Free Comic Book Day

Captain's Comics is hosting Free Comic Book Day on Sat. May 2. Free Comic Book Day is a national program that Captain's Comics celebrates every year by ordering up to 2,000 comic books to give away.

Every person who walks through their door will be receive a free comic! They are giving away over 50 titles, everything from Ninja Turtles to X-Men. Captain's Comics is also having a big sale as a part of the celebration; browse the stacks for your favorite childhood comic at a huge discount.

A couple of artists will be on hand, including Dave McDonald, creator of the Hamster Sam comic book series, throughout the day, selling their independent comics in the store.

Free Comic Book Day lasts from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Advice: Get There Early! If you're thinking of getting there late and still expect to find any worthwhile free books — you, sir, will be disappointed.
