What is it? Three multi-talented divas and an accompanist/soprano/composer show off their skills performing everything from gospel to showtunes to opera to jazz. This is the group's fourth appearance at Piccolo Spoleto, and they're sure to keep you calling out for mo'.
Why see it? Inspired by the famous Three Tenors concerts, director Marion Caffey set out to create his own, more wide-ranging interpretation of the group. He started with Three Mo' Tenors, which opened to critical acclaim in New York in 2000 and then went on to put together 3 Mo' Divas, starring the talents of Nova Y. Payton, Laurice Lanier, and Jamet Pittman.
Who should go? People who love Broadway showtunes, opera, jazz, blues, American folk, pop, spirituals, new school, and gospel. And anyone who appreciates women who have the voices to confidently take on each one of these genres.
