The Art Institute of Charleston announces Drawing a Line, an exhibit by internationally acclaimed artist Lynne Riding for the 2009 Spoleto Festival.

Riding teaches in the Fashion & Retail Management Program at The Art Institute of Charleston, holds a Masters of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, and a Bachelors of Art in fashion and textiles from the Manchester College of Art.

She has designed for Bermona Hats (UK), Highlight Sports, and Doverfield, Ltd. You can find her murals in resort clubhouses on Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, Bray's Island, and the Charleston County Library.

The exhibit will show a selection of Riding's work that spans a few years, from representational pieces to the abstract, with drawing forming the basis of her work.

Drawing a Line will be on view at The Art Institute of Charleston's gallery at 24 N. Market Street from May 18 through June 10. The public is invited to an opening reception on Tues. May 19, 6-8 p.m. at the school.
