Shepard Fairey's court hearing

Posted by John Stoehr on Tue, Mar 10, 2009 at 3:55 PM

Our favorite hometown graffiti artist Shepard Fairey showed up for a 90-minute hearing Monday in Boston to determine whether he faces future vandalism charges.

Stemming from accusations back in 2000 of defacing an electrical box in Boston, Fairey has been wanted by the police for some time now, and they finally got him last month in a taxi en route to the opening of his first major retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art.

The case ends April 14, and we're hoping our Charlestonian learned some humility at Porter Gaud, so we can write less about his legal woes and more about his work. —Hadley Lyman
