Charleston Fashion Week is just around the bend, and Cara Delavigne doppelgangers will flood the streets. To pregame for the big event, you can swing by the Runaround Sue Vintage Charity Fashion Show. A benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the fashion show will feature items from Runaround Sue. “I want guests to come to the show and sense that they can do whatever they want with their wardrobe,” says Kelly Rae Smith, owner of Runaround Sue Vintage Boutique and CP contributor. “Wear an apron over a dress, wear a housecoat as a dress, pair a dramatic hat with a simple tank top and shorts. I really want people who thought they couldn’t pull off vintage to realize that they really can.” Smith says attendees should expect a wide variety of looks from her collection, including a Twiggy- and swinging ’60s-inspired round. Local comedian Jeremy McClellan emcees the event, and Autobanh Food Truck will be on site with banh mis. After the show, you can wind down with the V-Tones and the Flat Foot Floozies for the post-runway jam sesh. And this is one event is where you’ll want to arrive fashionably early since the first 50 guests will receive a swag bag with giftcards to Charleston hotspots and small items from Consigning Women, fkvintage, and Ambrosia Star Designs. Tickets can be purchased at the door and donations are encouraged, not expected.
