The Holy Trinity of liquids: Coffee, water, and wine. This is something my mother has always abided by, “It’s all you need to survive”, she would say. I’m positive most of us would have to agree with her —especially the wine. If you do express the same interest, then this deal is what you’re looking for.

Wine & Design is a picture perfect studio located in the town of Mt. Pleasant. The main idea is “uncorking your creativity.” Sign up, show up, and start drinking and painting. With local artist there to help you get started with the theme of the day, you’re sure to walk away with a masterpiece of your own.
Wine & Design is now having a contest on their Facebook page to host a party for you and 10 guests in their private party room. To enter all you have to do is ‘like’ the Wine & Design Facebook page. They will be selected the winner on Friday, the 20th.
If you would like to find out more information about Wine & Design, and how you can host your own party there, visit the website.
Good luck. Cheers!
We’re going to give a couple days for this one, so you can go ahead and schedule this one down.
It’s no secret that here at the City Paper we like to have a good time. In fact, you can say that might just be one of our top mottos. Here is a good and FREE time that you shouldn't miss:

To kick off the Charleston Comedy Festival a free stand-up comedy show will take place at Red’s Icehouse. The show starts at 8p.m. Wednesday, January 18th. Seats will fill up fast so get there early and have a drink and a bite to eat.
Check out the line up and the schedule here.

I’m so jealous I’m not a female right now. Wait. Let me explain…
Market Street Saloon is hosting Ladies Night Thursday tonight. That’s right, Ladies night! What more could a man ask for? Well, maybe to actually have a chance at the $1,000 giveaway. Sorry, fellas, can’t compete in this competition, but you can certainly be there for it!
So that's why I’m jealous right about now. I want a chance to win $1,000! I’ve got loans!

We could write an entire article on why we think Triangle is one of the most appetizing places in the Charleston area, but I need to get to my point before the day is over!
Purchase $30 worth of food and beverages for just $15 today, only.
Voucher may be redeemed anytime during February. Available at either
Triangle location, but you need to come by and person to purchase this
one day deal!
How amazing is it that Triangle is doing this? It’s something special when a restaurant can do something like this for the community. Let’s show our love, folks!

If you’ve been hiding under a rock the past couple of days during this nice weather this makes you, one; weird, and two; oblivious to the fact that Charleston Restaurant Week starts Thursday, January 12!
We’ve been having a hard time trying to choose from all of the savory restaurants to write about, so instead we’re just going to show you all of them and let you be the judge.
Here’s how it works:
Over 100 of the Charleston area’s finest restaurants (most of them nationally known) will be handing out 3 course dinners for more than a reasonable price. Depending on the restaurant prices start at $20, then $30, and then $40.
My best advice is to make reservations as early as possible. Everyone usually books up. So be wise, deal-seekers, be wise!
Check out the website here. Also be sure to share with us what you thought was great on our Facebook and Twitter.
Happy eating, everyone!

Do you want to revolutionize your life to make it smarter, easier, and more efficient? Well, we’re no Steve Jobs, but we have just the thing you need, at least from the hours 4p.m—8p.m Monday—Friday. The Charleston City Paper has created the totally FREE Happy Hour iPhone app that will make your late afternoon decisions a lot faster. Cocktail Compass gives you a list of all the cheapest happy hours in all the Charleston metro area, so you don’t have to spend your time arguing with your friends who think they know everything. Download it today and try it out! If you don’t have an iPhone the Android version is coming soon, so be on the lookout.
It’s no secret that Cinebarre has been one of our favorite theaters for the past two years, and I’m about to give you a few good reasons why it should be yours too:

Tired of screaming kids? Yeah, we thought so. The best way to quite them down is taking them to a nice dark theater where they can enjoy an entertaining movie and meal. Now you can do this without pinching pennies, because Cinebarre is offering Kids Eat Free Mondays. See, parents, someone is looking out for you.
We all know that Tuesday is not the most exciting day of the week. You just sit around wondering what trashy reality TV re-runs you’re going to watch (Real Housewives of Atlanta is my personal favorite). That is all about to change, folks. Only $5 will get you in to see the latest in box-office hits! $5! That's it! You can check out your movie times here.
Enjoy the show!
If you’re looking for something to soak up all that fun that you had this past weekend and need something filling to keep you going through your week, then need no look no further, deal-goers. If you haven’t been one of the lucky ones to try one of the best burgers in town, here is your chance. Big Gun Burger Shop & Bar is having a $3 dollars off burger of the week special! Present this coupon and your lunch could possibly be the best thing to happen to you all week.

It’s the New Year, folks, and I’m sure like all of us here at the City Paper, you’ve also broken those resolutions already. I mean, it’s been a week. We had a good run while it lasted. We know you deserve a pat on the back for your effort, and I have the treat-yourself-2012 packet for you:
Who ever invented brunch might be our hero. A meal in between breakfast and lunch with glutinous food like chicken and waffles, sausage gravy over duck hash, fries with bacon and bleu cheese? Yes, we’re there.
But what to wash it down with? We know! Bloody Marys and mimosas, of course.
Pearlz can help you kick start your Sunday Funday (and bring back some of those memories from the night before). $3 Vodka’s, $3 mimosas, and $1 High Life cans are there so you can drink through the day and let the laughs continue through the weekend.

Do you ever feel like you can predict what you’re going to get in your Christmas stocking every year? I sure do. Toothbrush, deodorant, floss, shaving cream, underwear, and socks. We get it mothers; you just want to make sure we’re clean, but I think it’s time for something a little more creative. Here’s an idea: Charleston Comedy Festival tickets!

To see the full schedule and to purchase tickets visit the website.

All right all you parents out there, this one is for you; I’m going to take you back in time, about 12 years ago, when I was just a 13-year-old boy with a rambunctious imagination. All I wanted for Christmas was that shimmering, cherry-red-and-white Fender electric guitar to jam out on and become the rock star that I certainly could have become. Christmas morning came and, to no surprise, in the place of my guitar was that annoying talking Furby that I never wanted. My parents seemed to flush my rock star dreams down the toilet once more, and to this day I still blame them for my musical incapabilities. Lesson is: Don’t be those parents. Buy your kids that musical instrument that they’ve always wanted.

Here is a good place to start: Shem Creek Music Center will be slinging out the sales this holiday season, and parents, don’t miss it! From the shiny guitars to beautiful drums and even the music lessons. While you’re at it, make sure that you take full advantage with this coupon when you visit! It always helps when you can get a re-string and set up for half off.
With all these good deeds I’m doing, maybe this is the year I shall finally receive my shiny Fender. Fingers crossed!
