home.
It's 2013. Get to know Jars of Clay from this age and not just think of them as a 90s band with Christian roots.
This is something I look forward to throughout the year! Great event at a great venue!
Looking forward to this!
Charleston will be served "good times " reggae tonight - awesome band
Well, not exactly sure where the "Bluegrass" label came from. Had to have been a mis-print. These guys were everything but Bluegrass. The Strumdogs "burned down the house" at the Brickyard Friday night with their reditions of Classic and alternative Rock. These guys are on track, with out a doubt, to become one of Charleston's most requested bands. The Strumdogs Rocked the Brickyard all night. Everybody from the patrons, to the owners and staff all agreed they put up a "Top Shelf performanc!!! Rumor has it that a possible repeat performance may be on slate toward the end of August??? You need to catch the Strumdogs when ever, and where ever that take the stage!!
What a great day! Thanks to everyone who came out!
Y'all screwed up printing the CORRECT DAYS for this play. FRIDAY and SATURDAY. NOT Saturday and Sunday as printed with the correct 'dates' next to the wrong days. I went to order tickets for SUNDAY'S performance to be told, TODAY SATURDAY was the only 2 days performance - that it premiered last evening! Arrrrghhh! I am completely livid and loathe the $chity paper more than ever.
Added to the line up for this event is Christopher Lebeau of Monkey Machine Studios ( https://www.facebook.com/MonkeyMachineStud… ) and unfortunately Melanie Florencio will not be able to make it. Come on out and have some comic book fun! For updates and info follow the Park Circle Comics facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Park-Circle-Comics/220056714334

This year's the event was so disappointing. The bartenders still not have learned how to serve a proper pastis and if the few genuinely French people who go there want to celebrate how they would in France, they are shut down...WTF?
